These are a great upgrade but once the person in front of you puts the seat back to nap the whole flight, it’s definitely as tight getting in and out as economy. I recommend sitting in the very front of Premium Select to prevent this.
@@jaydawg2023 Agreed--I've never been a fan of bulkhead seats. And although it probably isn't a problem, I don't like the last row either because I'm always fearful that I'll sacrifice some of my own reclining abilities due to the bulkhead behind. I prefer the middle row, even though the seat in front of me can recline into my space.
@@NathanG24 It was fine, oddly the middle seats suited me better because the arm rests are wide enough. The isle seats in the front poke into the isle quite a bit so people did knock me on their way back from the bathroom in front of the cabin. Front has way more space and doesn’t feel so cramped.
I flew Premium Economy with Delta for the first time in May '23 from AMS to JFK. I thought the seat was very comfortable, cushion was better than economy and the recline was pretty generous. Even the footrest was comfortable (I'm 6'4") if you manually push it down. So the seat and legroom was definitely worth the money. The service however was not as good. We weren't served pre-departure drinks and were only handed a bottle of water after sitting thirsty for over 1 full hour (tarmac traffic jam, then finally got water after takeoff). Economy was served earlier than Premium Economy. Power outlets didn't work. Delta now promises an even better experience but after seeing this video, I don't think anything actually changed. Still, I will fly Premium Select again on my next Delta flight! To me, it's worth it.
@@georgemburu4177 He did not complain about another person being served before himself. He complained of the entire economy section being served before the people that pay extra should get. If one pays for economy, he should expect economy service. If one pays for premium, he should expect better service. Otherwise, why pay the extra fee?
The food is definitely the weak point. On my first flight from LA to Sydney (15 hours) there were only two meals, both smothered in tomatoes and peppers, neither of which I can eat (ulcers). I have learned to grab a couple of sandwiches before boarding and put them in my bag,
I'll be flying Delta's Premium Select from Berlin to JFK next summer. I'm looking forward to it. I was able to get one of those rare bookings that based on timing of the booking along with partner discounts my PS seat is the same cost as a main cabin ticket. At that price, it's a no-brainer that I'll be flying PS even if only getting a softer seat with more leg room. But for sure I wouldn't be paying hundreds or thousands of extra dollars to make the upgrade.
Great review. We had the same seats booked from SLC - LHR - SLC, but switched to DeltaOne. I have flown in Premium Economy on a red-eye from SFO to ATL - it was worth it as an upgrade from Comfort+. The meals should and could be better - I agree with other commenters here. For the additional cost - the seat is acceptable, but the meals are unacceptable.
@@Behemoth66 we had the Premium Economy seats booked but noticed that the Delta One prices were going down. On the Delta Website i used the Change my Flight feature and just moved us to Delta One. When we did it - it was actually fewer points for Delta One so it was a now brainer. I think everyone assumed that the Delta One would be too expensive and wanted to try Premium Economy. I have flown in Delta Premium Economy on an overnight flight (SFO to ATL) and it is a lot better than comfort plus.
being 6'4, im not a fan of the narrow seats with unadjustable armrests. i have to put the controller in the nook so my legs dont press against. flew this from ATL-HND. i was miserable. i wish they made it 2-2-2, a little pricier, and the same seats from a domestic 1st class flight. i was more comfortable flying ATL-FCO last week in COMF since the armrests adjusted. but, that is just me in a not so small body. if delta 1 wasnt 20k rt id have splurged.
Delta needs to step their game up, Virgin Atlantic offers a much better experience in their premium economy offering. For example the moment you sit down you're offered orange juice, champagne or water served in fitting glasses and food is served on real plates vs Delta's cartons
Delta used to have super good catering in Premium Select with all dish served in fine china and cutlery. Unfortunately Pandemic forced Delta to cut cost so meal presentation is now similar to Main Cabin. (Albeit upgraded food and white cloths and metal cutlery)
UA may indeed have better food, but it's the rest of the UA experience that turns me off. I'll take Delta's service over UA or AA any day of the week, even if I have to bring my own food.
DL Premium economy can compete with European and maybe Asian carriers as far as hard product. But the soft product, the meals especially, are simply economy class meals with a very slightly upgraded presentation. This has been a consistent failing for this DL product for some years. I doubt it will improve. The moderately better seat may be worth a few hundred $/£ extra but certainly not more than that.
Had 2 flights from MIA to MNL and back in Delta's premium in 2019 and 2022. First time was great, food, plating and such. Second time, not so much. Food was pretty awful to and from MNL. I think the worst part of the seating as mentioned is trying to get up if the forward seat is reclined. If I do use that service again I'll make sure to book bulkhead. After all I'm not a six footer. On another occasion, I flew Korean air in coach. I had a better experience. Leg room was ample enough to cross leg. Although with less seat pitch. The food was far superior. Thats my 2 cents.
