I saw them in Atlanta when this album came out. Walking into the club and hearing DJ Dimitri playing music before the concert was the most life changing, bone altering beats I’ve ever heard in my life that I will never forget.
I FUCKING LOVE that Dee-Lite somehow someway is showing up in my recommended videos!! One of the greatest albums of ALL. TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Deelite were HOT for few years in London clubland in the early 1990s. Their most mainstream hit was Groove Is In The Heart, which reached No.2 on the UK pop charts. Whilst they never reached those heights again, they were a mainstay of clubland for a few years, making regular PA at London clubs like Fridge and Heaven (mainly gay clubs). They represented NYC when it had the hottest clubs scene in the world and everyone's dream was to go to Twilo, Paradise Garage, Limelight and all those other legendary clubs at the time there.
If anyone missed out on their great music is because they were 30yrs ahead of there time ,wow she could sing beautiful live in incredible dance moves truly wonderful
Every single thing they did was/is extra (duh, lol). So damn good. 🔥 underrated by fools. (First heard Towa dj BTW, sanfrancisco rave 3am gift center, played Orbital's Chime(!), and RnB and...the grooviest trip. Met Lady Miss Kier finally a few years ago, she held out her little mighty hand, yellow nails and was so sweet as I gushed... she's our Wonder Womon. Few acts ever as funky, sharp and sublime, of course... Still grateful for them helping me thru darkest times, too. 🙌✨🧞♂️✨🙌 Love, tommy pseu aka Tess jr
A "wham-bam-thank-you..." shaw 'nuff traffic stopping remix of a woefully underrated track from a Deee-Lite jam that never got the credit/airplay it richly deserved. Was a whole lot goin' on with this lot, for true!
Yah...this group is the best and she is frigging amazing and seriously gorgeous, free spirited and right on the money about living free with "runaway" and "call me"
Yes!!! Loved Deee-Lite since the beginning. Never understood why they were considered a one hit wonder cuz far as I knew they had catalogues of music in their discography. Was fortunate and happened to be out at a club in Vail and DJ Dimitri was spinning that night. It was amazingly euphoric and the place was packed with the best dance energy. Such good times. 😌💙🖤✨
I'm blogging in my room like I was in the CHA CHA ROOM (upstairs of "The Lymelight " room back in 1992..... the scene is was like no other ever or Since
OMG YESSSSSS ...LIMELIGHT, 93/94 .....SAW TECHNOTRONIC, ....DO A VERY VERY EARLY UNRELEASED YET LIVE VERSION OF "" PUMP UP THE JAM "" ...AND LITERALLY, WALKED RIGHT INTO A VERY , STRONG, BEAUTIFUL , EXOTIC, INTENSE BLACK WOMAN, ...whom was very angry , yellowing at someone in the men's bathroom, In jamaican tongue ....Low and behold she pushes off to the side, I get glance at face ...it's freaking "" Ladies and Gentlemen, MISS GRACE JONES!!! ....YESSSSSS LIMELIGHT!!!!😊🎉❤❤
Well it certainly is an unreleased extended mix. In the same way an extra 2 seconds of silence before a song starts is an unreleased extended mix. So well done.
Edits like this are kinda lost on non-DJs until you mix it in nicely on the dancefloor and everyone is glad for it. Completely faithful to the original is what you want with a classic track, I'd rather this than if they butchered it lol.
