Because they know how it should be, it’s Italian but Americans don’t even know how to make a cappuccino, they just make a bowl off milk with something that should be espresso which they also don’t have a clue how to make
@@eindride1268 so is there a reason your acting like that over someone not wanting someone else to get hurt are you a psychopath wanting people to get hurt?
Been using this hack for a long time now, just use a zip-tie to secure the rubber thing from shooting off into the hot milk at high pressure or you’re gonne have a terrible time 😂 but with a little practice, you can really blow some minds with how great you can texture milk and make espresso with a real basket!
Haha did the same exact thing after experimenting this morning, even down to the ziptie. Milk came out much better though so guess the initial explosion was worth it 😂
Oh my god thank you. I make aerocanos (iced americano, steamed to create foam, almost like a nitro cold brew) for my fiancé all the time, for which the metal part is perfect, but when I actually want to steam milk it’s way too foamy. Can’t wait to try this
@@Em-7Add11 getting that plastic washer thing on the new wand took FOREVER and was by far the hardest part. I'm selling this machine soon but whoever gets it will have a nice upgrade built in
My delonghi wand cover has a little additional function that either does foam or “hot milk”. It’s a sliding cover that locks in one of two positions. The hot milk button likely exposes airflow back into the steaming wand
I figured this out and had to wire the rubber piece on to keep it from flying off. Then tried to replace the whole steam wand with a rancillo replacement. But i ended up finding a replacement for the original rubber tip that was made of metal, highly recommended
@@amieatki2513 stainless steel wand nozzle for ecp3420, keep all the orings. The orange one wore out and it kep coming off so i had to use a different one for paintball markers.
It's an automatic steam wand, so you don't have to stretch the milk first, and then encorporate the foam, just stick it in fully, and air gets incorporated through it. Of course, the proper method will yield nicer microfoam, but it's for simpler usage.
THANK YOU I thought I was a dumbass for being unable to steam using the wand. Tried frothing with the wand cover off, still have a lot of room for practice.
I didn’t even need this short for this tip. As soon as I got that cheap Delonghi, it was the first thing I did. Secondly, I added a zip tie to the rubber nozzle because it kept on popping off.
The same on most budget machines. Take the outer case off and works so much better. Some cases come with a hole in the top that can help texture milk but they all work so well without it.
What about those really big plastic steam wands? The short, thick cylinder ones. I want to try steaming milk, but I don't know how to do it since all the videos on the topic use the long thin wands
If its the one with a large hole, the. What you’re supposed to do it just stick it into the pitcher and let it run. All it will do is produce lot’s of foam. You need to figure out how to isolate the nozzle. Naturally, you should be able to pop it off given that it’s supposed to be the most cleaned part of an espresso machine.
It’s called Panarello steam wound, Designed for those who have zero interest in learning how to use a professional steam wand, people like this do exist.
I just bought that exact model and this tip helped me a lot! Thanks! Also any recommendation of which porta filter to buy in order to upgrade it? Should I just buy a bottom less filter o what do I need exactly? Thanks again!
I tried replacing my steam wand since day one on a cheap machine that has that trashy wand. I figured out the weird secret to proper milk so it’ll be fun to have to relearn when I get a real steam wand
I have se cheap coffee machine from some catering company or what called adexa, was £80 and is good enough. And i did the exact same and getting perfect milk every time. Just have to learn to pour consistently 😅
I have a steaming wand on my delonghi primadonna elite but I mostly use the big carafe steamer (don't know what it's called) but it makes foam which is almost like whipped cream.
Well, that's the whole point. To make foam. Sometimes you might need it more then you can get from regular steamed milk. Also it helps when you dont want to heat up the milk to much. And before someone comment something like "the bubbles are too big", that's why you "polish" the milk. To get rid of bigger bubbles
I had a cheap machine from Walgreens in college that had a plastic cover over the steam wand. It must definitely felt superfluous and i never kept it on.
i modified my delonghi and gave it a nice metal wand. My foam is creamy and silky, so much so that I have trouble finding a place where the cappuccino can still satisfy me.
Well, the problem is if you put it off, at least with my dedicate EC685. The thing just explodes what I mean with that well wild steaming the upper part of the steamer just well, it would be wrong to say it drops of you, hear loud sound, and then it’s somewhere on the other end of the room
The cheap espresso machine I have also has one of those outer casing. It increases the volume way too much way too quick. I tried steaming without and it actually can give rotation to milk inside but it stays short as yours.
Reporting again as someone liking my comment reminded me of this comment. Yesterday I tried again with the thing on if I was not skilled enough back then as I improved just a little. I tried it and the volume was increased by foaming up in 2-3 seconds. Took it out instantly. I think those are added for wider range of customers who might not want to fiddle with adding air in and turning the milk inside to distribute the air. Also those customers might value the amount of foam more than the ability to texture the milk.
Had a Manigifica a decade ago. Hated the wand. Just got dried milk on it and milk would get scolding hot with a tiny bit of froth. Have the Eletta Explorer now. Automatic with a milk carafe. Nothing gets dirty/baked on with a carafe and 100% all froth.
Once you pop it off don't forget to put a wire-tie around the top of the rubber if not it's going to blow off, cause a mess and perhaps even burn you. It truly is an awesome hack. 👌🏻
Be careful though, some models will have the rubber part shoot off of it if you use it without the cover, made this mistake when trying this hack the first time and I got hot milk absolutely everywhere.
The rubber tip kept popping off without the metal cover while I would steam milk, I had a Delonghi espresso machine for about a month and ending up returning it because of this, I liked the machine otherwise
Hah! Never knew I'd come across a video about it, but my steam wand has been driving me nuts for as long as I've had this shitty DeLonghi! I took off the metal cover and added a zip tie like some people on Reddit suggested, and it's WAY better. Getting a new espresso machine today tho, so adios to badly streamed milk :)
