I decided to upgrade my Dell T3610. Now I don't need so much power but it doesn't hurt to have it handy.

Did you update the BIOS firmware etc on the old/previous CPU before you upgraded? I want to use the E5-2687W v2. Hopefully faster than the stock E5-1620 v2
@mambrake
@mambrake 4 года назад
Colin L It was already updated. You need to check the list of compatible CPU for this unit

did you ever upgrade to the 2687W? did you notice an improvement

I’m afraid that I might screw the heat sink too tight, how do I know when to stop screwing
@mambrake
@mambrake 2 года назад
It does automatically. You can only go so far because it has a special stop. You will feel it….. it gets real tight. You don’t have to put to much pressure as you turn either

Do you have to take all that out?

Does anyone know if the T3610 is able to boot from an NVME SSD with PCIe adapter?
@mambrake
@mambrake 3 года назад
I honestly don’t know as I never have tried it but why are you using a PCIe adapter? Why not SATA cable or USB?
@pcandservertips8864
@pcandservertips8864 3 года назад
@@mambrake Because with PCI adapter and NVME SSD you get like 3000MB/s instead of 500 with SATA.

Can you next time show the cpu ram, I was not able to see if they were non ecc or ecc, your video instead of helping was more confusing
@mambrake
@mambrake 2 года назад
At 7:02 I give the type of RAM and I say that it’s registered. That’s plenty for you to know the type of RAM. Heck around that time in the video and you will see the memory type

Hi, I will buy: DELL T3600 Workstation Intel Xeon E5-2665, 20M Cache, 2.40 GHz, 8.00 GT/s Max Turbo Frequency 3.10GHz, 16 core Threads 16 GB RAM, RX 570 8GB. Is this good for games, this my max $$ :)
@mambrake
@mambrake 5 лет назад
Xeons are not really gamin CPU's but they are strong. I would go with something newer than a T3600. Also 16 cores is a little excessive for gamin....... Usually 16 cores are for a server that you want to run multiple VM's

Carlos Monce Records I just bought this same computer on NewEgg. I made sure It had the upgraded processor like yours. T3610 E5-1650 v2, 32gb Ram, and a Quadro K600 card, no Hdd or OS for $385. I’m sure it will be better than my Dell Vostros 220s, that’s 10+ years old. Going to run Linux Mint 19.1 in it.

@@user-ss6zt2mo1l I don't like the E5-1680 V2 because it runs at 3 Ghz and i don't really need a 8 core.

How many NVM M.2 slots are there
@mambrake
@mambrake 4 года назад
vaseem opai I’m sorry but I don’t believe this Desktop has those... you can put 2.5 SSD or HDD with a special caddy but I don’t remember it having ports for M.2. .. Try the Lenovo Tiny on my other video. That has space for a M.2 and 2.5SSD/HDD

@@mambrake thanks dear for replying, actually o got a quotation and soon ordering dell precision 3640 with i9 10900k, 32gb ram, 512gb nvme m. 2, 2tb hdd, rtx 2060 super graphics, will it be best and fast. Actually there is no video of motherboard of this and review video, so slightly hesitant in ordering, please help.
@mambrake
@mambrake 4 года назад
vaseem opai Well all I have to tell you is that this is a monster computer. Just the i9-10900k sounds like a 10th generation CPU which has to be incredible. I mean this pc would be used to render some heavy stuff. I would never need that much power. The only thing is that you might want to go with an SSD instead of a HDD. What do you plan to use this for and how much will it cost$$$$$

Got the quotation of i5 138,000 INR, i7 145,000 INR, i9 158,000 INR, theer is only 20,000 INR difference from basic to top-end, so finalized top-end, 2000 USD.
