A tank from a forgotten era, when there were 10-12 tech tree tanks in each team, now it's completely obsolete. This thing having to compete vs BZ-176, IS-3A, Obj 703-2...If this tank had better penetration it would be very powerful because the hull works.

My first premium tank EVER. This tank has a special place in my heart. My only premium tank for about two years before i could afford more. My most played tank also. I remember when it was considered border line overpowered.. not anymore sadly.

Skill, you are the best streamer on RU-vid to emulate. Since I've started watching you, my rating has gone up about 1500 on an average a day and is still climbing. Let the enemy make silly goose mistakes is one of your best lessons. That message plays through my head every match. I have also learned the art of tactical retreating, not relying on the team for support, how to engage during the start, how to play endgame, and situational awareness. Thank you sir!

If only the standard pen was as good as the IS-3, it might even be better than tech tree

Ahhh my first Premium from like 2014/15. I remember sucking very hard and running away from IS3s all the time.

Like a tier 8 obj 257, why I never understood how to make it work. Time to dust it off and give it a whirl. If it and the T44-100 would get some love on the silver pen to make it competitive and comparable to todays premiums it’d be my new favorite premium. Thank you skill for educating this baboon

Ive got 7.8K dmg like 3 months ago on Westfield playing hulldown....such a DPM beast this tank is....even in nowadays WoT

First Tier VIII premium I bought about 10 years ago. Was great back then but I never play it now. Always against Tier IX, and even struggle against the newer Tier VIII tanks. It's no fun

Sadly, this tank can't do a lot nowadays, I still play KV-5, I have it specialised for ramming, and man, that is a lot of fun, I've had so many epic battles ended with 500+ dmg rams 🤣

Back in the day when you got more battles with tiers 6 and 7, it performed really well. There are a number of tier 8s now that can butter through the armour of it. The standard and premium penetration need to be aligned with the IS-3. It's a victim of power creep which is a shame.

About IS-6 needing better penetration... reminder that it used to have the standard/universal 175mm of pen featured by the the D-25T 122mm russian gun

I almost 3-marked it while it has 175 pen, then they make it up to 186, now its more but even with a gold its hard to deal with 9 tiers

My first 8 tier premium I buy him almost 10 years ago

I'm several weeks late to comment on this. The IS-6 was my first premium tank I bought all the way back in 2013. It was first time I was willing to open my wallet for this game. The IS-6 was such a frightening tank to face back in those days when it was +/- 3 tier matchmaking. I had lots of fun with it before I took a break from the game after 2015. Fast forward 2020, I came back to play World of Tanks. Boy oh boy was I in for a shock, this tanks suddenly felt so outdated. And I remember using the IS-6 to try complete the Obj 274a missions, I just found myself burning credits by spamming gold while bouncing or missing my shots. Since then I stopped bringing the IS-6 out into random battles. However I will still occasionally bring it to Frontline, Arcade or Skirmishes. The armour still works, but the view range, gun handling & penetration are just terrible.

I remember being excited and glad AF when I managed to got this tank for free (first Premium Tier 8) during a WG Marathon... had to collect like 100k XP for each nation, playing Tier 6 only (Jap tanks were just released and I was having lots of fun with the Chi-To)

First battle nicely showed that BZ, IS-6 and KTTS is like rock paper scissors. And why to have so complicated game, milimeters of armor, horse power etc, if it's rock paper scissors anyway?

only skill4ltu plays against players in BZ 176 who do absolutely nothing to him. In fact, BZ has better accuracy than many snipers

I dont like how they buffed the IS-6, you used to be able to pen the gunner sight on the turret with a Tiger I, not anymore since several years ago

Great to see you deal with the BZ176. That is a very scary tank to face, for me. It can 2 shot a Tiger 2, and one shot a lot of mediums.

Perfect showcase why i still consider skoda to be superior to Bz. Gold spamming skoda can mess up prettymuch every tank it faces. Is6 was a powerhouse for a while but nowdays there is alot of gold and high pen guns. Sadly the is6 is not as great as it was. Iron arnies and 122tm have eaten is6 away. Is6 has the problem of not being a defender.

Skill, RNG just hated you in the second game! All the bounces on the T-30, then not damaging the arty! I feel for you!

I see no reason why you would buy this tank over liberté, for example liberté has better standard pen than IS-6 gold pen, while still having good armour. I don’t want to say it in case WG go overboard, but tanks like IS-6 need a bit of love, a bit more pen and bit better gun.

I still dominate in it, played 8 matches in it tonight and won 7 with a 20 to 1 kill ratio.

Played it in Frontline a lot. Worked better than IS-3, because it bounced SO much more. Also it has quicker aiming time. It was a nice counter against all the Borats and Prosciuttos, because they always bounces 50% of their clips, sometimes 100%.

We all know how to play this game. What we really need to know is where are the good spots to snipe, please and thank you!

When it came out, it was a fun tank. Then power creep came, and it sucked.

I like it, but think it is outdated and, well, not under-powered, but as you say there are now many more better tanks. Better pen and more gun depression would help it catch up to the rest. I dont know why WG dont buff some of the older premiums, there are so many people that dont own them Im sure they could create a new market for many and get some more $$, as well as keeping previous customers happy. It may even encourage me to start spending money again. I still like to play it occasionally, but I know I cant match it against many newer tanks, so really, as a competitive tank, its a second rate choice. Admittedly im not the best heavy player on the server, but when I do play a heavy I want a tank that is equal.

Guys tip: if you are someone like me that doenst enjoy tier 10 because of the gold spammers and pro players and likes tier 9-8 more always pick is 6 b on the hond shop and at the start of every year you can trade it for something like cs 52 lis or elc even 90 which is a good choice 8k bonds is easy to grind in 1 year

They just need to give it the same prem round with 250mm pen like its Chinese counterparts and the tank will be fine.

if you play with the standard equipment no food u miss 3/6 full aim , u food for tir9 heavy en super heavy , medium tanks mor amure en mobiliti , 3/5 matches go gold ammo vs u " it's a pleasure to play" IS-6.

If there's a tank that has never scared me it's the IS-6. Even when it's 2 tiers above me I think of it as free damage. If I'm in a tier 8 or 9 tank I apologize to it everytime I shoot it because I feel sorry for the poor soul playing it

RNG say to often NO tho easy full aimed shots. RNG and MM are a dezaster in this game.

I've played 400+ battles in this tank over the years and oh boy it has lost its magic. Dpm and gun handling are pretty good but the armor doesnt do anything against equal or higher tiers and the pen is dreadful. Also This is day TWELVE asking for Charlemagne!

Remember when this and the T-34-3 had 175 mm of pen? The T-34 at least had HEAT ammo with 250mm pen (it still does iirc), but the 20mm pen buff helped these two tanks a lot

This is my least favorite tank I ever spent money on and I've bought 30 or so premium tanks. I will never again buy a premium tank with a shitty gun. If the gun is garbage for the tier, then I don't care what else it has going for it.

bz 176 is only amazing if your targets arent looking at you.. the miniute they see you its mash 2 and your reduced to a teir 6 kv2 in teir 8....when it works it works but when it doesnt.. it REALLLY doesn't work.. the crysler gf started feeling better after playing bz 176.
