When I lived in Japan, I literally lived above a bakery. Directly next door was an ice-cream shop. Every morning the smell would overwhelm my apartment forcing me to purchase whatever the hell they were baking. My first morning in Japan I had a curry bun. I was shocked. It was my first time eating a savory pastry. It was delicious. I miss my old place and that bakery....

When you've watched all of the Simon and Martina videos and you try going back to watch old videos to quench your need for content but you've watched all of those ones too. :'( Can any long time Nasty's relate?

When I lived in Japan I used to just buy a ton of savory and sweet pastries for dinner and I lovingly called it BREADFEAST. Don't judge.

Martina not noticing she ate the bacon reminded me of that SpongeBob episode where Patrick accuses SpongeBob of eating his chocolate after they stole a balloon and were on the run. "I think I'll eat it now" *omnonomnom* "aghhhh.......I think I'll eat it now" *bites hand* "Ow, huh? What? Where's my chocolate?!?!"

Simon, I want to say I'm very sorry for assuming it was you who ate Martina's bacon but in my defense this would not be the first time you've gotten greedy with food lolol

One of my favourite things is watching the people in the background who literally almost stop what they're doing to watch you guys.

Japanese bakeries offer loads of stuff that I'm not used to eating back home, so we figured we'd grab a bunch of random baked goods and show you what they're all about!

I wanted to just take a moment to let you know how much I appreciate your channel. My partner who also has EDS turned me on to your channel and we often watch your videos together. Your relationship very much reminds us of our own and it is incredibly heart warming to watch how the two of you love and enjoy one another.

My favorites are Mexican pastries called concha and empanada. I love pumpkin and apple empanadas and a concha is fluffy bread that look like shells. They're simple, but I've loved them since I was a kid.

I just worked 36+ hrs straight on my thesis in my campus studio. I mustered all me energy to bike home finally, grabbed a banana bread from my corner bodega, and cracked open a beer to unwind. When I was a kid in Japan, my family was on a super tight budget (my father was a PhD student in Kyoto University). We used to walk to a nearby bakery and they would give us a bag of plain pan for free, every day :) I remember the amazing smell coming out from the bakery, I always wanted to try all the different things in there but we never could afford it. A few years later, I went to Tokyo for an internship and I got to try baked goods in many bakeries! They were all amazing, indeed.

I've been watching Simon and Martina for so long - they were the first content creators I subscribed to - and the longer I watch them, the more I fall in love with them! I dunno if it's cuz i grew up watching them as a teen, but, as cliche as this may sound, Simon and Martina are as close to relationship goals as they get for me 😊

I ate a melon bread from a convenience store and it was sooo good! It was really weird at first cause I didn't expect to taste so much like melon, but it was super delicious!

That cat bun straight up reminded me of Luna from Sailor Moon. RIP Luna XD

The crows part made me chuckle. KAAWW! Actually, fun fact, my teacher told me once why the japanese crows are way bigger and jacked up. It's because they are some species of mountain crows that came down to the cities, not the same ones that we have in Europe. They are also super smart.

My husband and l absolutely LOVE your videos. Dedicated foodies like yourselves we watched your video about the Boloniya bread, OMG when we were in Japan we rode our bikes in the rain to find this place, when we eventually got there we bought about $40 Australian dollars worth of bread and ate it that day. This memory will stay with us for the rest of our lives. We are now planning our next trip back, to eat our way through, we are obsessed with the food, people and culture there, you both are so lucky to be living there! And I've always wanted to just try EVERYTHING from those bakeries - all the buns and bread!!! I went to japan last year, but I didn't have the chance to go to a bakery. AAANNNDDD this is why I've gained so much weight living in Japan...

When I was in Japan, I had a few favorite baked good. There was a cheesecake I had that was amazing, a waffle filled with matcha ice cream, and an amazing white birthday cake with strawberries that my travel group got me. I have to say that Japanese baked goods are my favorite of all baked goods I have tried! Just the right amount of sweetness and not to over powering.

I love how you guys actually talk about the food and explain it like what it’s made of, the experience of eating it, and you have some knowledge about the foods you buy to eat on camera. It’s not just two people buying food they’ve never tried before and saying “ oh that’s good, I like that” and then moving on. Love you guys already and I’m pretty new to your channel!

Since the beginning of my little baker life I have been in love with the delight that is meringue. Fluffy clouds that are crunchy and delicate on the outside but soft, airy, and sticky on the inside and can be put with any variety of things. So much yummy fruit, with whipped cream or custard on top, in the middle, pair it with ice cream or hot chocolate. That is how I will get fat in my later years, just constantly eating this delicious concoction of egg whites and sugar.
