You sir win the award for most useful and relevant shower valve video. My kind of video, “Look, in 3 minutes I’ll show you how to knock this out, or you can watch a 30 min video and second guess all the variables.” Nicely done
I plumbed my house with cpvc over 30 years ago and have never had a problem. With that said, I'm replacing a shower valve that my son installed 30 years ago so it's good to see it done. I don't trust my math so I cut a 1/2" piece of osb to temporarily act as my tile backer. RU-vid is a blessing and thanks for the tips.
I don't think it was a well explained video. I still have yet to see a video that someone actually explains the valve back set. I think the 2 inch rule is the best thing I have seen. Thanks for the video.
I have to put 2 of these faucets in next week. What exactly is the purpose of the plastic. Do you really need to leave the plastic on inside the wall? Great video, just confused on the purpose of the plastic. thanks.
The reason that water is coming out of the spout and the shower head at the same time is that the pipe used for the tub spout is too small. 1/2 inch pex or cpvc should not be used for the spout because they are smaller on the inside causing water to back up to the shower head.
@@buckeyepowerwash I ended up having to put a hole in the wall to access it. Dummy me was trying to replace the valve through the shower handle hole haha thank you though! Your video was very helpful! I just couldn't get to what I needed haha
That kind of pipe is garbage if any of you find it behind your walls , try to replace as much as possible, make the effort is worth it believe me, I t does make the job bigger but think about it you spend few grand on re doing you washroom , and buried behind your new walls a pipe that more likely will fail.
