Because this video is way too long, timestamps:
Analog Brass - • Deepmind 12 // Hands-o...
Simulated Sidechain - • Deepmind 12 // Hands-o...
Unplanned Ambient - • Deepmind 12 // Hands-o...
The Oscillator Sink generative patch video I mentioned : • Behringer DeepMind - L...
I've said it a million times, tell me what would make these better for *you*.
After a few failed video recording sessions, I show my hands again.
I'm so sorry this is so long, I sit down with a light framework, and then let it rip, but really think this is the sort of video I would've appreciated when I was new to synthesis and to the Deepmind. No breaks, no skipping, just what does it look like when someone sits down to make a sound.
Cheers again for giving me any time.
More to come!

Watched both your intro to DM12 and this one--good stuff. Would be great to see how you use in the context of your other instruments and/or in performance. I appreciate you leaving in the spontaneousness, tangents, and mistakes--part of the creative process is responding to the instrument and interface and polished/highly edited demos make a novice feel foolish for not "getting it." Your videos are real--a helpful tool. Thank you!

Can't think of a comment that could make me more proud. That's exactly my goal, step through things in a way that the tricks and deeper concepts are presented where they make sense, & in a way that's accessible. I'm doing a sort of refresh on my whole set-up, I plan on filming a jam with everything plugged in & ready to go. Appreciate the kind words, looking forward to sharing more.

@@JorbLovesGear eventually is better than never! No rush on my part, I use the videos you already made as reference quite often. I've only had the deepmind 12 for a year but I find myself travelling further and further down the synth hole all the time :)

Nice job. Thanks fo sharing your DM12 workflow. Personally I don’t mind long form videos for something like this. I’d be happy to watch another.

Nice video. I have to admit my initial thought was that the text in the thumbnail was a comment on the physical size of the DM12. D'oh! I prefer longer videos. Cheers

Loving the Deepmind tutorials, the way you walk through everything has made more sense to me than anyone else. One bit of constructive criticism, put the synth on something rock solid, when you play it the synth bounces around and that isn't so bad for the synth but it is distracting for the zoom in of the display on the synth because the movement is amplified. Loving the channel, keep on going.
@JorbLovesGear

I appreciate the critique, I've tried to do post stabilization with the phone video to stop that movement without much luck. I am working on that!

Thanks very much for this. This was really good for me to watch, I have got a deepmind it's my first synth I have owned. I have owned it just long enough (10 months) to understand what you are doing and it gave me a good insight in to how to start to manipulate the sounds it can make and be more in control of what it's doing. I'm now at the stage with my deepmind where this kind of content is perfect. Thanks again. I've got some vids on my channel of some music I have made, feel free to check it out

Can anyone give feedback on the Deepmind 12 vs the DM 6? I know what the differences are on paper, but I'm wondering what they're like in practical usage. Many say the 6 voice steals a lot. Synth isn't my primary instrument but I have to have a Deepmind. Prefer the size of the 6, but don't want to limit my usage/enjoyment of it if that's the case.
@JorbLovesGear
@JorbLovesGear Год назад
This only differences are form factor and voice count, all depends on what your needs are. I've been using the take 5 as a sort of way to prove to myself I don't need the larger voice counts.. Dm 6 is a ripper

Dear Jorb, you thank you. I watch and try to learn from all your videos. I have a Deepmind12 D and am waiting on a M-audio Oxygen pro 61 any day now. Since you seem to know more about sound design on the Deepmind than anyone else I will present this to you. I want to make three patches and would love your input, thoughts/ideas 1. A synth recreation of the iconic "Brass Fall" sound from Terminator2 that ominous tension filled tone of dread! I know it was a Sample from a Fairlight CMI 3 but I would like to recreate it then make it bigger and meaner! 2. The synth version of a "false harmonic" or "pinched harmonic" of a rock guitar like something out of Danzig's "Twist of Cain". It would be great if it could be "triggered" by a mod wheel, pitch wheel or mod button (I play an Alesis Vortex 2 keytar shamelessly) so you are playing your riff and and hit the expression thingy and wham squelchy false harmonic thing! 3. The synth version of heavy metal Chugging. An aggressive, dirty, mean power chord that is muted for the chugs and can also be sustained. I imagine it as four Pro-ones through through a mesaboogie dual rectifier. The post apocalyptic replacement for metal rhythm guitar

Rad! Thanks I have been using a d12 for a while but never messed with syncing the sidechain. Side question does your deepmind have a high pitched hiss? Mine does but only after about noon on the master volume.' Thanks for the Juno soundbank as well. Excited to download that when I get home
@JorbLovesGear
@JorbLovesGear 3 года назад
I do have some ground noise yes. It's easy to filter out, but still annoying. Turning off the pitch and mod wheel led's actually helped me a lot, and turning down the fan, I did early on in my time with the synth

Great to hear! I consider that a proper achievement. (: I played the hydrasynth for maybe 30minutes at a convention, and the sounds certainly impressed, but wouldn't say I learned much about programming it. If I remember right, big washy pad patches were exceptional. What are you goals for one?
