Honest opinion, its a really good laptop. I literally had no problems with mine at all. RTX 3050 with 120 hz, I get it there's better pcs and laptops but honestly this is worth the money. Without a doubt the best purchase I've made
Yours was cheaper. He paid over $1200. I paid $840 for the R5 3050. The screen kind of sucks, the speakers are worse than anything but damn it's an awesome laptop otherwise.
@@elephant1851 right click on the screen and select amd radeon software....go into settings (gear)(top right side).....select Display....select custom color and enable color temperature control.....(u can click a picture of the original settings)...increase color temperature to your preferred number by comparing it with another display or opening RU-vid (my preference is 8400) and play around with brightness (i went with -2 )
Obviously stated by someone who can afford a couple grand for a laptop. Some of us are stuck at under $1k. With a couple minor upgrades (memory and storage) this is a decent laptop for the money.
Good point but my point is to not waste your $1K+ on this. If you're strapped on a budget then you should be looking at the 20 series which performs better than this (without RT). Don't get a 3050 laptop just for the sake of the saying you have a 30 series. Get one that can perform to your standard.
I have the G15 with AMD Ryzen 7 5800h, RTX 3060, 16GB Ram and 500 GB SSD. And i find, this is one of the best laptops 2021. I have no problems with mine and all my games running perfectly.
Just make sure you get it for under $1K. That's the only way I'd purchase this again. Also, check Dell's outlet site, if available, as you can get refurbished Alienware machines for the same or maybe a little more that are built and performs better.
@@kuro.editzzz i would not recommend it, i had the one with the 3050ti and it just began to have so much problems. i called dell and they sent me a replacement with the 3060 and the “new” laptop was the worse than the previous one, worst experience with dell never again!
I mean not everyone has the finances to experience the $2000+ asking price of "premium" machines. Aesthetics are a personal thing and its one of my favorite looking gaming laptops around. It's gamery but not in the cringe way some manufacturers go overboard with: its understated and "chill" imo. The texture is nice to the touch to me, and for the $800 sale going on rn I'm glad I grabbed one. It feels like a tank compared to the Ideapad 3, which is a great laptop too but I'd feel safer lugging this around and accidentally dropping it
For $800, yes, that's a great price, but not for the newly released price of $1300w/taxes I paid for it. I even had somebody message me and said they paid $650 for one. That's the price range where this laptop should've been from the beginning. There are other laptops out there that were the same price or maybe a little more (but certainly not $2K) that outperformed and were built much better. Look no further than an used ASUS G14 which is about $1000 now. BUT, Dell's CS is superior and they have the $$$ backing so if you have issues with it, you should be good.
@@ProTechShawn Yah $1300 is way too much even for when it came out. Like Apple Dell does like to price their machines higher for the brand name, especially true with Alienware. At the very least I'm glad that now its a reasonably priced alternative for an Alienware shell which is a selling point for people who like the way those computers look.
I found mine on BestBuy's site at $700. Haven't had a single issue since setup. The catch: I use an external mic, kb+m, monitor, and headset stand (2 usb ports). Also I have no issue with the grey color, I love the material feel as well. I had a $300 certified pre-owned HP i3-8xxx with 8GB of RAM and 1TB HDD beforehand. This was definitely a quality upgrade for me. With tweaking fan curves, I will be able to keep this laptop cool as well. Fan noise isn't an issue for me, I could care less as long it doesn't thermal throttle. Don't get me wrong, you're reviewing based off of other products you have had come through. And that's completely justified. If you want, you could make a couple caveats in your vids for people like me that just need it as a base system if you can find it at a good sale price. Some of us are extremely non picky other than the specs we 100% need. So it's aight that you can't think of a review for everyone.
I bought the version with a max P 3060, 16gb ram, 500gb ssd and the 165hz panel (which is supposed to be much better than the 120hz) for only $1,074 before tax during a July 4th sale. I bought it for my GF as her first gaming laptop. She loves it! I thought it was a great deal overall. It actually performs extremely well, surprisingly. It gave my recently sold 2021 scar 17 with a 3070 a run for its money when gaming at 1080p. I’m sure it performs much better than the 3050 ti version. But yeah, there are definitely some compromises with it. My GF wouldn’t be able to tell tho 😅
The G15 (165Hz) is great. The 130w 3060 will outperform the 85w 3070.I've had no problems with mine and use an external 1440p display. It can handle any modern aaa game with ease. I also disabled boost and my temps NEVER go above 75/75. Boost off I get 8700 in timespy and with boost on 9150. The 5155 g15 is a killer laptop.
