Thanks man. I repaired dell inspiron 11 series 3000 using your methode with IPA. I spilled liquid on the motherboard. Rapid evaporation of the fluid was observed.
I have the n5010 and it says it's charging but doesn't send any charge to the battery. Everything shows as if it's working but it doesn't charge the battery. Any ideas?
First try with good known character. The one you are using can have a faulty id pin and may not work properly. Also can be a faulty battery. Try to charge the battery with the laptop turned off.
@@LaptopDisassembly Tried 2 different chargers. Both work fine on other laptops. Battery is brand new. Was doing this with the old battery too. It detects the battery is there and says it's charging but doesn't send any current to it
Hi thanks for this video. I have the same laptop from a client and the problem is it's turning off by itself. Your video helped me test for shorts, test the 19v, 3.3v and 5v which are present. Now I can come to the conclusion that the fault can be with the pch because this one gets hot when I touch it, or the fault can be with the cpu but I don't have a spare to test it. If it is a faulty pch can the laptop still be repaired? Thank you! :)
First try to power on the laptop only with charger and with the battery disconnected. Most of the times is broken middle pin on the charger. Test with different charger.
Hello i made the same procedure on my n5010 inspiron i remove the capacitor then try to switch but its nothing. Not working as is same problem no indicator lights no lights at all.
The short can be on the main bord, not the power bord. Separate the two boards and plug the power adapter. If the light of the adapter go off the problem is the power bord, otherwise the short is on the main board.
I have the same laptop. When I try charging when the laptop is off it lights charging then after a while it's off. I have failed to charge it when it's on. It can't even power when I've plugged in without battery. Any help?
@@LaptopDisassembly Thank you, my friend, I have removed the capacitor and the device is now working. Does a problem occur later because of removing this capacitor?
I attempted a remote bios update from A08 to A15, and user shut it off after screen went black for 5min after reboot. Now the board seems dead. No LEDs. No response. Nothing. Can a failed bios update do this?
Thanks for replying. Yes, I updated from Windows. I tried resetting the bios by removing the cmos cr2032 battery. I also tried the flash drive FAT (16) hdr/rom bios recovery using End key. It seems completely dead, but power adapter tests well with the multi-meter.
Hy there.i have a question regarding to this.My laptop stopped working..i had DC Jack problems...i ordered a new one..changed it.and still no life in the laptop.what do you recommended?! Thank you
Few questions 1. How did you determine that the dc jack is the problem 2. Did you replace with the same one 3. Do the laptop work on battery or not 4. Did you test with good known working adapter ( dell one, not HP one) 5. Did you messure some voltages on the board, do you have 5v, 3v etc...
Thank you for replying..the Jack on the power board was messed up already before but the laptop was working fine.I used my Laptop ( without the baterry because it doesn't hold the power anymore.about 2 week ago i connected a camera via USB (the one that's on the dc board and i think it made a short circuit because it just stopped suddenly.after a week i ordered a new DC power board but still nothing. No i didn't check any voltages because i'm not specialist in that.however i do have little bit of knowledge about "fixing Tower PC's.This was first time to disassembe a laptop.any advice or anything i could try without to much complications?!
Check abound that usb. For physical damage. You probably have damage on the 5v power rail. If you have multimeter try messing on the big coils. Plug the adapter and messure. On some of them you should have 3.3v, 5v. If they are available than the jack is fine. Look the board for damage from that usb.
@@LaptopDisassembly I have taken out the old Power board..yes there is a little bit of physical damade, very small blackness arround the PR306 diode..but what i don't get is why is it not working with the new one i ordered?that one hasn't got any physical damage and it's exactly same model DG15 IO 09697-1 like the old one.i vould show you a picture if i could.well,i guess it goes to the graveyard and i have to buy a new laptop.i was just trying to fix it as cheap as possible but no success unfortunately.and i am sure it doesn't have a big issue. It's quite an old laptop.or maybe service might help.Thank you anyways.Good job with the tutorials
Usually the diodes are for protection. Having a darkness around the old one, means that there may be a problems after it. If you like you can send me a photos of the board ( both sides and on focus pleace ) the email is on the contact section
@@LaptopDisassembly sorry i couldn't find any email adress in the contact section.I'm afraid that the motherboard has sufferd some short as well not just the power board.i also tried holding the power button for about 1 min.without the baterry or power cable inside the laptop and tried to turn it on but still nothing.if you could send me an email adress where to attach the photos i would be grateful.thank you again!
