Love My DM70’s I have the DM30 Center for a 3rd powered base in the front array for total thunderous sound. I also added the upward firing DM90’s, the front sound is nothing short of amazing. Also for complete Dymension sound I also added the surround DM95’s. As a whole the experience of a good Atmos movie is just amazingly thunderous, articulate and full. It is amazing what sounds come out of this full set up.

I am currently waiting on a delivery of two DM 70 and a DM 20. I am very excited. This is my first home theater/receiver/real speaker system. I’m not really sure what to expect since I only demoed the 40s lol this is completely an utterly overkill from my little space here in my home, but whatever you only live once lol

Im very interested in these. I was looking to at the BP9000 but then they were being sold out every where. Now I see why, Definitive had a newer version coming out. I like how the redesigned there built-in amp. I've heard nothing but good things from the BP9000 series so, for Dymension to be the newer speaker coming out. This is going on my list of speakers to take a look at.

If you like wasting your money down the toilet, go ahead.. Here is the thing: Their sound quality is amazing (when it works), but their built quality is trash. Nothing but problems. And their customer service?? None existent !!! So, good luck... 🤣

Did you fix your amp reliability ?
@SoundUnitedTraining

yes, the issues with the previous BP series have been addressed, the amps in the Dymension Series have been redesigned and are brand new.

@@SoundUnitedTraining Is it safe to assume that Definitive Technology's latest Descend subwoofers like the DN12 & DN15 also have the same or similar redesigned brand new amps?

So you know there was a problem with the old amps and didn't do anything? That great. I got three bad amps, two in a row with the CS9080 and one bad one from a BP9060. Was a great time replacing amps on brad new equipment rather than enjoying listening to them. I guess that's what I get for getting close out pricing, you get below average equipment.

@Masimo Consumer Training May I ask what brand speaker cables and it’s gauge do you use to test as well demo the DM80. On a closer look I can see that you’re using a Marantz stereo amplifier in the background of this video

While I am currently using the BP9080x, I’ve tested them in various room sizes and it gave a lot wider sound stage when I used speaker jump cables to connect between the speaker main terminals and height module terminals since I’m using a stereo amplifier. I hope I can apply the same configuration on the DM80 and DM90 as well

I have the DefTec SuperCube Reference sub, two of them. Really love them (only gripe, is the noicefloor...) I have not heard any speakers from DefTec, not yet🤪 Hope to rectify that soon though😊

I invested in Definitive Technology back in I believe 2002 - BP7001 , BP7002 & BP7006 Towers along with Studio Monitors 350 & 450 surrounds w/ CLR 2005 & CLR 2001 center speakers. They are still kicking. I have never had any issues ( knock on wood ) with internal AMPS. The living room utilizes a Marantz SR7013 & Emotiva XPA-5 Next Gen3 Amp.......pushing the BP7001 fronts & BP7002 rears.............I would love to upgrade however you have to ask yourself why if it's not broken?

I had that same previous line up BP 7006 ect….. hands down night and day difference. My DM70’s and center DM30 provide triple base. I added the DM90’s and DM95’s as well. Wayyyyyyy better than my last arrangement. Upgrade dude, your missing out, lol

Okay. Let everyone get something perfectly clear right now. The very best speaker set that Definitive Technology has ever had is the BP7000SC, C/L/R 3000, and the BP/VXP surrounds. Nothing, and I mean nothing that Definitive Technology has ever produced since those come close. Please look at the specifications and you will see that I am right. I have the BP7000SC, C/L/R 3000, and the BP/VXP that I have done major modifications to. It is very hard for me to imagine these new speakers being better in any way. I really do not like the appearance of these new speakers. The "racing stripe" in the middle with the "D" just looks horrible to me.

I posted in the comments but going to reiterate here. The BP7000SC are legendary. @@8474Starscream Hi David, Thank You for replying to my post. I'll explain my system to you. I have the Furman Reference 20 power conditioner which is their flagship. I then have the Oppo UDP-205. I actually bought this just a couple of days before Oppo announced they were going out of that part of their business. That makes me one of the last people to have bought one of these at the $1,300.00 price. In fact, a week after I bought it they were selling for $6,000.00 on Amazon. I'm rather proud of that!!! Up next is the Sony Master Series 65XR-A90J OLED. The first one I got was defective right out of the box. Yeah, No Bullshit!!! Next, I am very proud to own the Marantz SR-8015. I was so proud of owning this that before I even plugged it in, I decided to upgrade the front 3 speakers. Those are the Definitive Technology BP7000SC, and the C/L/R 3000 center. The internal wiring for the crossovers was 18 gauge. I replaced all of the wirings using Mogami 12-gauge wires. I soldered all connections. I also replaced all of the binding posts with the best KLE Innovation binding posts. I had to totally disassemble these speakers to do all of this. Well, while they were all apart, I VERY meticulously installed 100 Mil Kilmat on the entire interior. I then used 3M spray adhesive to install 1/2" thick wool felt to the entire interior. I again was extremely meticulous in doing this work. I had never done anything like this before, and David let me tell you that there was not one thing that was easy about any of it. My God!!! On the outside of the speaker cabinets, I also installed a 50 Mil sound deadener. I used 50 Mil because it was the only black sound deadener that I could find. When everything was completely reassembled, I treated the BP7000SC speakers to the ISO Acoustic GAIA I isolators. I also installed Furutech IEC power inlets, and I now power the internal amps using some really nice VooDoo Cable power cords that are 8-gauge. These speakers sound incredible!!! The next thing that I would like to do is to get an Emotiva XPA-DR3 Power Amplifier for the front 3 speakers. After that, I'll have to research 2 subwoofers. The SVS Ultra subs look nice, but there are a lot of nice ones out there. Arendal looks pretty nice too. Well, David, it has been fun telling you about my system. Good luck with yours. Take Care, Ernest Waxter III

Why is the tweeter off set? The BP was not. Does the tweeter have a better dispersion than the BP. Spec wise the new ones do not go as high and not as low? Would be nice to have little better information than butting out the same video just with a different person.
@SoundUnitedTraining
@SoundUnitedTraining Год назад
Offsetting the tweeter minimizes wave cancellations off the front baffle. The new models sound noticeably better, but their listed specifications are more conservative than the previous model.

Golden Ear makes superior speakers for similar application. DefTech made good speakers in the 90’s, but that’s where it ended.

Ignorant comment. I will agree that Golden Ear's are amazing but come with premium price tag. These new DM series however will outperform anything in their price class and are a significant upgrade over SVS & Klipsch (coming from personal experience). I own the DM70's and DM30 center and my previous SVS Ultra's can't hold a candle to the Def techs. The amps are completely redesigned from the older 80/90 series as well.

Those new speakers are a step way back for more money. The old Definitive technology speakers are the only ones to own. Pre BP 9080x line. Those brand new models don't even have cast baskets! The subwoofer is so poorly designed he wouldn't even show the motor structure lol!!

Why DefTech has not addressed the "you only get them black" issue of their socks just mind-boggling. No alternative colors available. Only man-cave black. 🤷🏻