I have the Dell G15 Ryzen edition with the 5800H and 130w 3060, 16gb ram and it's the best PC/Laptop I've ever owned.. it's blazing fast, Great value and I have no issues at all with it.. I got the 120hz screen as that's all that's available in Australia but I don't find the screen as bad as others make it out to be.. I also love the colour and design.. I did plenty of research before purchasing it and am.very happy with it
@@tac6044 Absolutely.. They are an amazing laptop for the $$ I got mine direct from Dell and it was either 10 or 15% off from memory, which came to less than $2k AUD Which is phenomenal - other similarly specced laptops were $350+ dearer without a mux switch like the ASUS TUF.. and I actually sold my ASUS TUF to purchase the Dell G15 is miles ahead in every aspect from build quality to fan noise, compatibility etc than my ASUS was. I must say though your temps at 75degrees Celcius are amazing, how did you get those temps? Every review I have seen they say it gets to high 90s and even 100... I bought the Targus chill cooling pad for mine, mainly for ergonomics and the ability to use it in bed, on the couch etc. My temps were high 90s CPU and mid 80s GPU before the pad under full heavy load and with the pad it runs about 8 degrees cooler on both CPU and GPU.. AMD have stated the 5800H will happily run in the 90s 24/7 as they are built too, and Dell sets the thermal limit high for maximum performance so I'm not concerned at all about the temps, but would love to know how yours runs at 75? Or is that not underload ? Mine runs very cool when just web browsing, watching Netflix or using MS Office etc - the fans don't even kick in as it runs so cool.

Da hell you talking about? Dell Ryzen 5600h Rtx 3050 8gb runs Triple A titles pretty fine on medium at constant 50-60 fps and temps are pretty good too. So i wanna know what you been smoking recently.
I think I said that in the review. I recommended to not try to push it anything past that. Don’t be upset because I beat up on it. You paid for it, enjoy it. And MJ is legal now. 😂😂😂
@@vamc_krishna the Dell G15 is a great laptop, great design, great looks and the best price to performance ratio out of every low to mid range laptop. it's just the 3050 and even the 3050ti are very poor performers, even the older 1660ti wipes the floor with it... On the other hand if you get it configured with the 130w 3060 and 5800H it out performs the lower wattage 3070 laptops.. the mobile 3060 max-P has even more cuda cores than the desktop 3060..
nahhh, bad review man. way too critic, and most of what you said in the video is not really true. most of the owners of these machines are quite happy with them as they are really good value for the money and also powerful enough machines to run almost anything you throw at them.
Ha ha ha okay man I watched this review. I'm having the exact opposite impression of this laptop. I hate Dell but think they did great with this one, almost all other reviewers agree. You need to do better at benchmarking, you spent almost no time on it. The benchmarking you did is greatly underwhelming. I also suspect you are running with less than optimal settings. I get killer performance from mine. On a 1440p monitor there hasn't been one single aaa game it has struggled with including Cyberpunk. Cyberpunk is the hardest game to run on the planet and I get over 60fps high at 1440p. Most other games over 100fps at 1440p. Hell I can post my timespy scores for verification. Dell deserves hate but not for this laptop. I also think the design is great along with the aesthetic look. The 165hz screen is far above average and the build quality is better than anything else at this price. You're tripping!
I agree with this post. There's a 165hz, a 3060 RTX and at this price point I don't u can find anything better. Whatever you find better would definitely be more expensive and that's a different consideration. This reviewer too bitter and too constrained!
Ive been rocking the Ryzen 7 Rtx3060 for the past 5 or 6 months now and I've had no problems at all except the fans kicking on at full pelt for a few seconds but it was easily fixed in the Alienware command center. It breezes through triple A games set at max with no fuss.
@@1sraQ nah, runs like a beast. if you really care about temps, just set it to low settings. even games like GTAV my temps aren’t anything over 140f. and honestly visually i can’t tell the difference, but i’m not too into visuals!
I'm using one right now, but did the colors on yours seem off to you? On mine, the brightness really isn't great and I noticed some colors seem very dull.
Hi guys, need some help to decide between 2 laptops: Lenovo Legion 7 slim with Ryzen 5800H or a Dell G15 5510 with i7-10870H? Both are RTX3060. Lenovo is 165hz while Dell is 120hz. Lenovo has 16Gb RAM while Dell is at 32Gb (I'm not really inclined to upgrade). Equal amount of editing work and gaming, not heavy on either. They're at the same price where I'm at (just about $40 difference) and those are the best available choices on stock within my budget.
When I first got the computer I noticed that it did have some issues freezing and running slowly. After a while it stopped and now runs smoothly and no issues. First thing I did was upgrade ram to 32gb. I love having the plugs on the back.
I just bought the 1tb ssd 32gb ram version for a little over a grand. Can't wait for it to arrive to test it out. Not a gamer but plan to do some light video editing and vector graphics.
