I’d say June. In the summer I usually dive in a 5mm. I do get cold easy though. If you’re going down to 60 you’ll want a hood.

Luckily we are in a no boat zone. We also have a dive flag boyue to help warn boaters that we are below. If you are in the Lexington area, I highly recommend Tanked Up Scuba for diving certifications.

Yes. You really only get 5-8 feet of visibility on a good day. If you dive the dam, you’ll get a little better viz due to all the big rocks and less mud.

@@greenmanzzwe run into all kinds of fish down there such as walleye and bass. Occasionally we run into cat fish. I know it seems murky, but for Kentucky lakes, this one is the cleanest. Lake Cumberland is pretty good as well at certain times.
