the giant toilet shaped toilet is also meant to reference earthbound's iron pencil. they block your way in earthbound, and interacting with them says "for some weird reason, a pencil-shaped iron statue is blocking your path", which is very similar text to interacting with the toilet.

The gold mystery object melting in Queens acid river of love is actually the Queen portion of Berdly's statue. I find it so unbelievably funny that she refused to keep that part with the rest of the statue and tries to dispose of it in acid.

in the Cyber City, there are Swatchlings sweeping in the street saying they're preparing for "something big", i think they're referencing the eventual Giga Queen fight that takes place through the city

I absolutely can't wait for the twist where the real Kris discards their heart and it finds refuge in the discarded vessel from chapter 1.

A small correction for the Tasque Manager Fight, each of your characters actually have a unique "Order" dog sprite. Unfortunately due to what I can only assume is a bug, they don't appear properly and can only be seen in the "afterimage" as shown in the video. I think someone got them to trigger properly by doing them one character at a time? You definitely should show off the ones for Kris and Ralsei as well.

The part about "demoscenes" at 5:10 could Also be a double entendre. Because what he shows are fireworks and fireworks are explosives and explosives are normally used in demolition this could also be referring to demo in that way. I dunno if it's been discussed yet, but there's an "unused" item called the Pure Crystal that is related to the Shadow Crystals. It can be partially seen in game, as part of a fusing recipe w/ Malius for something called the Twisted Sword, implying it'll be used in the final game & is just a teaser for now. The description reads "The shadow purified by the cat", implying that the Pure Crystal is the end result of collecting the Shadow Crystals.

Some people came up with the theory that the light bars that you can see at 31:29 are going to indicate which soul colours we will use when fighting future secret bosses because in Jevil‘s fight the soul was red and in Spamton‘s fight the soul was also yellow.

"In reality, it may be impossible to win" has two meanings to me, the first, is that the next shadow crystal may be in the light world, or, in other words, reality, and it will be nearly impossible to get since you have no leadership over the light world. Second, he may just be saying that it will still be in a dark world, just, that it'll be insanely hard to get the crystal.

I don't know if you've covered it but the maus you see in the city are a reference to the maus super heavy tank. This is due to one of the idle comments the maus makes " Maus is thinking large and complex vehicles"

Noelle's room is the same as the others based on her search queery. • a Susie-like statue • Puzzle (since Kris and Noelle are into puzzle solving) • Calendar with holiday (from search queery "December Holiday" she was searching for Dess online) • and some clothes she wants to wear but to shy to BTW that Susie liking cardboard box thing back in Chapter 1 Susie once say she dress as a cardboard box for Halloween.

Susie must love boxes, in chapter 1 if you stand on the button in the puzzle room in the Field, she says she dressed as a box for Halloween. Also the Queen Paintings when they go with the rhythm, it reminds me of New Super Mario Bros. when the enemies dance with the beat.

I love the idea that, if lancer loves digging holes and maybe slept in one, it would make the Jack of Spades your hole card :)

An interesting observation with the teas you get in the city, is that you can figure out how much the characters like each other (since it's just water with a name stuck on it). For example Kris will get fully healed with Susie Tea, but only get 60 with Ralsei and around 70 with Noelle. Also Susie gets fully healed with everyone which is cute

20:46 I just realized that spamton neo says at the beginning that he wants to stand so tall that he can see past the dark and into heaven. This kinda means that if what you are saying is true than he wants to see the light or the light world cause heaven is symbolized with bright light. It would also explain why he's crazy because he's also aware that he's is not a real person but more like a spam bot or a person trying to give you a virus (just thought of this as I'm writing this, a spam bot or a account that spams virus is controlled or programed by a person like a puppet so maybe that's why he wants to see past the dark and into the light so that way he can become a real boy and not some account or bot controlled by someone else. Plus everything in the dark world has a real life counterpart.

even tho Lancer calls Kris that "blue person whose name he totally knows" when helping them and susie escape, he literally calls Kris by their name moments earlier

9:30 The phone doesn't trigger Susie's dialogue here. What she hears is Lancer and she'll say it after a while if the player doesn't deploy Lancer and it's a way to get the player to know to use Lancer to escape. She will say this regardless of if you use the phone or not.

wait wait, if using the crystals while in the home town references Susie, isn't there somewhere that if you go into then Susie waits outside? I wonder if it would say something different. Unless i'm just mixing up when that happens.

The way I've thought about all the sink dialogue was that Rudy was making a joke that happened to be foreshadowing and all the other stuff was kris/ another being making us go to the sink and planning to do it all along.

I wonder what Susie looking at kris coldly when kris looks through the shadow crystal could be foreshadowing. If all you can see of the crystal is its shadow, what does that mean in this case? It could mean the shadow of how she thought of kris maybe, the way she acted in the start of chapter 1 could be weighing on her. Could also be something in the future, or maybe, the alternate path, snowgrave. Its probably been checked of the shadow crystal has different text in snowgrave, so its probably something in the future.

