I dont say that right side of lakeville is bad, its just that artillery is super effective and if it wasn't for a fact that artillery got deleted in first minute of the game, you would be most likely done for if the arty wasn't a muppet

QB has always said that the mediums should go to the town, while the heavy's take the hill.

I disagree CG, I've had some awesome carries by going town on Lakeville. Cross above the church so the middle can't hit you, pass the town & then farm the middle before moving on. It's not always preferable... but it is a thing! (see what I did there?)

That part of the map is the least useful. I have only used that position when there is no arty and I have a good hull down tank like a T32 for example :) Usually what happens is my team go valley and feed enemy arty a High Caliber medal :) Also just because something works sometimes does not always mean it is the right thing to do. I dont know what you think about the overlord map but I think many people would agree going to the beach is not a good Idea yet I have seen teams win sometimes by going beach :) It worked that time but I would not say it is a great thing to do :)

I completely agree. Dont know how many times the town is lost and we come back from the valley like you did and stop them as they try to cross the opening

Town is not giving up 3 quarters or the map. But control point can heavily depend on that lake road near the mountain. If you don’t have muppets towns always good. That small Death Valley is viable if you have the armor, guns, skill and competence. Arty usually shits on ppl there. If not that then incompetency always loses Death Valley. The town takes a bit more intelligence so it can b more difficult to use. Knowing the areas of where you can be hit and if you are hit knowing where enemies sit and avoiding that angle. Which if I get town support I use mic to let others know to better serve them in not losing HP needlessly and to take the town and road.

I think it's completely situational. A lot depends on whether there are artillery in the game. That makes a huge difference in the direction i go. Plus it depends a lot on the tank I'm in. I recall a match where I was coming from town in my E4 and went to a spot near the lake where you can go hull down. That spot protects the bottom of the tank perfectly as long as arty is not in the match.

Also the player base is completely different on console vs pc

Don’t go town. Follow the lemming train to the valley and stalemate for most of the match.... nice one. I’m going town or middle road and giving myself a challenge instead of going valley and playing peak-a-boo with the enemies...

Two things that determine where you go on a map: Position of the objective and the type of tank you are driving. Why would you go into the moss ground and put yourself in a hill down position in a tank that either has not turret armor or no gun depression? Driving an IS-7 for example, I would go moss because I have a bouncy turret. But what if I’m in say...the Leopard? Sure I’ve got gun depression, but I have to expose too much to use that effectively, and peeking up and down may result in lost DPM. In a Leopard, town is 100% the right answer. Wolf pack Mediums dominate that town; I’ve seen it time and again. But what if the cap is in the town? When you go to the moss ground, you put yourself as far away from influencing the objective as possible. Why would you do that? Don’t care what type of tank you have, any tank can reset a cap or delay the cap timer. What good will you be doing in the moss if the base, the primary objective, is going to fall. Nothing. Always position based on objective.

I personally enjoy town a lot more than going hill, either town or scouting with a light tank by going through the narrow pass has lead me to great games.

Update 4.12 has given me problems as well. I have seen more of my shots do stuff like firing at point blank range fully aimed in and missing the shot, or even shots that used to penetrate all the time, now bouncing off the enemy tank among other weird stuff. Strange that this is the first update that I have actually noticed these types of (bugs?) errors

I always just go with the centerline if i'm in a light armor tank with spotting or Town in something like the Jageroo, cause I can't poke. If it's anything else, the arty valley works fine by me, we just need to have a good push, and not get outnumbered

It's situational. I've had luck in town with light tanks that can cross and flank before they can get hit, especially while all the heavies are busy slugging it out in the valley. If I'm in a heavy or a slower medium or TD, valley every time. Valley is suicide unless you've got decent armor or a whopping great gun that can pen from a distance. If you spawn on the north side and can rush the hiding spot behind the rock in the middle, you can get some spotting damage, but even then you're in a shooting gallery for anyone hanging at the back with nothing better to do. Someone is going to try to take your nose off the instant you poke it out to get spotting damage. As far as the 4.12 issues? PS4 has been running pretty stable for me. The only issues I've had have been due to slow internet, and that's an ongoing thing.

I would only go ravine rather than town, when I got a tank with good gun depression and somewhat good ground resistance on soft terrain (below 2.3).

Agree overall. If in a hull down heavy the valley is a muppet sponge. That said some tanks cant do well there so I either go road or more often, cough cough, sit back and snip the ones entering/exiting town. Seldom win going town

Hey CG. 4.12 patch notes have a bit about better platoon distribution between the teams and I recall you doing a video showing miss matched platoons a while ago. You might want to revisit that as there are still some horrendous match ups around. I have an example of a 5 man tier 8 platoon matched against a 5 man tier 10 platoon as just 1 example if you need it

bounced 4/5 shots from BC25 on the side of T95 last night. I understand 1-2 bounces, but 4.... I blame the update.

