This is the game Bureau 13 from Tri Tac games redone. There are a great many games that Tri Tac created that 7 TV shows took their inspiration from and lord knows how many TTRPGs and board games took their inspiration from. This game even has the super secret government department and the "something nearly wiped us out" event. Tri Tac Games were never, ever, dark so it is nice that everyone who has used tbeir ideas have made them dark. I always felt that Richard's failing was the sillyness that he built into his games, but that could also be the times that he worked in. Nice review, thanks.

Are there any plans to cover/review any of DG's released sourcebooks, setting guides, and operations? I've a feeling given how immaculately edited your content is, the results can only be spectacular!

SicSemperTyrannis Doing reviews on operations books is tricky, since spoilers are a major consideration. I haven’t looked into the other sourcebooks for reviews but I’ll check them out!

Some of the best CoC I have played has been within the DG setting. Realm of Shadows, also by the same writers, is a masterpiece of rpg writing, layout, art and presentation.

My group just started call of Cthulhu. So far it’s super easy to understand and is tons of fun! Very role play heavy. Oh and bring a backup character!

May I ask if there's a supplementary book that functions as a 5e style prewritten adventure? I want to try this with my group but I don't want to get too crazy until I know they enjoy it, I purchased "Night at the Opera" but skimming the pdf it seems as though it's more a prompt or resource book.

Indeed I kind of want to adapt the story of Prototype to a degree ( the virus, the experiments and outbreak in Hope Idaho and such but not the biomass wielding power fantasy)

Btw- If you're using thus for SCP I recommend playing as UIU agents at the start at least, gives more of the lack of resources and u derstanding vibe

What's up with this whole 'Day Job' thing... do agents not get paid for their work?! This is something I would expect in a scenario based on the 'Supernatural' TV show but not with government agents.

Old comment I know, but in case anyone in the future has this question: DG is an organization so secret it only exists as a conspiracy. Depending on the time period you play, it may have even been disbanded. Agents have a day job as a way to gather intel and resources and keep suspicion around them low.
