Had an Admiral 220EX. Although it was delivered months late and had lots of call back issues that were very frustrating and required that it go back to the factory, a year later, it was a solid fishing platform and very sea worthy. There is no plywood in the new Parkers. My new one arrives in two weeks. Need I say more?
I bought my Parker 2120 in 2002 and if you asked me what would be my next boat I would say it will be a bigger Parker I’ve owned over 8 boats but 17 yrs later I would still buy a Parker and as for warranty mine was 8 yrs old when it developed minor blemishes guess what Parker repaired it for free I can’t say enough about boat quality I often fish 30 miles from shore and you should see the looks I get but it’s a great riding boat and I trust it with my life. As with all boats the true test is test of time 17 yrs here and still running strong
I've had experience with both boats. This is a great side by side comparison. The Defiance construction materials are superior. This Defiance planes level. No tail down attitude. Because of this it is faster and more fuel efficient than the Parker.
The other obvious comment that no one seems to be making is that this is the Parker 2120 which is a smaller boat. I could make the same video comparing the Defiance 22 to a Parker 23, and it'd be an entirely different video. Anyway, I'm looking to upgrade. I have had my Parker since 1990, that's right 24 years, and honestly, it still is as solid as a rock, not as pretty as it used to be, but an awesome center console. No one can believe it's a 1990, especially the amount I use it. Now I'm looking to get a pilot house, need a place to sleep... All that said, I will take a look at these Defiance boats.
I appreciate your thoughts Alex. The 2320 is a different boat. It is one foot longer than our 220 Admiral EX, but the only thing different about the 2320 from the 2120 is the length and full transom. Everything else in this comparison video still applies. It only seats 3 people in the cabin. It has the same step down and headroom as the 2120. It still has no fish boxes in the floor and Plywood Floors, Stringers and Transom. The warranty is the same on the 2120 as the 2320 so it would not be an "entirely" different video. We will however be doing a side by side comparison soon of the 2320 vs our 220 Admiral. And also one with our 290 vs the 28 Parker. Stay tuned and thanks for watching!
Alex Barber does it still apply that the batteries are now inside the transom Locker so what's your point Defiance can not compare I owned a 2320 deep V which is a hell of a lot more boat and weight and true length due to thought in case Marine Board that could never be touched by moisture unless you were to expose it and no one would leave it expose without Sealing the proper way it's too expensive a boat to just drill holes I also just sold a 2520 I made 7000 after 9 years of using her and my 2320 I made 3000 profit yes I used to boat I sold it and made a profit because the boat is in high demand especially the XLT model with the twins your defiance is it a pimple on Parkers ass... I am no longer a owner of Parker Boats but I will tell you my best day was buying a Parker and the day I sold them were very sad days.. my kids grew up with the safety of a Parker and one more quick story my 2320 did have a leak in the gas tank.. it's a very rare thing to happen with any boat the boat was five years out of warranty Parker loaded my boot up on a tractor trailer and shipped it back self 2 weeks later my baby was back in New Jersey and they did such a good job I gave the guys who chocked loaded my boat 400.. 200 each way... if you want an ice pick buy a Parker 2520 xld twin 150 if I didn't get hurt and I'm hurt really bad I would have never ever got rid of her like I said it was a sad day.....
I was doing text to talk and it came up with Alex you know the guy this was meant for and all the other guys who are stuck with the finances they'll never get their money back I'm not laughing at them but live and learn and don't take it out on someone who made the right decisions Parker Community is a very large community of fishermen diehards that make a living with this boat they actually tuna fish have six pack license and then there's the family people that just want to be safe I will never be fortunate enough to own another one.. I only hope I meet a friend that will take me out on them really good days that owns a Parker
teamdefianceboats the last 2 replies were met for you guys at Team Defiance boats I heard they were hiring at Parker you better hurry lol in all fairness I don't know much about the Defiance models only that I've had a few guys pull up while I was getting bait and gas n up and they all admired my boat and they were in defiance's.. even telling the boat putting it in for the season and fisherman stopping me saying could I look at your boat I'm looking at some kind of cabin model and saying they've already looked at the defiance and a few other boats and they were leaning more towards the Parker... it's a hell of a babe and when she has her Outriggers on she so pretty yes I love her I've been sad all day it hasn't yet kicked in I don't want to look out the door and see no trailer because that means no boat.... good luck with whatever you buy take care of it keep it clean and you might make money like I did on a great boat... peace

@@nicolasbouyiouclis4726 haha no, that’s not what I meant I wasn’t saying the comparison was a joke. The man said he’d owned 3 Parker’s in 20 years. I turned that around to mean he kept wearing them out. It’s kind of like playing the dozens, but with boats instead of mothers. I mainly referenced the crooked pilothouse just as a reference of where my interest started.
These current days Parker is 100 to one Defiance out there on the water and its almost impossible to get a Parker right now. I think that speaks for itself.
Actually that is a 21' Parker and a 22' Defiance. So it is not "significantly smaller". This is an old video however and many good changes have been made by both companies. Parker builds a fine quality boat.
Ya and they make the 2120 with offshore bracket. Defiance shouldn’t even be In the same conversation as a Parker. And I can’t stand how the nose of the defiance doesn’t sweep upward or at least be level it looks like it slopes down slightly. And they sit in the water nose heavy/low even empty.
@@happyfish9803 it’s because of the conditions where Parkers are made. It’s important to be able to keep the bow up in some instances and you can tab it down but if you have to pick it up with the motor you loose thrust/leverage on the hull. Same thing with the pounding some people don’t like about these boats. The low deadrise lets the boat run shallower I see 1.5-2 feet a lot and being able to run that shallow of water is very important in the outer banks area.
If you are going to comment on the way a builder builds boats, than Defiance needs to looks at their boat first. It may be better to install the batteries in a place better than the jump seats, but you need to follow federal regulations and put them in a battery box not just left in the open to accumulate fumes from overcharging and possible battery explosion with no protection
Jacob Robinson You are mistaken about the battery boxes being a problem with regulations. We build to ABYC Specifications and all Coast Guard Regs. The boxes do have to be vented to the outside (which is more expensive to do) but they are absolutely built to regulations. They are safer because you have less chance of being stranded.
Now with all this being said, lets compare pricing. You're bashing Parkers 21' Pilothouse boat. Now put the 25' boats up against each other and also include pricing. I did look at Defiance boats and also got pricing for them and Parker was 50k-60k less. In the end, Parker a East coast manufacturer and costs way less. Defiance is a West coast manufacturer so bend over and and take it in the rear, cuz you're gonna pay way more. This cannot be argued or denied. The West coast is having a hard time peddling their high priced boats on the East coast. But Parker has no problem selling their boats below the West coast averages.
People do your research this is not an honest comparison , if defiance needs to try this hard to convince you to think their superior than that should tell you every about them. 👎🏼 Parker boats all day!! Next time compare an updated Parker next to yours and play fair losers!!!