Delta really stepped up their game in recent years. The service especially is such a massive improvement. Staff is now constantly coming around offering drinks and snacks throughout the flight (even in economy), and is now extremely attentive. The first delta flight I took was absolutely unprofessional and disgusting, with an outdated plane and air hostesses who were busy gossiping during every meal and drinks service. I’m very glad to see Delta has made a real effort to turn things around.
We flew Delta PS last month from Stockholm to NY and found it worth the money. Real cutlery , ceramic plates, real glasses, comfortable seats. We had bulkhead seats which were very pleasant. The seats came with remote controls for the bulkhead sited screen. Better use of money than Comfort+.
DELTA is one of the BEST AIRLINES in the WORLD! They definitely need to upgrade the 737 lines. HOPEFULLY Boeing will scrap the 737 lines and come up with something New and Better!
Haven't tried the PS from Delta - had seats booked on the return leg from AMS but took an upgrade that Delta had - they gave me a $70 flight credit to book Delta One. Booked the PS after sitting in Comfort Plus on the return leg from FCO - cramped into a very small seat. I'd go for it if the Delta One was too expensive as the Comfort Plus is a joke.
Looks like delta just renamed a section to make everyone think they are getting more. I fly delta in the US but when I'm heading over to London I book with delta but check to see that I'm on a virgin flight. The food and service is so much better
Hi. I just saw your video on Delta Premium Select cabin flight on board the a330-900neo aircraft. As I am flying this cabin in January from LA to CDG wanted to know you opinion of the PS cabin on a330-900neo vs the other Delta aircraft. Did you get. Pre-departure beverage? I am flying Delta One suites on the same aircraft on my way back to US from Amsterdam. Have you flown Delta One suites on the a330-900neo? These have the close door on the suites. Looming forward to your reply and comments. Thanks...Raj
I used to overpack my luggage ,so back then more luggage allowances would had been my priority ! But,nowadays ,I am more pro about packing & all my destinations tend to be U.K.,European countries more & that means lots of stoney roads & hills !! Lol. So,I have to travel with carry - on only ! Lol. But,recline level is more important to me !! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞
Let me know what you think of the review. Comment, like and share. And don’t forget to subscribe for future reviews! Do you think Delta’s Premium Select is worth the upgrade?
Is there enough room in Premium Select for overhead luggage? I will only have one carryon plus my "personal item." My main priority is not to check any luggage ever. Thank you.
Great vid. Im flying LHR to JFK in december and decided to go with virgin after watching quite a few review videos. How do you think Delta stacks up against virgin and BA?
Thanks 🙏 I flew back to London with Virgin. The review is here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z3rt8S5TX3M.html I’d say Virgin was better from a food/drink point of view. But I was on a newer aircraft with Delta, which was better. With Virgin the A330-900 or A350-1000 have larger entertainment screens and less clutter around the seat. Either way, they are both better than Economy.
Great review. We're doing a long haul next year from LAX to Sydney (Premium Select), looking forward to it. Question - what was the round black "shield" in front of your GoPro? I want to film the same way, just curious...
Hi. Thanks for the comment. There are three bits of kit I use: - Forevercam Aluminum Cover Case... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08JFX84S3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share - Sametop Suction Cup Mount... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01EF3Q8SU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share - IPOTCH Camera Lens Cover Hood... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08HHC4HP3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Hello, thanks for the review. I'll upgrade for sure my next trip!@@DoorsToAuto Quick question .. what is the round black shiled ? Can't locate it throught the link you shared ... (Circular black stuff at 5:28) Thanks!
BA has finally upgraded (even pre covid) which use to be not great food service. Been impressed with my last few business and F flights on them the last year. Sounds like they have done the same in PE.
My husband is flying for 16 hours straight from ATL to Johannesburg and the question we need answered is how high do the leg extensions go. It says ajdustable but about what angle do they go up to? 45 degrees, less than that?, up to 90 degrees? He has just had a knee replacement and that's the most important thing to know for us. Thanks in advance.
Great, honest review. The meal leaves a little be desired - but that said, I do think airlines are “conditioning” us to expect less and by moving away from plain and simple good food they will subsequently justify removing food altogether. Once again, grateful thanks 🙏
What did you pay to upgrade close to the flight? I have tickets (comfort+) to Japan (from SEA) in early Feb2024. ATM the upgrade cost is 375$ to move up to Premium Select....but a few weeks ago it was 500$. The flight looks to not be very full so I wonder if the price to upgrade might even go lower closer to the flight??
