Until we get another Jimmy Johnson/Bill Parcels type coach that isn't a puppet, we aren't winning a superbowl... I don't think any coach like that wants to play for us as long as JJ is the GM... so that tells u when the next time we win will be... probably when he gone
Jerry would rather have a losing team over which he has complete control than to surrender running the football operations to someone who actually knows what they are doing and have a winner.
I live in Detroit and I'm a die-hard Lions fan but these deep blue documentaries are the best. And living in Detroit you have to have another team to root for and it's always been the Cowboys.
Jerrah the football genius will never ever turn control of his losing team over to someone else because he’s afraid of the “I told you he don’t know shit about building a winner” from the media
Jerry Jones- Feb 5, 2021 Kansas Chiefs are claiming to be the new America's Team. (Fighting words in my book) Hope this gets to you. As a life long Cowboys fan, I am hoping the Dallas Cowboys will rise again for Superbowl contention. Thank you,
The most important thing for successful organizations is positive motivation it’s contagious I have supported so many championship organizations in the USA and the most important thing in those championship organizations is positive energy and positive motivation I was born in Michigan Detroit and supported helped motivated the championship red wings Detroit pistons Dallas stars Dallas cowboys Dallas Mavericks I moved to Dallas when I was 4
It took Jimmy Johnson 51 trades and smart drafting in a three year period to build a dynasty. It only took Jerra two trades to set the Cowboys back to the stone age trading away top draft picks for half a decade. He made a mockery of the Cowboys with the few remaining draft picks.
What did Jimmy do for the dolphins? Jerry and Jimmy did that as a unit take one away and the other fails. He'd have won some again had Bill Parcels been a bit younger.
@@NobodyUR Two different situations. Miami had an aging QB and aging team. He had some success there. Don’t forget he also rebuilt the Miami Hurricane program and won a championship. Should of won three in a row. Proof is in the pudding what has Jerra done since Jimmy left. And you can’t count 1995.
@@jcdova29 everything since is a different situation. Those two when they could put their egos aside worked some magic together. Separate they're not the same. College is and was a much different set of skills than the salary cap era NFL.
Gotta disagree with coach Johnson there. Dallas WAS better than San Francisco in 1992. They locked down their offense and forced 4 turnovers and Dallas o line and running game dominated the second half and the Cowboys cruised to a 30-20 victory.
Been a fan of Dallas since they LOST the Ice Bowl game.(1st football game I remember watching, I was 9 or 10). Lived through the highs & bitter lows. I think Jerry needs to hire a GM, I understand it's his team, but they have great talent this year, (of course defense is the key to winning), they drafted some talent this yr 2020 (of course we all know just because you play great in college doesn't mean you'll be great in the NFL)hopefully the new coach can lead them to a SB,(I'm not sold on him either, but we shall see). I believe an experienced GM, can make a big difference in drafting, signing players. Jones did turn Dallas around, but, last year was such a disappointment, they couldn't even win the East. Just my opinion, as I've said I've been a fan a long time, so I'm throwing my opinion in. Win or lose the Cowboys are my team, though living where I live now, I root for the Chiefs as well (can't believe those words even came out of my mouth). I was hoping Big D would sign Andy Reid as HC when he was available, also hoped they'd sign Drew Brees when he was a free agent, but they didn't. Any way Jerry needs to hand the reins of GM to another. How bout them Cowboys?
There are many fans and football writers who conveniently ignore the FACT that the 1995 Super Bowl Champion Cowboys consisted of 26 players that had never played a down for Jimmy Johnson. This included 6 time Pro Bowler Ray Donaldson, Hall of Famer Larry Allen, and Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. Jones won the NFL's Executive of the Year award in 2014, and a strong argument could be made for Jones deserving that award in 1995 and 2016. Since 2010, the Cowboys have drafted more Pro Bowl players than any team in the NFL, and Jones has played a big role in that success.
No one is discarding JJ... it's this damm coach who has been average and hasn't gone farther than the division round... he's coached Romo, Murray, and Dez... Now Dak, Zeke, and Cooper... still cant even pull out a winning season this year...
Dallas will never win another Super Bowl as long as Jerry owns the team. They'll continue to be the most valuable financially but they have become the 90s Chiefs meets the 90s Lions. Tremendous talent and should win it all but keep choking in the playoffs while the front office thinks it's just fine. Because Jerry doesn't want a coach. He wants "yes men" which is why he kept Jason Garrett for so long.
