Kris Koucourick is the only coach that doesn't sound like a paranoid career politician dodging answers. He always gives great in depth answers and he's not afraid to tell the truth about his guys and what they bring.
Dave I have a relative that is an assistant offensive coach with the Vikings, and in talking to him I asked him what the Vikings thought the niners biggest defensive weakness was in resent years and without missing a beat he said " no good second CB". After pushing him on this subject the name THOMAS came out!! You got to admit he's right soare the niners going to keep Thomas on this team??
I am wondering how much zip Brock is throwing the ball with now? Injury behind him and a full off-season where he looks to have put on some muscle and leaned out. I think he is the one. Think he is massively underrated. I believe he will have an even better year this season and shut up any doubters.
Staley sounded great. He will help Kyle with his experience. Nice to see the relationship with Brian and Brock continuing. They seem to get along well. The season should be exciting.
@@a1pha_star Brandon Staley is going to be a great coach, likely bringing the 49ers defense to a higher level than 2023. Another aspect of the 49er defense that people underestimate, is the free agent signing of Leonard Floyd, with 58 career sacks in 8 seasons. Leonard Floyd has been very healthy over 8 seasons, and was a big factor in the Rams 2022 Super Bowl win. If Leonard continued at his present pace for another 8 seasons, at age 38 Floyd would be number 23 on the NFL all time career sacks list with 116 sacks, just ahead of JJ Watt, who has 114.5 career sacks currently. Paired with Nick Bosa on the 49er D line, the pair should be reeking havoc on opposing QBs for some time to come.
Absolutely love your content. My favorite by far. Greatly appreciate your sober, honest and thorough evaluation and insight. Your ability to weave in historical facts cements you as one of the best to ever do this...if not THE best... .and....I enjoy the way you break it all up and share some of your personal adventures with us...i.e...food, swimming, travel. Thank you David and thank your new bride for her support for all you do. Reed
As far as Purdy goes, I think the question “who is the best quarterback“ is a flawed question because it often focuses on measurables. The right question to ask, is who is the best at quarterbacking in the nfl .. and Brock Purdy has to be in the top five when answering that question. (Talking to you PFF)

You can never have too many smart guys. Staley is at a different level than position coaches. Sorenson is taking that step. Good to have a guardrail. They’ll work it out. Already better than Wilks.
The whole defense has increased in speed and I am hopeful tightened up. Looking forward to the season. I do think they have made some good moves. Go niners!
@@BBaker916 Why do I need to have a channel? I just wish all the insiders and content creators would pronounce the players' names right. If I had a channel, I would definitely be on top of that.
Don't look now, but Griese is getting to look like Kyle... We are Kyle-vo. It's full steam ahead for the Niners miner club 59. sidenote: to Mike, I always smash the like button. r we good? Also, I agree with 'Change Capability Institute' on some things, yet he doubts Floyd makes me wonder if change is capable (institute). Floyd's a DAWG! So, let's get that straight... dude.🤠
I hope Staley isn’t responsible in running the defense as it may totally fall apart. Can the players understand complex defense?? The chargers were totally lost thus their defense falls apart. The defense schemes have to be set up according to players intelligent. In others words our rookie defense coordinator has to call the plays as he knows the players well. His understanding of how well the players can process gives him an advantage thus he won’t draw up schemes that won’t confuse them.
@@danarnold2900 I hope you are right. What is stated publicly and what happens in reality can be two different things. The way we will know this season is how the defense plays.