I just realized something! The Addisons that appear after defeating spamton are telling you his backstory while facing the wall, so they're back is turned to you. Making it a "back" "story". Get it. Just something small that I caught. Could be absolutely nothing though lol

The 'song' that plays when we meet the queen for the first time in Chapter 2, her long laugh, sounds really really really similar and is a reference to the sound that plays after you complete a level in the original Angry Birds, specifically the longer variation of the sound (there are 2 of them).

Imagine Shean just crafting us a dark bulb from all of the shadow crystals at the end of the game, kinda like Toby did with chapter 1's ending

When a dark world is made, the history of the objects is translated into something more personified. I think when two Darkners know each other, that just means the objects they're made from have been in the same room before or otherwise connected before the dark world was made.

I think the Ch2 Overworld ShadowCrystal dialouge foreshadows what future Pacifist Routes and No-Mercy Routes would end up to, Susie having a "cold stare" has the same energy as Noelle being clueless on the Snowgrave route...

I didn’t know about getting the shadow crystals from the cliff. I’m very glad that’s a thing, since i had beat Jevil on my Switch but not on my PC (i played Deltarune on Switch before Chapter 2 was released). It still means i have to beat a secret boss but it wont be as bad, since Chapter 1 is shorter than Chapter 2.

Okay, so inside the dark world, the shadow crystals allow you to see through the darkness and into the light world again (card kingdom-->closet, cyber world->computer lab), but in the light world, it allows Kris to see through their own hand, not into the dark world. So now I'm trying to think of what that could mean, because we can't see through Susie, only her expression changes, but idk if that means too much. So the glass doesn't see through the light world, it sees through Kris specifically.

I said it last time, but “Happy New Year 1997” might be a reference to Happy99, which was a virus.

I doubt Jevil and Spamton going mad was after looking through the crystal and seeing the "reality" of their world. This is bcuz an obvious thing, whole plan of Spamton was to get and use the power of the machine (the crystal), he couldn't have had it before. But also in and after Queen's battle she shows she's aware she exists inside the computer lab and that the internet of the town is down, and she seems fine (sane at least).

If you talk to a specific plug resident, he will say that a big lobbyist-type shot down a carasoul transit idea out of a fear of clowns. Some have speculated that this is Spamton being a rival to Jevil, and given their similarities, would seem very possible.

I know a lot of people think when Spamton says "clown around town" they believe he is referencing Jevil, but I think this can still apply to Swatch, because Spamton is envious of his success and doesn't believe Swatch deserves it more than him, calling him a clown (even though he is trying to mimic his looks).

Your humble obscure Deltarune fact hunter, returning to once again aid in this fact-hunting nonsense! 4:07 - I'm pretty sure that Kris knowing how to play piano is just meant to be a character quirk, and not really anything deeper (and/or a reference to Toby Fox himself). And I'm VERY certain that Kris is mad at Susie making fun of their piano becaus under normal circumstances, they'd be able to play it well. But as they explained back in Chapter 1: "It's missing most of the good keys." I mean, just imagine you were really good at an instrument, then you tried playing a broken version of it, and someone laughs at your performance. I'm no betting boy, but I'm pretty sure you'd be at least a little ticked off too. 9:13 - The whole bit with Susie's dialogue about Kris's phone and Lancer making noise happens simply if you don't do anything and wait. But I guess calling on your phone sorta speeds that up. 14:15 - Susie's admiration of boxes was also seen a bit back in Chapter 1, most obviously with her dressing as a cardboard box for Halloween once. But something to note is that we TECHNICALLY don't know for SURE that Susie's home life isn't that great, but it is seemingly hinted at a bunch throughout Deltarune so far, so. 16:33 - Another thing about Tasque Manager (that you may have covered before, I can't remember) is that if you answer her quiz before the fight completely correctly, then she will start the fight at 100% Mercy and you can SPARE her instantly. Just a fun little thing. 23:32 - The bit about Seam noticing the Shadow Crystal and us apparently not noticing it was actually a bit more interesting when Chapter 2 first released, since if you had started Chapter 2 with a completed Chapter 1 Save File where you had beaten Jevil, you actually would not have seen a Shadow Crystal in your inventory. Because the first Shadow Crystal that you get from defeating Jevil was actually added in an update. And, similarly, the dialogue that plays when you look through the Spamton Glass also got changed in a patch. It used to be the same as the Jevil Glass dialogue. Maybe not that important, but I found it noteworthy to at least mention. Though I do think it's a bit strange that Toby keeps updating the Shadow Crystals. A part of me kinda feels like there's something more to read into there, but who knows. 22:49 - I'm putting this at the end because it's a LOT more theory than fact. I was discussing the dialogue whenever you use the Glass item(s) in the Light World with a buddy. And he brought up the idea that the second dialogue about Susie staring at Kris coldly COULD be reflecting the fact that Spamton got abandoned by people he viewed as friends. Between that, and the... ...a-hem...VERY VERY INTERESTING dialogue with the first Glass, about Kris thinking they see a hole through their hand, my pal then brought up the idea that maybe the Glass items "reflect" the way that the Jevil and Spamton "broke", so to speak. But in a similar breath, they could also "reflect" something else. They could be foreshadowing how Kris's story itself may eventually "reflect" the stories of the Mad Darkners. Maybe Kris betrays Susie, or something happens to Susie herself that causes her to fight us or something. Maybe Kris becomes involved with Gaster. Which, I personally have a theory that maybe Kris is already getting help from Gaster, due to how Kris seems to be setting up specific events to play out (for example the end of Ch.2). Playing chess master, so-to-speak. It just seems odd to me that Kris knew to plug in the TV in-between Chapters 1 and 2, and also slash the tires of Toriel's car, so that he could get Susie to stay over and maybe send her, Toriel, and himself to a TV Dark World by opening a Dark Fountain. I mean, Kris was just a normal kid before we started controlling them. It's just weird to me that they can play chess master like this. And actually, a small addendum/edit since I just thought of this: There are two instances in Chapter 2 that seem to imply Kris does indeed know about Gaster. In the talk after the Spamton NEO fight, and the scene where Susie scares off Snowy and Monster Kid at the south bunker door thing, Susie asks Kris about something that we as the audience know is related to Gaster. And in both interactions, its implied that Kris also understands the Gastery significance of things like Puppets, Strings, Hands, and the bunker door (with the whole 666% slowed down Gaster theme thing).

