What I liked about this plot is that nothing healed Jimmy and Spinner’s friendship except for time and the fact that they both had to complete a fifth year in high school. Jimmy realized it was a waste of energy to hold a grudge against Spinner, even if he **indirectly** got Jimmy shot. Jimmy realized that it wasn't going to change the fact that all of his classmates were graduating, leaving him behind, and that he had to attend classes with the one guy he resented all year, the only other person left from their class. Most importantly, being mad at Spinner wasn’t going to get his mobility back. As for Spinner, this was a necessary humbling experience for him, and he had one of the best transformative arcs on the show as a result. ❤
And I think the reason jimmy forgave spinner was because Rick was directly responsible for the shooting. Even tho spinner is partially responsible for the shooting, Rick chose to bring the gun to school and put Jimmy in a wheelchair. Rick could’ve prevented that situation from happening by leaving degrassi because talking to the principal didn’t help.

Honestly if I was their principal, I’d have investigated Ricks bullying and they all would have been expelled. As a matter of fact, I would have had children’s aid visiting parents armed with a warrant. These guys have no accountability whatsoever.
Rick's parents were MOST at fault. Their son was clearly disturbed and they let him go back to the same school where he abused a beloved student, and WORST YET, let him have access to a gun.

Me: Jimmy can't mean those words. He knows Spinner. Also Me: The anger that school shooting victims feel is profound. In his head, Jimmy knows Spinner is his best friend but in his heart, Spinner put him in a wheelchair and he feels like he betrayed him.
While I kind of feel bad for Spinner. But then again, he basically tricked Rick into thinking that Jimmy was the one who set up that prank. Little knowing that Jimmy brought a gun because he was angry about the whole thing which resulted in Jimmy getting crippled and Rick dying. Jimmy has every right to be angry at Spinner, every reason not to forgive him, all because his idiocy is what got him in the wheelchair. Maybe Spinner should have been more careful on what he said.

In retrospect you understand Jimmy's side of things but you become an adult you also start to see Spinners point of view. It really is regrettable not to forgive someone you love even if they screwed up.

They shouldn't be mad at Spinner, they should be thanking him! Look after Terri was put in the hospital everyone made Rick miserable. It makes me mad that Jay hardly faced any consciousness. Sure, he got expelled with Spinner, but at least Spinner made an effort - more than one effort, actually - to own up to for his part of what happened. Jay never did! And it was Jay's idea to blame Jimmy for the prank on Rick.
People hating Spinner post-shooting: Student body- 2 Craig- 6 (one of them being mentioned by Marco) Marco- 7 Manny- 1 Hazel- 2 Paige- 3 Ellie- 3 Jimmy- 9 Ashley- 1 While Jimmy had more points than Craig in this video, I really believe Craig loathes Spinner far more than Jimmy imo. He witnessed one of his best friends getting shot. Then, he learns that *Spinner* was responsible for the shooting (along with Jay and Alex), which permantently severs their friendship. Hardly ever you saw those two interact again afterwards.

Based on what limited footage I saw of everyone going from bullying Rick to bullying Spinner , you can tell nobody learned a damn thing. Are they gonna wait for Spinner to do what Rick did?

First of all the only reason Rick was being bullied was because he was abusing Terri put her in a coma and gave her permanent brain damage which people conveniently don't mention. But even then Jimmy stopped and was being nice to Rick and they were starting to become friends in debate club. The only reason Rick lost it and shot Jimmy was because Spinner and Jay made him believe Jimmy's friendship was fake and that he betrayed him. Jimmy had every right to hate Spinner.

The thing is, he could have missed too much material to continue to the next grade. I know that in Canadian high schools, each grade builds upon another.
@@jalyceabraham1902Being mad is understandable. However I feel most viewers of Degrassi overlook several things in season three and four. Rick was a very unstable person yet showed remorse for his actions. It doesn’t make them good despite that. Also we don’t know why he is the way he is having no background information on him. However when everyone bullied him they showed no remorse and “all” had a part in it. Including Jimmy. So not a single person here is innocent. In fact the only blameless person I can think of that knew Rick and didn’t do him any harm is Toby.
@@Lone_Wolf91 Exactly because Toby saw that Rick had remorse over his actions and stood up for him when he was being bullied by deciding to be his friend unlike Jay, Spinner, Alex and Jimmy and mostly nearly all of the kids of Degrassi. Principal Radditch was just as bad as the bullies because he did nothing to stop the bullying which resulted in the school shooting. Jimmy didn't friend Rick until he saw the bullying of him take a turn for the worst because he helped Spinner throw him in the dumpster and walk away laughing about it. And they helped beat up Rick but the yellow paint prank was the straw that broke the camel's back along with the lie that Jay and Spinner told about Jimmy being in on the prank along side Alex thinking that he will tell Mr.Radditch not knowing it will result in Jimmy being shot. Paige and Jimmy apologized to Rick for bullying him. But Jay, Spinner and Alex didn't. Spinner had remorse over Jimmy being shot unlike Jay and JT Yorke treated Toby like a pariah by blaming him for Rick's actions for choosing to be his friend but Manny told him about himself and made him apologize to Toby by reminding him that he chose to be friends with Rick because of the way he was treating him by not being a good friend to him and ditching him for Danny.

