Oh the Irony - today was the very first day I dehydrated ANYTHING, and it was my bounty of Purple bumblebee and Brads atomic grape tomatoes. I'm using a Presto (round) lesser expensive dehydrator, however it worked great !!! It is like tomato candy. It is nice to know I will never waste another tomato. There are only two of us in the house so it is challenging to use up all my garden veggies. !!! Malia, so nice to see you on a video. You and your Dad make a great team !!!

This video inspired me to dehydrate some principe borghese tomatoes yesterday. Yum!!! Tasted much better than I expected and I just left them plain. Today I'm trying zucchini chips. I really like the idea of dehydrating garden veggies because them even if you have a power outage during the winter, they are safely stored away, unlike freezing things which takes more electricity everyday, and is subject to power failure. I'm going to dehydrate allthethings now. Thanks Maliah.

Try onion salt on your tomatoes. Young lady, well done! Can do peppers for chilli powders as well. Some things rehydrate better if frozen first, the freeze breaks the cell so moisture may evaporate faster and more evenly.

So sweet, now Malia is a sweety too. Not just Sweet Miah. Thanks for the info on the tomatoes, sweet and savory. Both sound yummy, I also take apple slices and shake them in cinnamon and sugar before dehydrating and they are great. Much love and respect, blessings.

I have an Excalibur with 5 trays and we have only ever used it for venison jerky. I started watching your channel a few months ago and it has inspired me to grow tomatoes again. I have several varieties of cherry tomato growing (zone 5b) and when the start producing to the point where I'm swimming them, I'm going to try dehydrating some. Thanks for the food lesson!

I just lost a hard drive yesterday! I was on the phone with Apple for 7 hours trying to fix it. I had ALL but ONE shoot backed up on two other hard drive thank goodness. And we were able to save the one shoot I needed! Don’t trash that drive. There are recovery options, I could even do it for you. And oh Man does that gal look like her daddy! Yum for the tomatoes!

I tried this last year after you mentioned you do this...I got my dehydrator for five dollars at a yard sale, so it took over a day *grin* , but the tomatoes were SO tasty. I learn all kinds of fun things from you, thanks again for being awesome, Jessica! (and everyone else too...)

Welcome to the channel. I LOVE dehydrated tomatoes! Also, after I dehydrate the bigger ones I use the blender and turn them into tomato powder...It adds great flavor to all sorts of things. Dehydrated food takes up very little space.
