This is excellent stuff from this excellent band. Yes, Chris, during this time Roger Glover was the bass player, he replaced Nick Simper who was their original bassist.
no band and i mean it , no band rocks harder and faster than deep purploe , they are the masters of rock , thank you hanier family ,joseph frpm iosrael { a fan opf dp since the seventith}
As far as Deep Purple is concerned, I tend to think of this track as being a bit lightweight, a bit of a throwaway. It's still very good, but it's probably the least interesting track on the album named for it. No One Came would be my pick from that, along with The Mule and Fools.
Great Song by there beast lineup that no one plays and hardly reacts to... Thankyou. FYI Ian Paice is ranked fourth on my all time list of greatest drummers primarily because of this song
Ok, if you're going to get into DP, then you need to go to one of the all time heavy metal classics - "Sweet child in time". It is long, but it is a true heavy metal EXPERIENCE! And then, of course, there is their defining song - "Smoke on the water". Pretty amazed you haven't discovered this yet! Maybe the greatest riff of all time!
My personal Purple favourite - blew me away when it came out in 71. Virtuosos all, but Ian Pace, cripes. His are some of the greatest drumming chops, perfect dynamic control and you know he loves to swing - the man was made to shuffle. Play this at half speed and some of his fills still seem daunting. A perfect rock record.
Highway Star was the opening song for Rock Band. We didn't know it before then, but after our son got into the game, we sure knew it after that! We really love it, though.
Deep Purple, always a good band. If this doesn't bore you, there were 3 different line ups to the band. Mark I - Blackmore, Lord, Paice, Bass player Nicky Simper and vocalist Rod Evens. Mark II - Blackmore, Lord, Paice, Vocalist Ian Gillan and Bass Roger Glover Mark III - Blackmore, Lord, Paice, Vocalist David Coverdale and bassist Glen Hughes. Blackmore left Deep Purple at that point and put Rainbow together with Ronnie James Dio. I hope that didn't take too much of your time.
In the old days of vinyl i.e. before compact discs, I had an album called The Deep Purple Singles, which had twelve tracks and finished with Fireball. Every rack was a winner especially Emmaretta, Wring That Neck, Demon's Eye, and Black Night. All that was missing was Kentucky Woman (probably due to the band switching labels). Again, loved the chair dancing.
We have a video for Back Street Luv. Fascinating. We've just started listening to Fanny. That one would be interesting, for sure. We've added it to the list.
An excellent DP song. Actually one of the few when you had Ian Paice to the fore. However, the album Fireball is dissapointing and a tad gloomy. It came between In Rock and Machine Head which are far better albums. By the way Chris this is Deep Purple MK2 after the original singer Rod Evans and bassist Nick Simper left. MK1 did 3 albums and some goid songs such as I'm So Glad.
Ned from Spain stoppin by yet again. The story goes that when they went into the studio The Who had been there recording before them. Keith Moon had left behind a bass drum and Ian, who never used double drums on any DP records gave it a shot. Of course he nailed it after a a minute to get used to it and I think this is take 2 ! He did it live when they played for Danish TV in 1972. Rough around the edges, the lyrics and melody not quite there but Pacey is incredible. You should do a reaction of that gig because it's a stone classic and over an hour of music.
@ghichens3418 It's coming along very well, Graham. It hardly needs anything doing. The previous owner put it in a dry garage because it failed Its MOT but it was only a small patch of welding. The rest is just a recommission and a good clean inside.
@@colrhodes377 Wow thats good news ! they are getting a bit rare because of tin worm ! especially down in Cornwall ! Is it for yourself or a client ? Got a great little bike meet on Sunday , at a place called Croft Handy near St Day ! mainly Classics from the 60s and 70s , proper music , burgers without the shits next day , and much more .Wifes Morini will be given a blast , better make sure is all up and ready ! cheers Col , have a good one !
@ghichens3418 That sounds like a great day out, Graham. The Rover has already hot itself a new owner. I have a contact, and he brings in customers. I never need to advertise. This was only supposed to be a hobby 🤣
@@ghichens3418yeah she did Sir G .. I understood what you meant ..👀 Ms Starburst_Candy was on one that day 😝 ! She should be fine to approach today as she’s now had a fix of Deep Purple 😆… oooh err.. 😝🤪 👍🏴
I think that if C n C want more Deep Purple but with funk, they need to hear Deep Purple MK4 with Getting Tighter. Glenn Hughes takes the lead vocals with Coverdale backing. A real rock funk fusion
@@jaymacgee_A_Bawbag_Blethering Oh thanks Pard , glad you got my drift ! mind you my wife has a hard job understanding without a bottle of my wine on board ! Yea think I might try a fix of Deep Purple later ! cheers sir Jay
