This is exactly the same procedure for the newer 9310 2-in-1. Thank you for posting this as appears this is the only video and nobody has posted on the 9310 2-in-1 yet.

Great video, thanks! Wanted to change my SSD. Saw a tutorial on XPS 7390 and it was soooo simple. Open the computer, change the SSD! So I opened the computer... and search for the SSD without success :D On 7390 2 in 1, I thought it would be the same... Not at all!! Thanks to you, I know I just have to buy a new laptop!

Whoa thank you so much for guide! This laptop is so complicated to disassemble, thank you for your very accurate guide!! I'm having issues with the GPU fan and I should replace it. I can't really use the 1Y warranty provided by Dell because this laptop was bought in Canada and not in France where I'm living... Dell consumer services are so bad, it's impossible to talk to someone skillful by phone, at least in France.

@@ItsBinhRepaired Thank you! Didn't wanted to take the risk to open the fan to put lubricant inside, the blades are sooo fragile. I've just sent air on it until it spins correctly. @@yuzhousong3494 I decided to do it by myself. The only tricky part for me was to remove the black box on the mother board, otherwise it's quite easy! Can the fans be bought seperately? One of them started rattling (again) and last time Dell replaced the whole mainboard unit under warranty to fix a rattling fan. Now that I'm out of warranty I want to replace them myself, but I have a hard time to find the replacement parts. For my XPS15 9550 and XPS13 9370 it wasn't a problem. BR

Just to add that you should NEVER use a METAL pry tool on this machine as this will in every case damage the casing - you should use a plastic pry tool which is designed to damage itself before any damage is done to the device you are dismantling.
@ItsBinhRepaired
@ItsBinhRepaired 3 года назад
You should WATCH my thousands of videos. I usually use my fingernails to pry computers open. The casing wasn't damaged, so your "in every case" comment was wrong in every case.
@ShorrockPaul

@@ItsBinhRepaired nevertheless is not good practice to use metal pry tools on laptops. you have a lot of experience, for those who dont, use plastic tools , less chance of damage or even shorting something out. Great video though, helped me alot . these laptops are not easy to work on.

By any chance the 2 screw holes for the torx screws (T5) closes the to the hinge replaceable? The 2 screws holding the bottom plate has come loose and stripped from just opening and closing the screen. Are they part of the palm rest assemble or a separate plate.
@ItsBinhRepaired

Stripped? Not sure what you mean. Stripped and loose are two separate things. Do you mean the plastic underneath is broken?

35:00 OH GOD I'm getting Verge flashback. More thermal paste, please! You're putting it directly on the die, not the IHS the line method doesn't really apply. More is better in this situation. It can flow over since nothing is surrounding the die. Also doesn't spread is unless it's liquid paste otherwise you're making it worse. Ugh, the cringe level rn is unreal.
