The splitter is great! My brother bought it for me for my birthday a few years back!! The rubs were probably from the same buck since they were pretty concentrated in that little pinch point. He probably came through there often.
totally stealing that wood rack idea. making mine out of wood pallets that i accumulate from using bio blocks to heat my house. i can use the rack at my summer camp/house on the lake. anyway, awesome vid. i wonder if the cold had the deer hunkering down? likin that cabin more each time i see it. it be perfect as a quest cottage at the camp. keep the faith - seize the moments - Mad Plaider.
Yeah, I was pretty happy with the wood rack! Hopefully it doesn’t attract critters but I’ll probably unload it for the winter months. I’ve hunted this area and have always seen deer, but they may have been elsewhere depending on acorns and hunting pressure. It was pretty quiet that’s for sure.
I did in this trip! I only have a doe tag for that zone. I did get a buck during archery season and a doe during early muzzleloader. So the freezer is pretty full, but I do like to donate one to the food bank, so I’ll keep trying!
