I don’t really understand how Def thinks calling someone who literally goes by the name “Papa Gut” fat is somehow gonna get under their skin. He’s completely unhinged now, even more than he ever was. He’s almost manic. The final nail in Def’s coffin will be if/when he loses the lawsuit against Keemstar.
It does seem hypocritical for DN to call Papa fat BC his content has become very SJW and body shaming goes against those ideals. Just shows that he's trying to cater to a particular audience
I’ll be honest, I did find your channel through the debate with def noodles….. BUT what matters to me isn’t how I get exposed to a channel, it’s how that channel maintains my interest and engages me as a fan/viewer. Ironically, this is the exact reason I’ve become a Papa Gut fan, and why I’ve stopped watching Denis’ videos. He’s lashing out instead of cultivating and it’s SUPER embarrassing.
These are my exact thoughts and my exact situation. And it’s true: exposure means nothing if the content isn’t interesting/isn’t good quality/doesn’t make you want to stay.
I used to watch def noodles until he dropped the character and started finding his content more unwatchable as he got more and more unhinged. It felt as if I went from watching a cute Minecraft cat guy bringing light humor to stupid drama and now he became someone who goes on furious rants that are filled with so much vitriol it would make me feel so uncomfortable, like I was watching someone who should've been ranting to a loved one or something. All my respect for him broke when I saw how condescending, arrogant and childish he was during your "debate" with him. (Rather him having a one way screaming match looking like a 5 year old having a temper tantrum.) I just don't know what and where and when it all went wrong because it started out so fucking good for Dennis and now he just self sabotaged his career you can't help but feel kinda sad ;u;

Completely agree. It's genuinely concerning to see how he's been behaving the past year or so. The vitriol, rage, hatred, bitter condescension, lack of self awareness, and unwillingness to _ever_ be wrong has been very alarming. Especially at the degree and rate it has been amplifying. His bizarre and rabid attacks on random people (who he then tends to hyper-focus on) have been outlandish... And frankly dangerous. You are right it's uncomfortable, alarming, and very concerning. Hopefully he focuses on helping himself before he loses everything - including himself.

I bet he started off at a genuine stance and over time the attention and money changed him. I could be wrong but I try to look at people in a more sympathetic way and try to remember they're not villains in a story.
I don't think he knows what the word incel means, incel doesn't mean just "Mean to women", it means being unable to get someone in bed with you. Damn Def’s videos used to be one of my favorite ways to start my mornings maybe a year or so ago. I was in a deep period of depression and they made me feel happy and forget about my problems for a minute. I feel like he’s going so down hill. His videos used to be fast paced and light hearted about stupid drama, and now they’re just boring unhinged rants. The debate between you guys really made him look childish and immature and idk if he’s recovered from that. He seems like one of the people who just continuously apologizes about their actions but never actually change. I also think it’s hilarious when people call bigger people fat as an insult... like I think they know what they look like.

I watched this live, but some how this hit even harder as a reupload. It may come across incredibly harsh (especially when coming from someone like Papa), but it's true. It'd genuinely be worthwhile for Def Noodles to at least sit with a single point of criticism. While it may suck to hear, there is sincere advice and criticism. I have been blocked by Def Noodles on Instagram only for occasionally going against the grain and disagreeing with his opinion. Some of my controversial opinions were: Mocking a persons appearance, even if they are an asshole, is bad; Not all vegans are assholes (I am not vegan but I don’t understand the hate they get when scientifically it is proven to be healthy for most people, can be very affordable in most regions and doesn’t hurt most animals); And I think I “defended” Keemstar when he was accused by Def Noodles Fans of being responsible for the suicide of a young streamer (something Ethan claims all the time) and I don’t like Keemstar but I hate that accusation. Claiming something like this when the family of the deceased has asked to stop spreading false information is so low. I might have said some other mild criticisms. I am a private account with 100 followers and he blocked me that’s so surreal, lol. And I was respectful too, never too harsh because I am a people pleaser.

papa is one of the most intelligent well thought out people i’ve ever listened to. I’ve gained so much knowledge and even applied some of his knowledge to my everyday life. I would say papa has shaped the way i think things through to this day.