Ya I'm playing on ps4 and since that update came I'd go to aim at a target waiting for turret turn to lock onto them ends up locking on gun pointed and aimed at target I'd shoot and I'd see a muzzle flash from my gun shoot from the left of my tank and the right after I'd zoom out and my shells are actually going them directions and not at the targeted enemy hasn't happened in my 3+ years on this game since this update

I agree with Quicky baby there is plenty of coverage in town and you don’t have to worry about artillery, also PC and console are two different games when it comes to world of tanks and are played fairly differently

Usually my tip is to go town but don't rush the center of town. That's the death trap. Usually the artillery I face never miss because of random logic but oh well. However if artillery is not around it really just depends on where everyone else goes. Too many times I see idiots all pile up on one side and still die horribly

Literally just had a match on this map. Same scenario. No artillery. I always go to the pass. No one came with, so I got steam rolled in the S. Conq instantaneously leading to the Enemy team winning.

There's no "always" anything. Don't be a coward. Do what is needed. If 12 of your teamates go valley, and 2 go town, support those guys (to simplify). All of my 9 through 11 kill games have been from doing that sort of thing.

I feel like town is the most viable when it's an Encounter game, otherwise a good push down the valley or the middle road seems more effective. I used to pretty much always go town, but some of the best games I've had on Lakeville has been going valley or middle.

With the exception of ricochets and bounces, don't tracers only show when you're viewing within _n_ degrees of the shell's trajectory? If you had turned your camera more online with the flight path, the tracer might appear. And tracers have always appeared "late" in the replay system, that's not new to 4.12. Next time you see an arty shotgun someone, watch it in the replay, tracers often follow impacts in replay. I don't think the replay system is very precise to the data, im guessing that elements of the replays are compressed to like 15 Hz or something. Like, watch someone's gunner view in slow mo, it zig-zags between vectors, never in a curved path, it's not a high fidelity replay system. To begin with, graphical tracers in-game have never been super precise to the actual calculated shell flight paths, there's always been that disparity between shells' calculation and their graphical... let's not call it representation... approximation. I dunno why the disparity persists when Bungie could do it back in Halo 3, but I'm no code monkey myself.

My 110 mastery badge came from valley on lakevile i had 2 rounds left at the end of the game i am astrong believer in playing valley

4.12 is treating me like a shit. fully aimed shots are going to miss from time to time and if the tank cocers about 60％-70％ of a circle you have to pray for the shot to land on a tank bc i noticed the shell is trying to escape from the aiming circle like me trying to get out of a building that is on fire.

You can explain map tactics until you're blue in the face, and prove it a majority of the time, but a lot of the time folks go somewhere because they want to, not because it is a smart choice.

Quickie baby plays on PC, so not sure if it's a fair comparison. Maps are not exactly the same. PC maps seem to have a lot more bushes places to hide. I would say play style would be different as well from PC to console

Don’t go town. Don’t go alley. Just sit in spawn with at least 3 other teammates. Wait for rest of team to do heavy lifting. Show up at end with fresh paint and barrel raised like the cold blue steel phallic symbol it is. Oh and click the shit out of the map. That must've been the worst argument for going swamp I've ever seen. You have an excellent game in the latest OP tank, opposing artillery is taken out early an d the opponents are unable to mount any kind of defense. If you ever come across a game where swamp went like it does in 90% of the games, and that decides the game, let us know.

Actually you are both wrong. There is no set play on any map in the game. You need to see what tanks your team has along with what tier you are along with what your team does. I have had to many games to count where most of team went valley and we got crushed from town because they came all the way around with no resistence. Ive done that to teams. The correct play on any map is good diversity on both fighting lanes almost every map has. To say you should go here or there is wrong on so many levels its funny. Every game plays out differently cause quite frankly console WoT is overloaded with muppets who have no clue.

And I love most of your content but it’s I feel QuickyBaby have more patience with content he makes and even if it’s twice a week I get great quality from his videos and get great tank info from his videos. Console feels like "Big head mode" for the whole tank with hardly any bushes to hide in with really bad camouflage and armor mechanics...

I only agree with you if arty ISN’T in the match. No arty, the side pass is fine. If arty is in the match and he’s not retarded, then the pass is a no go for me.

They definitely screwed something up with this update. First, the supposed matchmaking fix for the platoons just doesn’t work. I have over 30 screenshots of teams being balanced with top tier platoon in one and bottom tier platoon in another. I miss a lot more shots that before the update where basically guaranteed. And the supposed roll dice event, I had instances where my shots even though showing red color for penetration, wouldn’t go in at all. I was shooting a tank straight on with a premium round in the bottom plate, guaranteed pen, but every shot bounced.

Too bad it looks like dude has an aimbot..cause it was a pretty good game

yup 4.12 is sloppy. I reiterate, QC needs individuals over the age of 18 years to okay releases and drug and alcohol testing needs to be brought in for WOT management.
