Jed! His wanderlust will serve him well when he is older, but as a kid...oh. Lol This recipe is amazing! I could easily see swapping out lemons for orange or raspberry (and corresponding liquor). Can’t wait to try!
As a mom, soon as you said, "I realized, jed wasn't there..." my heart leapt for you, thank god you guys found him quickly and everything was ok, I had secondhand anxiety for you during that part of the video, that's the scariest thing ever when you're a parent!!
Yes!! I would be super interested in a little history video about Pompeii! Maybe even try to remake some sort of bread or dish around that era would be SO fantastic, hitting both my history and food cravings.
I'm from Castellammare di Stabia, a place VERY near to both Salerno and Sorrento, and I'm really into cakes and desserts. Now, you know how much the food culture means to us italians, so let me congratulate you for the recipe. You remained consistent with the true recipe, and this is just a blessing for my eyes and for the rest of Italy's. Amazing, thanks for spreading our culture, and for bringing a tiny part of us with you
I am so impressed that you told the experience about losing Jed. As a parent, you want the outside world to think we are perfect and that those things can never happen to you but even when we try our hardest, our kids can surprise us. So glad he was found safe and sound and so glad everyone is happy healthy. Thank you for sharing your experiences as mom with us. We all can learn from your love and patience. ❤
When Ann mentions keeping eye and hands on Jed: Huh. I wonder why she mentioned that. Well, I am glad to hear more about their travels. Ann saying that they lost Jed: OH NO!! Found him: Glad he is back safe! It was a rollercoaster!
Came here for the recipe (as I always do) and found myself in tears. We lost our youngest for a half hour when he was 18 months. Wandered out of the garage when we were unloading the car. Longest and most terrifying time of my life. He’s a healthy and crazy five year old now and we LOVE to watch your videos and bake together! Thank you for sharing
I was all smiles halfway through the vlog until ypu said that Jed was not with you guys. I teared up once you guys found him. Thank God. 😊 what a relief.
Even though I knew you must have found him, my heart still skipped a beat when he was lost. I had a similar situation happen with my son at the zoo I thought my husband had him and my husband thought I had him. I have some gray hairs specifically from that day.
Me too lemon isn't exactly native to where I'm from but I absolutely love lemon desserts there's something about the slight sourness that enhances the sweetness it just has such a refreshing flavor
He prayed!!! What a good boy! And thank you for sharing that story. My littles love watching your videos and they were so happy he prayed and was safe.
Dear Ann, From from Momma to another, I know the utter and complete fear that encompasses the entirety of your being, when a child goes missing. I'm so thankful, that your Jed was found (praise God)! Much Love and Blessed Be 💕 P.S. Now, I'll finish watching the video, that my tears have ceased.
Hi Ann! I'm actually from Italy, and I'm so glad you've come to my country! Watching your tutorials of italian desserts is very interesting, because I live in the north of Italy, and I've never been to the south, and although I've always heard about cannoli and many other desserts, I've actually never tasted them! Hope you enjoy your trip, and I'm glad you found your son❤
Didn't expect to cry while watching a dessert video!! Glad all was well. I'm not a mom, or a dad, rather, but I lost sight of my little sister once at the Atlanta airport and nearly collapsed when I found her. It was only about 2 minutes, but it felt like an eternity.
How To Cook That I was thinking, could you do a tour of your house? That would be really cool. Also I finally got my friends to watch one of your videos- one of them subscribed !!!!!! ( I’m only 12)
When you said “let’s celebrate Jed being found” that reminded me of the prodigal son and how he celebrated his son when he went and was lost. Such a joy ❤️
I teared up during the part where you were looking for your son. My 4 year old, non-verbal, son somehow got separated from us in a busy museum last year on our family vacation and it was 15 minutes of pure panic for my husband and I. Thankfully a kind woman brought him to the security office. I felt your relief when you found him. I’m so happy everything turned out ok for you.
Oh yum this looks so good!! So glad Jed was found and that he was safe! My heart skipped when you said he wasn't with you 😨 you have such a cute sweet family! Blessings from the US 💛
I want to get a degree in anthropology, though I'm more interested in evolutionary anthropology. Unfortunately, college is expensive, and I'm extremely poor and a high school dropout.