I could be mistaken, but I think the giant toilet being described as a "giant toilet-shaped toilet" might also be a reference to a viral tweet from 2020 from the account @SheriffAlert that said, "Large boulder the size of a small boulder is completely blocking east-bound lane Highway 145 mm78 at Silverpick Rd. Please use caution and watch for emergency vehicles in the area," With many people making jokes about the contradictory phrasing of the tweet since it calls it both a large boulder and a small one, so I think the redundant phrasing of the "toilet-shaped toilet," could be a reference to that

I find how the text is rendered interesting. The colored text has a small gradient similar to Petscop, a game of very similar world ideas. There's an overworked that is very small and an underworld not seen by many that is humongous in comparison. Perhaps the Dark Worlds are a play on the idea that there could be different planes in Petscop.

The Shadow Crystals remind me of the horrocruxes from Harry Potter, those being parts of the soul of Voldemort. There were 7 horrocruxes, so far we know there are 7 chapters, and we assume it's one Shadow Crystal per chapter. Maybe those are fragments of Gaster's soul and a reference to the Horrocruxes. Explains why only characters that have made contact with him have one. Another theory. The strong enemies from each chapter are the friends that Asriel made when they visited the Dark World. Dess may have visited that world too. Asriel and Dess might be missing inside the Dark World. Or Ralsei is really Asriel, recruiting new lightners to rescue Dess.

ooh I love the Paranatural comic, I think the humour in that is very similiar to Toby's! The reference is honestly pretty impossible to notice though but a nice one :D

I don't think I agree with your interpretation of the "piano tutorial" in Kris' room in Queen's castle. While the search of "video game piano tutorial" might be a reference to the piano puzzle in Undertale, it seems more likely to me that Kris' intention with that search was to look for a video tutorial on how to play a song from a game that they like. We already know that they are normally able to play the piano well, so, knowing that they previously made that search online, either they learned to play piano entirely from those tutorials, or they already knew how to play and just wanted to learn to play a song that they liked a lot from a game. This doesn't read to me as someone trying to better fit in as Kris or anything. To me, it's reinforcing the idea that, for some amount of time before we started playing Deltarune, Kris was in control of themself, but, now that a Player has appeared again, they've lost that control.

...yeah, the iris-out sound effect is definitely inspired by SMW, but SMW was not the first to do a sound effect for iris-out. The best example is select Looney Tunes cartoons directed by Bob Clampett, who made their own iris-out sound effect with Clampett's voice. (Boo-woop!) Of course, it doesn't really matter. So... what happens if you do that Ferris wheel thing with Jevilstail equipped on Susie? Would it just be the same as usual? I mean, Susie commented "I always wanted a tail" or something to that effect when you equip Jevilstail to Susie...

Something i haven't really seen people mention is when spamton neo says "'heaven are you watching?" Its almost identical to s memetic phrase "Chang'e are you watching?" that the character Junko from touhou project says, a series toby is a big fan of and inspired by in a lot of ways.

this is a big stretch, but undyne bench pressing a car may be a reference to death road to Canada, there is a random event in which the road you are travelling on is blocked by a pile up of cars. one of the available options is to bench press a car, which does nothing to solve the situation and forces you to continue on foot

I don’t know if it means anything, but there are two items that fit the bill of an old cloth that doesn’t seem important that I can think of. One is the ragger you can find in chapter 1 and the other is an item you can buy from spamton before his fight. They could have something to do with the shadow mantle, I haven’t tested anything.
