Just remove the obvious 4 screws that hold it on, then pry off with fingernails, old credit card, or plastic pry instrument. Once the panel is removed, the cmos battery plug, with three wires, red, white and black will be visible. The cmos battery is tucked under the light grey laptop body shell, immediately an inch or so to the left of the memory, (with hinge facing you). Pull it out gently, it's usually stuck in there with a small square of two sided tape. Next unplug the red white and black wired tiny plug, and it's out.------ Replace the battery, then on reassembly, be careful putting the screws back in, differentiating between short and long screws and matching shallow and deep locations where the scews go.

Remove battery, remove lower cover, remove right hand cover, fetch out bios battery, replace bios battery, replace replace covers and main battery, DONE. 12 minutes first time.

One more thing. If you pull that CPU/HeatSink you better have some thermal paste to put on it before you reattach it. I'd hate to put this thing back together and it fails to boot up because of a CPU/Heatsink issue.
