KRS was a name I heard on a few Ice-T albums as a teacher or gold standard in Hip Hop music and I had to send off thru a music club to get because no one stocked his music in washington state and I never looked back I have 15 albums and I think I'm missing one. Just fucking pure knowledge skill and love. THANK YOU KRS
Love the positivity that is KRS one . I remember when we provided a PA system for him in Colchester UK back in the eighties he was and still is awesome!
KRS ONE is a legend and what he bought to the world of hip hop was the challenge of not following anybody else. He had his own lane and many styles, but most important was the fact that he gave lessons through his music. Every time a krs songs came on class was in session and you don't see anybody doing this anymore...a lot of the new artist can learn from this man...real talk.
Finesse Talent, I wish i could of lived a days in KRS-ONE's shoes back in the 80's watching hip hop develop to what it is today. Can't Believe people still dont know what KRS ONE stands for. (Knowledge Reigns Supreme - Over Nearly Everybody)
LOVE KRS ONE!!!! loved him from the doc la rock days..intelligent brother.. lyrical master.... AAAANNNDDD how does Dougie do that?!!! i dam near choked back in the days trying to master that...
KRS-ONE actually is a professor of hip-hop history and culture but I can't remember what school he teaches at (I know it's on the East coast). Brilliant man who shares his intelligence with those who are lucky enough to hear his words. My prayers go out to Kris and his family for the recent tragedy they have experienced in their lives. "Keep ya head up, even if it exposes ya neck!!" ONE
I had a similar feeling, but just at the beginning. KRS-One comes out, and only a handful of people stand up, then Doug E. comes out, and suddenly it's a standing ovation.
If you didn't "FEEL" it then don't say you love KRS-One unless you're saying physically. If you love him for his words then you will forever love them because he will never change & is one of the few REAL Hip-Hip Artist, something you can't call the rappers now a days: without creativity, authenticity, passion and respect for the Hip-Hop culture. The youth can't even be them selves because of the society we live in and that's why the are bounded to be someone else; some people want them to be...
53 people disliked..ummmm.. U guys are my example of difference between Orignal and Replica.. This is talent, Written or COMPSED from the mind of a genuis for his voice and his image,He dosent buy his lyrics like "Lil Wayne, Drake, Sad to say it bu Kanye West" This Is Hip-Hop Hip-Hop is Life and Rap is what we do. Learn it, Love it, Live it
This is GOOD STUFF. You can't compare many (any?) rappers to KRS-One. What other rapper dedicates his sole message to empowering minorities, urging them to overcome their harsh surroundings with a positive, proactive lifestyle? He's raw, sometimes preachy, but always honest and intelligent. Doesn't obsess over gold he's wearing, weed he's smoking or what kind of piece he's carrying.
i dont agree with alot of what krs believes but i recognize his realness and his wisdom, he is truly one intelligent human being. maybe im just old but he is the by far in my opinion the godfather, granddaddy, trendsetter, originator and overseer of true hip hop.
I believe that is from "Black Jack" by Mos Def from The New Danger. Dope song, dope album, regardless of what critics may say. I love this piece by KRS.
wow KRS One is damn humble. he gave mad props to Dougie Fresh while lowering himself. i can't find any word that's good enough to describe his munificence

From what I gather the idea is not that we should make money our number one goal in life, but that we can accomplish anything no matter our background, if we work hard. He uses making money as an example because many peoples goals are directed towards that. He is also saying that people hold themselves back by acting like they still live in the ghetto and that people make up excuses such as "The Man" to justify their laziness. Hope that helped. KRS4Lyfe
@JORDYB0Y so glad there are people out there who think the same way I do....When I saw the video for the first time I couldn't believe what I saw....Krs and Doug E. in the same room doing what they do best......claaaaaaassic rap music
I say these artists need to make a come back and bring Hip-Hop back to it's feet. These kids thinking Drake and Wayne is Hip-Hop. They are the definition of Hip-Hop at all
