@@destroyer252 what lets Eric Stuart down namely in the anime was the dialogue he was given, he did the very best he could with a bad script, give him the uncensored script translated directly from the sub and he would of been even better i feel
@@diamondfrieza5391 I mean legit though, it's fine to had a Deck inspired by Atem, i mean many people did that with Endymion Deck. But somehow Yugi's Deck came from Silent Deck, to Magician Girl Deck for some reason, like man you had some Explaining to do.
Seriously, the summoning of Deep Eyes White Dragon is among the most epic I've ever seen. How Kaiba narrated the summoning, how it was animated, and how it affected the field. That thing came through a portal from a freaking star to this side of the world, and proceeded to blow up the field of the opponent.
Here's a translation of the summoning chant: "Infinite time, oh white strength hidden within its origin. Spread your wings in the echo of intersecting souls, and come forth from the blue abyss! Come forth! Deep-Eyes White Dragon!!"
Kenjirou Tsuda's come a long way. His voice got deeper and gruffer over the course of his career, and it just lends better to Kaiba being high-and-mighty and ANGRY. He sounds better now than back then. Also props to Shunsuke Kazama as well. Refining his Atem voice to itself be deeper and angrier than Duelist Kingdom, where it was just "more serious normal Yugi", while normal Yugi still sounds innocent, but at his most intense sounds like Duelist Kingdom Atem, maybe even Battle City Atem.
@@rob19ny not normally, no. However, go find a clip of the end of this duel, when he commands Dark Magician to attack. His voice is so intense when he says "BLACK MAGICIAN, BLACK MAGIC!", it ALMOST sounds like Atem
I was kinda hearing it but I wasn't sure of it. The fact Shunusuke-san voices both Atem and Yugi amazes the hell outta me. love the range. And yes Kenjirou-san has a powerful Kaiba voice! I hope Shunsuke can be convinced to do a few more lines for DSOD Yugi on Duel Links. its sucks he didn't.
I love that Kaiba is sweating at the end when he sets that card. Deep Eyes was his last resort and he knows Yugi now has a chance to best it- and if he does, that's it.
Even funnier that Kaiba likely thought the non-target/destruction clause would guarantee his victory. Ironic that he makes a considerably OP card that has oversighted loopholes lol
It makes total sense that Yugi only busted out his waifu deck after Atem left, and doesn't want him to come back. Not because he wants his spirit to rest, but because he's too embarrassed to reveal his magical girl fetish to him
Seeing as Atem returned to his body, and Atem has the ability to manipulate the deck to his will. I'm sure he found out and it's one of the reason he just smiled and left speechless.
Kotonohasama :) well she is one of the best But my personal fav is Silent magician for 2 reasons She can be a loli or an adult :D And she's silent "insert lenny face"
This movie is the culmination of all studio Gallop's tallent. Not to mention almost the entire set of DSOD cards were designed by Kazuki Takahashi himself.
For those wondering about the sequence of events, Apple Magician Girl, when she's targeted for an attack, lets you Special Summon a Magician Girl monster, make that new Magician Girl the attack target, and cuts the ATK of the attacking Monster in half. Lemon Magician Girl has the exact same effect. And while normally Black Magician Girl would gain 300 ATK for every Black Magician and Magician of Black Chaos in the GYs, Lemon Magician Girl negated that effect. Anyway, When Deep-Eyes is successfully Summoned, the opposing player takes 800 points of damage for every Dragon in the GY of Deep-Eyes' controller. Magician Protection, the last card used, cuts battle damage in half if the controller also controls at least 2 Spellcasters.
@@pickelricky At the 02:07 minute mark the Burn Damage effect of Deep-Eyes has already fully resolved, and at 02:10 Seto enters the Battle Phase and declares an Attack, which then Yugi's trap reacts to.
A few corrections; 1. Deep-Eyes White Dragon does inflict 600 damage to Yugi (600 x 3 dragons = 1800), thus (4000 - 1800 = 2200). 2. Magicians Protection does indeed halves any damages, but Yugi only activates it during Deep-Eyes attacked Lemon Magician Girl, thus halving the battle damages only.
@@frost-mermet856 As DSOD uses the anime effects of most cards, Magicians' Defense only affects Battle Damage. But you're right about Deep-Eyes damage.
