I knew she was a judge on the singing competition, but I had not actually heard her sing. She is fantastic. She reminds me of Carrie Underwood, who is a country singer, who I believe also won a competition similar to the one she judges on but here in America. Very compatible voices.
I relate so much to Delta, I have also had a couple of battles with Cancer. I also lost my voice for a time after surgery. She is not only beautiful, sings like an Angel, but she is an inspiration!
She wrote this song referring to her early career when at 19 she was diagnosed with cancer. Also refers to her very public relationship break up. I can't watch this without getting goosebumps. Deltas vocals are amazing she is a beautiful person inside out. She had her own experience with cancer when she was diagnosed with hodgkin lymphoma aged 18 and then recently had to learn to talk and sing again when a nerve in her tongue was paralysed due to surgery. Should listen to her singing live she’s phenomenal.
Yes. We’re definitely gonna do this. We were completely unaware of her story. What an amazing story, but tragic thing to live through. Especially as a singer. She’s inspiring. I want to hear her live.
Delta is a cancer survivor. She was diagnosed at 19 yrs just as her singing career was taking off. She got over that and then a couple of years ago she had a throat operation which damaged nerves in her tongue. She had to learn to speak and sing all over again !! She is a fighter alright 😊
A delta is a complete and wonderful artist. Her songs are pure magic and love. She's that rare artist to find in the 21st century. I'm from Brazil and have been following her for more than 10 years.
I agree that she’s seriously underrated. We never heard of her until she was suggested to us for a reaction last year. She’s very talented and there’s no doubt she’d have a huge following here in the states if people heard her sing and learned of her back story.
Delta is the full package. Stunningly gorgeous, and as you can see sings beautifully. She also acts, and was in an Aussie Soap called Neighbours when younger, and last year was in a movie on Netflix called Love is in the Air (also the name of a song, by John Paul Young). She now has her own label (her name spelt backwards), Atled. For Aussie artists please try live songs. For a huge country with most of the population on the coast, we have a history of bands having to perform well in live shows in pubs and clubs, to make it big. Believe me when I say Delta, can 🎉🎉🎉. Delta had cancer, someone said breast cancer, which it wasn't, I think it was non Hodgkin's lymphoma, someone can correct me if thats wrong, it wasn't breast cancer. She had an amazing nack catalogue
Delta has been in the Aussie / British charts for the last 22 years , Sony signed her at 15 and she has had 4 no 1 Aussie albums so she has actually influenced many artists.
G'day guys have look at 'Delta sings with Gurrumal' Gurrumal's a blind aboriginal the song is sung in english then aboriginal language. Gurrumal sadly died a few years ago.
@@secondhandreactions just bit of clarification. Gurrumal.was born blind and was self taught on the guitar. He would borrow any guitar he could, so he played a right handed strung guitar upside down. He sings first in his native language. Then Delta sings the English version then they both sing in the native language. Delta learnt his language for the song. Which she was highly respected for doing. Sadly Gurramul died in 2017. Another one to look at if you haven't already is . The Seekers ( started in the 1960s) 'I am Australian' Delta also did a covers of their song.Judith Durham the female singer of the Seekers also sadly died.
Our gorgeous Delta who has been through so much in her life, yes breast cancer survivor, and just recently after a minor op her tongue was paralyzed and she had to learn to talk again, then sing again, brave woman with a heart of gold.
I had a feeling that this song was important, and I just made the suggestion that it would be powerful for breast cancer awareness, I wasn’t aware that she had been ill. She’s truly beautiful.
Delta started playing piano and singing at a very young age and has fantastic clarity and range. She had lymphoma not breast cancer and was a good friend of Olivia NJ naturally. Enjoy the rabbit hole of Aussie chicks as well as the guys !!!❤
