Delta to limit access to Sky Club in 2023

Starting next year, the airline says Sky Club memberships will only be available to passengers who achieve frequent-flier classification. Membership costs are also increasing, from $545 to $695 per person or $845 to $1,495 for executive memberships.

I mean, even if you're flying in Domestic First, you still don't get lounge access, so not surprising.

Yeah. Delta. This is not a good look. You shouldn't limit someone's access if they paid for it.

Sadly it's becoming more common with other CONUS carriers. I fly American often and always go First or Business; even have the Citi AA credit card. That being said, the only way I can access the Admiral's Club is either by upgrading my card to Citi Executive with a $650 per annum charge or one-time pass at $60.00 . I'm just going to stick with hanging out at the Starbucks with the rest of the uncultured swine!

This is one area I believe Delta is making a mistake. I understand they want to keep the exclusivity of the lounges but limiting the membership through draconian measures like these may very well backfire on them. American Airlines has the right idea by offering membership and/or access through the right credit card or simply buying it separate. Either way they will make money and the customer who wants it and is willing to pay, gets it. Having the Citi executive card allows me into the Admiral’s Club regardless of what class ticket I buy. That’s a great perk for me. Even though I have the AmEx platinum card through Delta, I still can’t get into the Sky Club. That’s kind of F’d up!

I’m sitting in a delta club as I type this. Please Delta double the price to get in and don’t allow delta Amex ppl in. As a weekly flyer I shouldn’t have to wait at the door while some vacationing family takes up to much room.