I blame the writer and higher ups. They got a complete nobody to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Franchise to write what’s essentially the 20th anniversary anime, overworked the director on a tight show all the while he was working on another show, and poorly managed the animation team to prompt many animators to voice their complaints online all the while setting themselves to hurt themselves on the next project.
1:35 - I think the Kaiba voice actor had too much fun. And Kaiba is such a poetic. "Infinite time, Oh white strength hidden within its origin, spread your wings in the echo of intersecting souls, and come forth from the blue abyss! Come forth, Deep-Eyes White Dragon!"
That echo when he summon Deep Eyes is insane!!! Also Deep Eyes summon animation feels like they want to confirm that Blue-Eyes is relate to Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon
in the yugioh canon, Kisara & the Blue Eyes were said to be "a strength that could rival the Gods". so it's very awesome to see stronger incarnations of blue eyes making more cosmic/godlike entrances :D
Yeah I came here out of curiosity to see what was up with Yugi because he seems really depressed and angsty or just overall unhappy or something in the game. Well, both Yugis do, but the DSOD Yugi really does. And then I also got curious when I saw he had lines for the Magician Girls. And then I ultimately clicked on this video to see the Deep-Eyes. And now I'm wondering what Kaiba's obsession over giant white dragons is all about.
@1:28 “Then i’ll use this....and call forth the Ultimate Dragon. White power hidden in eternity, take to the skies with wings of resonating souls and rise from the blue abyss! DEEP EYES WHITE DRAGON!!”
My favorite detail of this whole scene is that once Kaiba isn’t able to end the duel you see that sweat on him, he knows that the longer the duel drags the more likely Yugi will win
1:31 Summoning starts from here 1:34 _mukyuu no toki_ _sono shigen ni himerareshi shiroi chikara yo_ _nari kawasu tamashi no hibiki ni furuu hane o hiroge_ _ao no shinen yori_ IDEO! 1:47 *DIPPU AISSU **_kkhhhHOWAITTHO_** DORAGON*
Yugi: "How does he get Pegasus to keep making so many Blue Eyes cards?! This has to be against trade rules!" Pegasus: "Screw the rules! He gives me money!"
@@ryanbelcher25rb ok so since pegasus is dead I'm guessing kaiba is funding for the creation of more cards, which makes sense why he would have good support for blue eyes
Kaiba’s antics are no secret. I know he commands power. I came to theater looking to see what that Yugi deck do now with Atem was resting in the afterlife and boy did not disappoint. He’s a combo king. 😯
I love the dominating voice of Kaiba's JP voice actor... but I can't help but when Yugi summoned Apple Magician Girl in the dub. Kaiba's line in response to her summoning was "YoU fIgHt Me WiTh FrUiT?!"
Dark Magician: One day, you'll have disciples of your own, Dark Magician Girl... *Dark Magician Girl's Fruit Squad!* Dark Magician: ... I'm not sure if I regret this.
The way Kaiba said "onore" and the zoom on his eye at 0:31 I felt that. The same way when he said "DRAW" and drew Obelisk from the ground in the temple. Fuck do I love his japanese voice.
"Infinite time, oh white strength hidden within its origin. Spread your wings in the echo of intersecting souls, and come forth from the blue abyss! Come forth! Deep-Eyes White Dragon!!"
Damn, you know as utterly baffling and awesome it was to see Kaiba pull Obelisk into this world from the literal floor, I think I have to say pulling Deep-Eyes in is my favorite part in this whole movie.
If kaiba had a white stone of ancients and cards of consonance, he could discard it in the very first turn and then dealt 600 extra damage when deep eyes was summoned, thus making lethal even with magician's defense
In Japanese, "eyes" and "love" are the same pronunciation. Deep-Eyes White Dragon means "deeply beloved white dragon", and its feminine appearance suggests a resemblance of Kisara's soul (or what Kaiba/Seth sees in her). Deep-Eyes's ability to appear after white dragon creatures were destroyed is symbolic to how she rescued Kaiba/Seth from darkness after her own death.
They kinda gave us ''odd-eyes'' and made it huge archetype. Deep eyes got nothing on it. Can't wait until they unite it in just ''eyes'' archetype lol.
i thought this movie was kaiba as the protagonist, its him dealing with the loss of his most cherished rival and trying to come to terms with it before going off the deep end
