Thanks for the time in making this video. I have the same table saw, jessem router lift, and router. This is a great guide for me to make it so again thank you!
Very nice. I did this as well with my Delta 36-725 - but it was a much simpler build and now I am going to have to redo it. I'll probably do something very similar to this. I think it would have been helpful to see more details about how you attached the router table frame to the rails/body of the saw. I like your dust collection - although I would caution against using that plastic container unless the vacuum was attached and running because you will want the airflow to cool the router. But the over-and-under dust collection is great.
Thanks! Yeah I only use the router with the dust collector attached. To attach the router table to the saw I just used 1/4-20 bolts with a few washers and nylock nuts using the pre-existing mounting holes for the support bar.
Very ingenuitive !!! Lol. I love the rubber maid dust collection that snaps off! I’m sure you could make one with wood etc but this fits perfectly! You should make a set up and build plans, costs etc and post a new video !
Thanks man! I came up with the plastic container idea because I didn't have time to build a cabinet around the router and I wanted to have at least some dust collection. I'll probably build a more permanent cabinet later. Honestly the whole router wing cost
looks awesome! I'm working on getting that same table saw from a guy on fb marketplace and will probably copy your table idea! I'll probably get a knock-off router lift though, because I'm too cheap for a $200 jess-em 😂
Great add on! I recently got a 36-725 T2 and have been wanting to do this for a while. So tired of pulling out my portable router table and palm router. Going to get a proper router lift and build this. Only downside I can see, is not being able to use the table saw for a left hand cut. Of do you just use the router fence as your table saw fence? Anyway, great build and thanks for sharing!
Thanks! I honestly just never use it for a left hand cut. The handful of times I tried it it just felt weird being on that side of the blade, so I just avoid it.
I recently purchased the saw and am going to add my bosch router top to the wing. Was going to build something very similar. Can you elaborate more on how the slide part of the fence is attached exactly. Absolutely love the build btw very innovative
Thanks! If you take the aluminum extruded side off of the right side of the table saw fence there are 3 holes that hold the aluminum to the 2x2" square steel bar that makes up the fence core. I just used those 3 holes and the same mounting bolts to attach the router fence. I cut recesses in the fence with my CNC and a little chisel work to make the bolts flush with the plywood surface.
Super job David! Too bad you weren’t able to get the construction & installation on video. One concern / question, regarding the dust collection, is it in fact for dust collection? If it is, is there any concern about dust getting into your motor vents? On the other side if it’s just protect the router from getting full of dust, is it able to get a minimal amount of air in there to keep things cool? As far as that fence goes, absolutely brilliant. I would dearly love to see how you built that. See you in the next installment.
Not really sure what you mean. The router itself has an internal fan to keep the motor cool that draws air from the top and blows it out near the bit, which also prevents dust from getting inside the motor. It adds a bit of turbulence inside the dust collection box, but the dust collector can overcome that I think.
That's pretty slick man ! I really like your DIY over the table dust collection. How's that working ? Also, you pretty happy with that Jessem lift ? I've been thinking of getting the same one.
The router table dust collection works really well. I get surprisingly good airflow though the fence. I like the jessem lift but it is a bit annoying that it takes three tools to use it. Next time I might get one with the plates that just pop off by pressing a button.
When you mounted the router table to the table saw, did you add/drill more holes or use only existing holes from fence rails? Nice build with some clever ideas. I might have to steal the Rubbermaid idea.
Might want to look into the depth of the holes for that tool that can be knocked off and check to see if the two metal bits on the tool are ferrus material. If they are steel and magnets will stick to them, find some neodymium magnets with the same diameter as the holes you drilled, then just use some epoxy to get them to stick into the holes you drilled and the tool can be hung into the holes more securely via magnetics.
Are you still running this system? And how has it worked out for you. My fence for my delta has bowed inwards in the center so I’m trying to figure out something for that. But i need a router horribly bad. Anyway let me know if you’re running this still. Or if you chose to go another route. Thank you in advance
@@GarageTimeWithDavid thank you for putting this out. You still running the plastic tub underneath? I only do my own home projects furniture, cabinets, friends stuff, and Christmas gifts for wood working. So like you but prob less like mid ground type wood working. So having people share things like this is great. Appreciate you 🫵🏼👍🏼