Every Cowboys fan will forever HATE Jerry Jones, that's his legacy! Disgraceful way to let Tom Landry go and being childish dealing with Jimmie Johnson. Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder will remembered as owners that poisoned there teams. Let's just pick one player to show Jerry Jones talent scout ability, Quincy Carter. A player that would not even start on his college team if he had not entered the draft.
This guy is the reason why I do not enjoy the Cowboys anymore. He just will not get out of the way. I was just watching an interview with Head Coach Kyle Shanahan and General Manager John Lynch from the San Francisco 49ers. I remember thinking, why can't we have an arrangement like that instead of the nonsense that Jerry brought that ruined our once great team? I just can't stand to look at him or hear him talk. The first time I saw him appear here, I had to switch it. How is that guy in the Hall of Fame?
Comment by Johnny Gammill, Little Rock, Arkansas: The 30 year celebration of Jerry Jones and The NFL Dallas Cowboys Football Club! February 25, 1989 to February 25, 2019, Jerry Jones, Owner, President, and General Manager. Incredible video that gives the Jerry Jones story a new and fresh look thanks to Steve Sullivan! After a recent trip to Frisco, Texas and The Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters, and a VIP tour of The Star, I am celebrating my life as a Dallas Cowboys #1 fan from 1960, especially since 1989. Thank you Jerry Jones, for your passion and your vision for the Dallas Cowboys, now and always! Celebrating your birthday on October 13, 2019 and sending greetings on your special day! Johnny G.
Jerry please get a GM, who better than Troy Aikman , someone who actually won you Super Bowls, without his Quarter Backing no way you get those Super bowls. Give him at least 3-4 years to prove himself. Swallow your pride and give it to Troy that loves the team as much as you do.
Man, who else can go 25 years without winning anything at all, but still get everybody to think that you're great? You know who else sells absolute garbage but can still get people to think that what they're selling is really good? Scam artists. Been in DFW my whole life, I'm 29 years old, never seen my team in the Final Four (not live that is), so I don't understand why everyone thinks this guy is great
Jerry will never learn that the greatest leaders/businessmen all have 1 thing in common....they know how to delegate. He doesnt thus why he will never again win a superbowl.
I mean he's a hell of a business man. He had succes in everything he ever did.. Even now the cowboys are the most valuable team in the world. And he has 3 lambordi trophies as well. Was the 1st to win 3 in 4 years. He definitely needs to lose some of his ego. I believe he has started to be more hands off in the past 4 or 5 years. He hasn't done any bone head things in free agency or done anything disappointing in the draft. Matter fact the cowboys have been drafting really well. I think its because he is finally not being involved in everything. Its a shame jimmy got fired..no telling how good or how long that could have lasted. Get some more jerrry as a fan I want as many as we can get. So leave mccarthy alone and let's see if we can get another one.
He should stick to oil. As far as being "worth" the most in sports...The Cowboys are, they are like 5 million dollar car that doesn't start, so you can hang whatever price tag you want on them. Jones will never win another Super Bowl, he is cursed, the 95 team won in spite of Barry.. You think Jones is hands off? He just puts Puppets in front of him, like his dipshit kid. I'm sorry you have to know these Cowboys. They used to be glorious
Good documentary. Learned a few things, but a big part of me feels that Jason Garrets lines were forced . Wander if his words about Jerry would still be as kind today?
Since 1978, when the NFL went to a 16 game schedule, if your team sends a QB, RB, WR, and TE to the Pro Bowl, they will have an average record of 12-4. 12-4 is significant b/c that will usually earn you a 1st round bye in the playoffs. The Cowboys from 1991-1995 sent a QB, RB, WR, and TE to the Pro Bowl for 5 straight years. This is the 1st and only time that has happened in NFL history a team has accomplished that. Dallas "average" record during that 5 year window was 12-14, with 3 Super Bowl wins in the process. Part of why Jerry Jones has NOT had success with the Cowboys since the 1990 Glory Days is because he is trying to recreate a statistical anomaly. His first 7 years as an Owner gave him a blueprint for success that mathematically is not sustainable.
All the kool-aid drinkers espouse how Jerry's already won 3 Super Bowls but then get mad when you point out that the last one came in year 7 of his ownership and he just finished year 35. What have you done for me lately?
