This easy homemade strawberry sauce recipe comes together quickly and is made with only 3 ingredients! Strawberry sauce is a perfect on ice cream, cheesecakes, shortcakes, and so many other baked goods or breakfast items like waffles & pancakes. I used thawed frozen strawberries, but feel free to use fresh strawberries to make this easy strawberry sauce. You can always adjust the sugar ratio depending on how sweet you would like this strawberry sauce to be. Frozen strawberries usually need additional sugar since they are usually not as sweet and the color will be slightly lighter than if using fresh strawberries. Stir this strawberry sauce frequently while it simmers to ensure it cooks evenly and to control the thickness of it. Depending on how thick you would like this strawberry sauce to be, cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, but note that the strawberry sauce will thicken when cooled. Store this strawberry sauce in the refrigerator for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 3 months in a freezer safe container.
