You're right. We call the vegetable Okazi or Afang in Nigeria. The "Eru" soup is more or less the same with "Afang soup" in Nigeria. The thinly sliced Eru leaves are cooked together with water leaves to give a delicious soup. Okazi soup (also from the same vegetable) is prepared differently.

I think it taste better on wood 🪵 burning stove because of the woody and smoky infusion into the dish, when we bbq on coal grills, imho it always taste better than when on gas.
