Negative Emotions and Limiting Decisions are the bane of our existence; the chains that hold us back from what we could be in life (and in meditation). Let's take a look at the genius of Time Line Therapy, as discovered and taught by Tad James.

Forrest, I am a Neurolinguistic Programmer. I was trained thirty years ago by Andreas and Andreas. Tad James was somebody we referred to and darn it you ain't gonna do nothing without timeline therapy. The name Robert Dilts springs to mind too. What really got me was your mentioning meditation. This is the cornerstone of my life. It was such a pleasure to hear you make this connection. All of this is such a pleasure to hear you talk about it. It's a big thrill to hear you talk. Forrest, first I want to say that I'm considering you as my guru. I just started falling into spirituality and I've been looking around gathering knowledge so I can feel like I'm getting somewhere. I finally decided that I want to do is just what you talk about. I'm starting with meditation. So my first step is posture, next is heart Rate Rate Variability. I'm practicing now. I want to thank you for explaining things in just a way that I Get! Now I'm interested in the Time Line Therapy. When you first asked us to point to our past, I pointed to the east, because that's where I grew up. I just really thought, yep, that's the direction of my past. Then you said so where is your future. I pointed up. But I kept thinking that I was wrong pointing to where I grew up because what if I were still in the place where I grew up? I suppose I would point behind me, but it could be because I had time to think of it, analyzing I guess. Did you get that before? I cant wait to learn more about this type of therapy. But I feel like I'm off to a bad start or something. Anyway, Forrest, thank you very much again I'm really looking forward to your teachings. 🙏

Fantastic Debra, I love it. Try it this way think of something that happened a week ago and then point to it. Now think of something that happened two weeks ago and point to it. Now think of something that happened a month ago and now point to it. Did that give you a better idea of your past line? Now think of something that's going to happen in a week even if it is just brushing your teeth. Now something two weeks then three weeks you get the picture. Did that give you a better idea of your future line?

Yes, it's usually that way for everyone. You really have to see it before you can "grok" it. Before you see it, it's just a theory, which doesn't fit with conventional beliefs about the personality and negative states. It works, rather, with the understanding of the mind's plasticity.
@ForrestKnutson

@@AspergersversusNeurotypicals that's a great thought. Those drugs are great at breaking one out of their self repeating story, and so setting them free enough, for long enough, that they see they don't have to be chained to the past. ... The major problem I see is that it weakens resistance to certain states of mind, and so lessens control on when and where you want to have an experience. ... I've used Time Line Therapy in abuse instances with fantastic results, and I know Tad James used it on a wartime doctor who had PTSD with full recovery. In my mind there is more effective therapy. The only problem is that so few know of it. .... Great question, and I hope I shed some light on it!

Forrest I am a long time subscriber, first time commenting on your wonderful channel. I am very grateful to you for continuing the work of great Kriya Yogis like Lahiri Mahashaya and Sri Yukteshwar. I have a question on time line therapy and would appreciate it a great deal if you can answer. It is abundantly clear that TLT is quite effective in getting over negative thought and emotional patterns but is it effective in taking away physical pain as pain is also a form of stuck energy? Hope to hear your thoughts on it. Namaste!
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson Год назад
The best way to use TLT is to think about the problem, and then find all of the negative emotions associated with the problem. Then go through each of those and release them through TLT. Then see if the problem is still standing or if it has imploded like a house of cards. I would try that if you wanted to see if it could make a difference. Recently I went through some tremendous pain and I OMed directly into the feeling of pain. I was overjoyed to find that the pain subsided dramatically and in some cases disappeared. It didn't solve the problem, but it made the problem remarkably easier to bear and a working strategy to go along with the other good actions I was doing to get over the problem.

I'm really not good with the spontaneous response thing. Does that mean the answer is not that important? This has been a stumbling block for me. How can I convince myself that it is on to give a spontaneous response and not question the validity of it. My mind says if it is important we must take some thought before resounding.

Hi Delia! The stiff neck is probably from sitting for long periods, and the neck muscles are unused to it. A little heating cream, or warm water, or massage, or chiropractic for the neck might be a good fix. ... The skull on the other hand, can be a result of the rising prana into the brain. Hey Forest, I'm busy reading Time Line Therapy & The Basis of Personality by Tad James (as recommended by you) and in it he breaks down memory management, whereby going back to a memory of the past, deleting it, and replacing it with a new 'good' memory. How is this different from the method of going floating back to the past event, dipping into it, then going back to a time before that and looking at the present in order to relieve the negative impression from the memory? At this point, they seem like they achieve the same goal. Is it just that memory deletion is perhaps an approach to use when the latter doesn't work, or vice-versa? It's also quite interesting, I seem to be a bit of Through Time and In Time - my timeline is like a flattened 'M' more or less. From 0-10 It goes from back to front, then from 10-20 it goes from left to right, from 20-30 it goes from back to front (through my chest), and from 30+ it goes from left to right.
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson 3 года назад
There is a method to forget a memory. But it's not really recommended. I'd have to re-read the section that you're talking about. Usually what Tad is talking about, is the process I'm presenting. Or, this is the final version of the same process. We don't really delete the happening. We delete the negative emotion, and it often drastically changes what we perceive of the past situation. The happening stays the same, but we see it much more clearly. ... That's a cool time line!
@silverlake973
@silverlake973 3 года назад
@@ForrestKnutson oh okay, I see. From reading the book I presumed there were different ways of using the timeline depending on the person, e.g. PTSD, child abuse (causing gaps), replacing a bad memory, or implanting a future memory, etc. It's page 32 'group time line manuscript' in case you're still wondering. It's running through deletion and replacement of a past memory and implanting a future memory/scenario right after, so not sure how this is used in relation to the regular TLT.

This is not the only timeline therapy video and so there's an entire walkthrough which takes you through the process and then there's another walk through for anxiety in the future so check those out I think that's what you're looking for

Just so you know, there are a lot of squealing sounds in this, and some other videos, that are quite distracting.
