Chef Roland! Pls share which brand black bean paste u used? Can't remember which brand it was tt I use previously; not only it's very salty but black bean smell was overpowering.

Looks delicious! It's really hard to find black bean paste near me (even online) but I have seen a Korean black bean paste (chunjang), any idea if it's similar enough to substitute?
It looks simple yet delicious. If the rice is not quite done, should I add a bit water and continue cooking? Or just keep on cooking until it’s fully cooked? Thanks for the great recipe.

I like the dish very much! Can I replace the black bean sauce with "Doubanjiang", or does it change the taste too much? I always have "Doubanjiang" in stock because I love Sezchuan dishes. The other sauce I would have to buy extra. I also have fermented black beans. Can I make such a paste with it? ❤
Hey! Ich erlaube mir mal zu antworten, wahrscheinlich wurde das Gericht schon gekocht 😊 Doubanjiang ist ja eine scharfe Paste, die würde ich nicht nehmen :) Aus den fermentierten schwarzen Bohnen eine Paste machen sollte hinhauen! Liebe Grüße 👋🏼

I am going to make this, but the black bean sauce would have to be shipped from overseas and is not practical. Would Lee Kum Kee product be OK? It's sold as Black Bean Garlic Sauce.