I'm coming back to this old video to say I tried this earlier, whilst out wandering in Rome. It was fantastic, and everyone who tried it with me agreed. I'm so glad I remembered you loving it when I saw it on the menu
I wanted to tell you how much you have inspired me to get back into doing desserts and things again, I went to small culinary school a couple of years out of high school and graduated but hen life got in the way and I had my daughter and being a single mom I had to find better paying jobs to make ends meet. I found your channel a couple of years ago and it just gave me the inspiration to start getting back into it. I look forward to you videos every week. So thank you so much!!!
Oh my goodness I cried when you said he prayed and you found him.... a parent’s worst nightmare. I know I’m watching a really old video but I’m so happy you found him. I used to work at an Italian restaurant here in the U.S. and my absolute favorite dessert was the lemon delicacy which looks like this. Yes, such a wonderful, delicate dessert. They aren’t around anymore and I still think about it! So excited to try this recipe! Mmm! Love your channel!
Ok, I need to go to Sorrento to eat that, because it looks so fussy to make. Not hard, but so many components and steps. I love lemon desserts and can only imagine how good Delizie al Limone must be.
My heart dropped to my feet when you said Jed was lost! I'm not a parent but I'm super close to my niece and nephews and younger sister, if anything would happen to them my soul would break. I love how Jed prayed and you guys found him! This had a happy ending and a great recipe. ( You may want to hold everyone's hand the next time you go out on you vacation I'm only teasing)
I searched everywhere for this recipe because I had forgotten the name of it and now I stumbled upon it by coincidence while discovering your chanel. Wonderful!
Oh Ann and Dave! We have been there with regards to a lost child. We were relocating from literally the east coast of Canada to the West coast. We chose a few places to stop for a few days. In beautiful Banff, Alberta we took the children for a walk to explore the gift shops and we all turned into a shop but one. Fortunately we had only walked a few blocks from our hotel and were on the same street as the hotel. Our daughter, who missed the turn into the shop, realized we were separated and knew we were still on the same street as the hotel and returned to the hotel and asked the front desk for assistance in calling my cell. But for several moments our hearts were frozen. Joy, cuddles and pride in our daughter for doing what she did! Aren't kids amazing!?!
Thanks for finding Jed. I'm not a parent but I was freaked out when you said that you lost him. I'm so glad he's ok I hope one day I can try the recipe
That's so great that Jed prayed and you found him!! I'm not a parent but a kid myself and once my family accidentally left me behind on the beach when I was young and I know how horrible that feeling is!! Loved the video and please do a video of Pompeii!
Ann im gonna be honest, half the time when i watch your videos i have no idea what you're doing or why but every single video is just so satisfying to me
It must have been a horrible moment for all your family when Jed kept walkeing and got lost, I'm glad you found him again, I lost my little cousin on the city once, it feels like the world stops
I know just what to do with the lemons growing on the tree I inherited now. I used to just give most of them away before. Now I'll give the desserts away. Love the recipe! And while I personally don't know what it is to find your child missing, I know I got misplaced during a book fair when I was little and the way my parents tell it, and I can see it on their faces even when I ask now almost 20 years later, that it was the most terrifying time in their life. I'm so glad Jed was found. I hope nobody of you have to go through that again.
I’m watching this for the first time and am brought to tears with relief you found your son! That scene where you realize he’s not with you is so real.
Yes, do a video on Pompeii. I went there this past summer and loved it. Would love to see someone else's pov, especially with how you walked around on those massive stones. I'm curious to see what your favorite motif is. Oh man, so glad you found Jed.
Ann, you are such an inspiration and, for some reason I find your videos satisfying to watch I know..... I'm weird😂😂By the way I am from Singapore. Moral of the story: I LOVE Ann Reardon and her videos!!
I want to try this so bad! I might just have to make it! Fabulous video Ann! So so talented. So glad you were able to find Jed! 💛💛💛 such a heart-stopping moment.
I'm italian and I loved the way you talked about our beautiful Sorrento. Also, I'm not a chef nor an expert baker, but for sure I will try this recipe with our homemade limoncello (we also have "arancello", made out of oranges, and "mandarello" out of clementine/tangerine): I've always been so scared to try this out because to me italian pastry seemed impossible to replicate, but somehow, watching you nailing it inspired me! Thank you so much for all your videos
sorrento is beautiful. Italy is beautiful. I went earlier this year and have been trying desperately to get back ever since lol. I love it there so much
