Defending 101 Controlling 1v1s Situations Like A Pro & Variable Speed - FIFA 22 

This is my first fifa since 98,and I was staggered at how random the defending is on this game...I understand what you are saying Neil and agree,but I have found out within this fifa game that the less you do in defence the higher chance the opponent will give the ball away because your not chasing down,your not bringing players out,I have learned that defending with 1 CM/CDM is all you need to do,I use casimero to get in position of being at least a meter or 2 infront of opposing player and just keep cutting passing lanes off,and if a ball does make it through,I instantly hold square for press with defender but I'm running back in with casimero to make the tackle...I never ever switch to defenders,I use L2 only no fast run,soon as I've won the ball back my whole team is in position to attack because I've not moved any one out of there natural position...I have been a Div2 player for months,then adapted using 1 man defending and now I'm in elite division on 1700pts...I feel it's all about positioning rather than certain controls. (Only have full backs and 1 midfielder on come back,with a 4-2-4 formation,everyone else is on balanced for everything)....Love your videos dude

Defending itself on old gen has been nerfed or broken after the patch (not Jockey related) - I have my LB ai randomly switching positions with my CB or full back are too high. Or my CB's are switching positions with each other. EA have brought back drop back meta ffs 👏👏👏 I preferred pre patch yes assisted jockey was very helpful but at least my AI weren't as ret*rded as now and now I'm playing against park the bus 80% of my games...

Problem with us average players is that we are not sure when to use L2, or L2+R2 or only R2 during defending.. :(

I seem to struggle with adjusting the speed of the jockey. I lack the composure and just forget about adjusting the speed when the attacker is inside the box. Thanks for the tips!🙌👏

I use analog sprint to control my jockey speed. Idk if it’s efficient but I’ve been doing it from the start.

I don't really struggle with the manual jockey but I really struggle with winning tackles. I don't know what it is, maybe a timing issue but so often I tackle and the ball goes straight back to my opponent. The game has become so boring with most people parking the bus, releying on auto blocks and AI defenders.

I always listen to your advice because it always ends up ringing true in the long run, I have been struggling trying to get use to ball relative was so use to player relative with the right stick switching. But I’m trying to stick with it

I have a question. What type of "Through Pass Assistance" are you using? Manual, Semi or Assisted?

My ai doesn’t do what’s happening at the start of the game, ai is heavily influenced by the gameplay which is completely stupid doesn’t make sense

They figured out how to play with assisted jockey in online game already

I don't even switch to defenders when playing the game, the ai does all the defending for me and 8/10 time my team will win the ball... but whenever I try to defend manually i automatically concede a goal

Jockey defending should just be removed from the game. Previous titles were very fun without this hell