Is the Lenovo legion 5 better than the dell? I want it for long term use. Last time I had a Lenovo laptop. The screen had issues. Spent alot to repair ended up spoiled again
I bought one for 850$ 11800h. 16gb ram. 3050. 512ssd. 120hz screen. Honestly… it ain’t anything special. Even at First turn on, I noticed loading times already just trying to open menus and such. Screen is dog crap. But I hook it up too tv anyways. 3050 with 4gb vram. Just isn’t enough for anything in the future. I’m gonna be returning it and looking for something with more vram. And probably a 20 series or 3060+
Can you tell me about how it's working ? Any issues that you faced with it ? How is gaming or just normal performance on it ? Please share your experience till now, I'd really appreciate it :) I'm planning on buying the exact variant. So I'd like to know.
I recommend getting at least the AMD Ryzen 7 CPU with the RTX 3060 GPU and 16GB RAM config for a healthy experience. There is roughly a 45% difference in performance between the 3050 and 3060 GPU.
Ok i am planning on getting the acer nitro 5 with the 1650 gpu all I want to play on it is valorant cod games and fortnite nothing big should I pull the trigger or get some thing more expensive like this laptop??
Dude I played hitman 3 and it ran pretty good no lag at all but I paid right about 1000$ after tax it’s worth it I have the 8gb but you can expand to 16gb which is what I’m gonna do
Try Dell's outlet site if you have to have a Dell or Alienware. With all these new laptops being released, eBay can be your best bet in securing a machine way better than this one for at or less than your budget.
Dell G15 is $875 at Best Buy Asus G14 is $1150 today. With the roughly $300 I saved I was able to put in on a nice TV so I think its worthwhile since the price is right. Besides realistically I'm only going to be using it while on travel anyways. No need to break the bank on something that's only going to get used a couple times a year.
True and that’s an ideal use case for the money but, there was a time where they were both $1150 as the G14 has been on sale off and on throughout the year. For travel, the G14 would be at the top of my list out of any laptop, regardless of specs only because of the size to performance ratio.
@@ProTechShawn Haha I understand lol you can’t recommend everything. To be honest though if I wasn’t getting TV I might have gotten the Asus, but priorities lol. Also I heard they had a bios update not long ago that resolved some of its issues. We’ll see I guess.
Bro it might be that the one you got had problem. I have been using this laptop for over a year and have seen no problems with it still working smoothly.
@@zainesmith2032 yup man for $830 you can go with it. Or if you find any better laptop than this surely go for it but as per my suggestion this laptop se best in you price range.
Why would you want more than this in a laptop? Buy a desktop for performance lol. Just ordered the newer version with 4800mhz ddr5, AMD Ryzen 7 6800H, 3050TI for $1026 after taxes. Can't beat that deal. This is a laptop, not my desktop with 5120x1440P resolution . Simply need a machine that runs decently on the go, i'd rather dump extra cash to upgrade a part in my desktop then spend anymore than I did. Cant believe the ram is faster than my desktop thought lol.
Bought a laptop Dell G15 5515 and it has Ryzen 5 5600h and rtx 3050, but 90 watts and it is more powerful in terms of video card, but the battery lasts an hour or two maximum, when watching movies.
Best is a relative term but I guess it depends on your prior experiences with other laptops. But to each his own, If you like it, I love it. Happy gaming!!

I tell people this ALL the time. There's a reason they have a "chat" button on the check out page. Most of the time, just for chatting with them, you can get 2-5% off. Not much, but it's better than nothing. Dell even discount the laptops on their outlet site so there's even more room for savings.
Also look out for coupon codes in the ad itself, Mine was on sale for $680 and they had a 17% coupon on the product page which brought it down to around $530 before tax and fees.

I bought this 2 days ago, in the same store I asked for a ram and nvm2 update, now I have 1 TB nvm2 and 16 ram (which is not enough for me, now I know it), my impressions: - It got frozen twice when I was downloading LoL, so frustrating the first day. - I can play warzone but, with only 16gb ram I cant go to ultra quality yet, keep that in mind. I mean, maybe you can if you close all your apps. But I dont like to do that. - I hate to not have rgb, I just realized that. - I hate Windows 11 (first time using it) , my hyperx software doesn't works there, havent tried my logitech software yet, but I am expecting same result. -------------- In the other hand, I think gamers can enjoy very well this laptop playing at 120 fps most of time (this become a rule with a few updates, except with flight simulator and ram demanding games, where you will need a huge update of ram). But I guess I am not so gamer... Probably I am mostly just a code developer... And this is too much for me... Coming from my Lenovo with 6 years old that still works perfectly even battery...

AMD Ryzen 7 + RTX 3060 + 16 GB RAM is a good config. High end gamers are trying 32 GB RAM but I think 16 should be enough. I’d rather go higher in GPU for high end gaming. I’d upgrade to a 3070 instead of more onboard RAM.