Thing about schools is that they aren’t responsible for what happens outside school grounds. So that’s why they let Rick back in. After he came back I do think he did change and was trying to show people that. But instead for forgiving him they pushed him to the point that he did what he did.
Yeah Spinner and Jay were such jerks in those early seasons but at least Spinner took responsibility for his wrong doings even though everyone was pissed at him like the end of season 4 to season 5 Jimmy was the most angry with Spinner and even Craig and everyone was angry at Spinner too
Yes Spinner shouldn’t have taken part in bullying Rick, but at the end of the day it was Jay’s idea to lie about Jimmy being involved in the bathroom for Rick to hear, Spinner just decided to go along with it, and how about we talk about Rick’s negligent parents who failed to properly secure the gun in the house which would’ve kept the shooting from happening in the first place? I know right. Whether Spinner knew Terri's abusive ex-boyfriend, Rick brought a gun to school or not, he has to accept responsibility for what happened and I think he does. Spinner knows what he did was wrong.
Spinner was cold hearted for putting jimmy in a wheelchair but jimmy was also low key cold hearted when he told him to commit suicide even after jimmy tried to stop spinner from driving. Even after Craig and Marco didn’t want him at the party it’s kinda ironic that they cared about Gavin’s safety after he got drunk and chose to take the car.
Not really when Spinner put Jimmy in a wheelchair. Plus, Jimmy wasn't telling Spinner to go kill himself, he just said he didn't care and told Spinner to think about others and take responsibility for his actions. Imagine if Sean hadn't left Degrassi and found out about this. He probably would've hated both Spinner *AND* Jay for what had to do to Rick. That or might have stayed away from Spinner. Jay on the other hand, I'm not too sure
I believe that had Sean found out about the shooting and also what happened to Jimmy and Rick, I think he may have cut Jay off and had a hatred for Spinner. And also seeing how both Jimmy and Sean were both affected by the school shooting, they would have for sure reignited their friendship and become good friends. I could see Sean cutting off Jay just like Jimmy did to Spinner.
Honestly I don't think Sean would want to be friends with Jimmy. Because Sean is the one that beat up Jimmy. Also Sean doesn't have a hatred for Spinner because they both had to deal with the crap from Jay. But Sean and Spinner did beat up Jay for ruining their lives the way he did.
@@thefighter5182 That was in season 1 and by season 4 I would think that Jimmy and Sean would have put that beef behind them. I don't see why they can't be friends again, look at Jimmy and Spinner, their friendship ended and then they became friends again. And also Spinner and Sean both cut ties with Jay at some point then became friends again so it's not out of the question. And look many times JT and Toby as well as Manny and Emma went on bad terms only to make up and be friends again. Look at Ashley's relationships with Jimmy and Craig, broke up and got back together again, these are points I am making. I could definitely see Sean and Jimmy becoming friends, especially after the truth came out about the shooting.

I think that Sean would have befriended Jimmy again and also Craig and Marco too. They would have done a swap, Sean hangs out with Marco, Craig and Jimmy while Spinner and Jay hang out.

Spinner deserves the treatment but he did at least attempt to rectify his mistake and felt sincere guilt and admitted his part to jimmy face to face when he could’ve took it to his grave that does show a good character trait
I think Jimmy would have been very pissed off at Jay and he still would have been even more pissed off at Spinner. I also believe that Jimmy would have told Sean about Jay's involvement as well as Spinner's and he would be very furious at both of them since Sean risked his life to stop Rick from shooting more people.
I think Sean wouldn't hate on Spinner for the shooting. Because I think Sean wouldn't be furious at Spinner because Rick did the graffiti on Jay's car and Spinner's car.

Jay and Spinner got expelled and Alex was suspended and fired as co class president. Spinner at least came back to graduate Jay never did and Alex I’m not sure
I think Sean would have kicked both of their asses.Jay has proven to be no match for Sean. Spinner is a pretty skilled fighter, but even so, Sean would have messed them up for that because Sean's anger can do some serious damage.
@m.miller3903 I really think that Jay is scared of Sean and he knows he would have gotten his ass kicked for starting this mess. He would have been pissed off at Spinner for sure, and both Jimmy and Sean would have become very good friends as they were in bad shape after the shooting. They would have been each other's support system where Jay and Spinner would become best friends.
I remember this show years ago it would come on channel 33 very early in the morning like 6 or 7 am or maybe 8 am.Drake on a teenager sitcom show 😂😂 He is wild now he is rich gangsta rapper 😂😂 This show reminds of kids in the suburb schools that i went to before i got kicked out and went to public schools in the inner cities major city.Now those schools were wild i went to a high school that had real project housing across the street and a tough neighborhood of hood houses behind the school 😂 Totally different environment than the suburbs

actually pisses me off that everyone seems to put all the blame on the bullies for the shooting when RICK HAD A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE. he put terry in a coma, and he's allowed to come back to school with all her friends and if they don't pretend nothing happened he'll SHOOT THEM???? for one he should never have been allowed back at degrassi given his past at the school, how are you ever going to expect that he won't be bullied for putting one of the most well-liked girls there in a coma? clearly trying to convince teachers/parents to transfer him didn't work so that's really all they could do to try and get him out of there. it was the adults' responsibility to deal with him when he initially abused and assaulted his girlfriend, everything that happened afterwards was a consequence of his parents and teachers being far too lenient.

Spinner lost his friend became shunned by the school and got expelled. Not to mention he has guilt remorseful regretted what happen. While Jay could care less. What happen was jay came up with everything and spinner went along with it till he found out it got jimmy shot. Spinner payed his dues and got his punishments while Jay got away with it. Yeah well word doesn't get around when it involves Jay. Because he was expelled too but he turned out great though he was working as a mechanic and hanging out with Sean and Spinner whenever they wanted to. But it's better to be with Jay's group.
