Still a nice capable machine! All that dust, cough. A usb 3 card would be a handy upgrade too, for not much money. I'd want to turn one of them into an epic XP gamer, 2x2 gb of ram a GTX 750 Ti, Soundblaster X-FI soundcard. It'd be awesome!
@@ted-b "I did have great fun with a lowly GT-710 recently though." Man after my own heart. I just bought a low profile 710 from inno3d, for like 25 euros used. That card is legendary :D It was basically only card on stock after the start of covid pandemic. Although it ran ARMA3 on low well enough for me, and it is crazily overclockable. Still weak, but the overclock is noticable.
Afaik I know you can even upgrade to a 2600K. I got a 390 tower and an SFF for free from work and am in the process of upgrading them. The tower will get the i7, a 1650 and 16 GB Ram, the SFF machine had an i3 and 4 GB, so itll get the i5 and 8GB RAM from the tower. If I find a cheap low profile 1050 ti, Im gonna add that one too.
Did you install video drivers? It seems that there is some screen tearing at 18:44. The iGPU is too old and windows doesn't install the drivers automatically, you need to install them manually from the Intel website.
@@jensdbe Netherlands, i guessed from some of your videos. Only problem is i don't even know how to say sir in dutch. :) My knowledge of this language starts and ends with the phrase "Nederlands voetbalelftal", because i've watched a few football matches before. Regardless, keep up the creation of prime contents! And good day!
Very nice mate! I would love to collaborate with you maybe in a future video! That would be such an honour. I also have a small channel on RU-vid and have good computer repair and upgrade knowledge.
If you're asking for the CPU, the fastest supported CPU is the i5 2400 which is running at 3.1 Ghz and 3.40 GHz Turbo For the memory it is 1333Mhz DDR3
Honestly, no apparent reason... kind of because I can :) In this case the IO panel blocking the USB ports would've been a good reason. In general it shows how to disassemble the machine properly and gives a bit more insight on the internals. It also makes sure that everything is really clean and in good shape.
M900 is 6th generation Intel Core. The Optiplex 390 is only 2nd generation. Although newer gen doesn't necessarily mean better or faster. The difference is big and the range of CPUs used in the M900 is a lot faster.
Not sure if that will work. In the current state definitely not as there is no dedicated GPU/3D acceleration. But even with a decent card, I think this would be too much for the CPU and RAM. I tested FS 2020 on the Elitedesk G3 (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-n1ETa3mJ85I.html) It was just playable there and the specs are not comparable.
