@@cyanideytandcuriousseadogg4160 Basically, yes, he told Susie and Noelle that if we did something stupid like the Red Buster, Susie would aim it to all the team in a chance of killing us
@@maxti714 considering the route This is Justified to make Kris Actively Try and Have the Party members get the soul whacked but why not Have Noelle Heal the enemies if Dual Heal is used?
while it's cool i think it's WAY too early for that. it's very clearly a big part of OG deltarune and to have it cleared up through a single off screen conversation is weird, especially how the gang still continues killing stuff
Okay, managing to personally piss off a party member so much that they hardly follow your commands anymore, and even can straight up ATTACK you or HEAL the enemy is really cool. I don't think I've seen that before, except for allies having a "Confusion" status effect. But this is by their own doing. I really like this honestly 😅
@@suwa77 I can’t remember for certain but was it the part in Mother3 where you’re Salsa and the big guy who’s enslaved you is just not helping at all? I think Morher 1 also has a party member with autonomy with the robot. The robot isn’t trying to hurt you tho. tho the latter idea isn’t uncommon since persona does it too.
You know, for being the genocide route, i find funny how Susie can just spare herself lmao Edit: Guys, I know why she can spare herself, I'm not an idiot.
It shows how detached Susie is from the Player, she has complete free will unlike basically everyone else, dunno how it works as it's not explained in Deltarune but she can just....do stuff
What is wrong with it? i mean just susie could attack or heal the enemy if using object but by looking susie logo you could know if she is going to or not, and if she is going to she could either use an action (except rude buster or ultimate healing, you know like any other) or defense
I did the devious stuff and its honestly not that bad. it has indications like when noelle and susie will refuse to fight in the paula and ness fight (the changed sprite) and the only real annoying part is healing with it bc she'll just heal someone random.
@@glakethesnake8107 once you get it her portrait will ALWAYS look like that its random if she does it or not once you click the move. Edit I realize I was wrong
God, I love Susie. If she's tired of your shit, she will end up not following your commands, as much as you want her to. We know how she's somewhat uncontrollable in Deltarune Chapter 1 until the lategame where they fight the King, so if worst comes to worse (or better for her), well... We'll pretty much end up with Chapter 1 Susie from that.
It's funny because I still did it and still had no problem. People here seemenly don't know that you can just... Look at the icons. Just like the the Paula fight, you can see when a party member will not do what you say. When Susie has a different icon it is when she will do different things. So if she has that icon, just defend. I don't know if you can still use an item but if you just defend nothing bad will happen, you will just lose some damage. Problems in my opinion may only arise if Noelle also gets the status in the future, however in the Paula fight you could still use dual heal, so there shouldn't be a TON of problems. Will be fun to see in future sections if the fights will be basically you against the enemy, but also having to deal with the party doing other actions in other turns and Kris changing the placement of act's and putting fake ones to make you have to look closely to see if it is a real ot fake ACT command.
@@spiritbaki108 Really? I played very early the section 2 when It came out and you could see during the Paula fight when Noelle or Susie would not attack.
@@voidfloof Yeah you get a ton of clues, that's why I am surprised to see people say that they would had been able to do the route withaut those like if the state was a Big deal, when it is really just a minor inconvinience. In fact, I would like that they were obligatory, as they add a lot to the personality of Susie and overall to the route.
@@elianrobloxandifigetequipm392 So what I mean is he just went into enemy mode and how was he spared in that situation?? Is this in 2 places at the same time, how mechanical is this?
I chose the "shut up" and "I want you dead" options because they were the most aggressive (I wanted to play my part in being a "demon"), and look where that got me lmao.
Ok I was about to comment that. Also it was incredibly evil design for that to happen in general, I literally tried it twice because I was wondering if it was a chance thing, then I died and then just took the fight seriously
So, uhh... do you know if it's needed for this route? Since I didn't get any sounds when I said ''you hit me???'' but Susie didn't get devious either, and I really don't want to replay everything again, so uhh... would it be okay if you could paste your save file here, sorry if this is a bit much. Thanks!
Another thing that this does. If you iceshock Sans at the end Susie will throw away her branch. Most likely not being in any future fights, at least until she gets a new weapon. It kind of makes me hope that we CAN kill Susie. As much as I love her.
She also refuses to equip new ones, and given the context unless it's for a fight against us I kinda doubt she's gonna get a new one. She definitely does a good bit less damage without her stick.
I feel like there's going to be a point where Susie will try spare enemies against your will, and you'll need to intentionally "kill" her in battle if you want to stay on the Obliteration Route
You did not show what happens if you freeze Sans to death with Noelle. In my playthrough, Susie got angry and threw away her weapon asking how we knew what to do.
This is really cool to see! Given both Kris and Susie can be given specific words that alter actions in battle, I wonder if Noelle would get one at one point too? It would have to be something pretty extreme, but eh I could see it!
I got devious Susie on my playthrough, assuming you had to pick the most clearly horrid options to stay true to the route... since there's only 3 save slots, and the other 2 are already taken up by Pacifist and Neutral, I guess I'm stuck with it! That'll make things interesting.
When i got devious susie i thought it was the right thing to do i expected each party member to have a negative effect but nope turns out i just made myself get stuck with susie what sometimes messes up her attack
If you mean the Lesser Dog fight, then yeah you'd have to be actually sadistic to not have any guilt over killing him. You're given ~20 seprate chances to spare him, and if you have before its... really wholesome, it actually made me smile when I played the pacifist route. But in the obliteration route, you just hack at it until it's shield breaks, the flavor text literally says that he's so terrified he's going to faint (Likely literally as he has the tired status), It's overall just a very bleak fight.
I did the exact thing you showed and didn't get devious, in fact, when I chose anything else the game reverted to a neutral route. Also, the red buster appears after Kris talks with others and reveals his eyes.
I wish I could play section 3, it looks amazing. Paula is preventing me from doing so, as soon as she starts using the crit pan + a different attack at once I die within 1-5 turns. I don't know how I'm supposed to win this fight
A few hints. -It goes without saying but have maxed TP and as much HP as possible before killing Ness. You want fully charged batteries before you go into that fight. Getting used to Ness and Paula's easier pattern's will also help you prepare for Paula's harder ones. -Use defend and try to keep your TP close to or above 50% as much as possible. Paula rips a lot of HP away, but Dual Heal can replace it all just as fast as long as you don't go completely to pieces over multiple attacks. -If someone goes down, break out the supplies. Items can get a critically injured party member back in a hurry. -Play aggressively whenever you've got a decent amount of HP. You can't let Paula have complete control of the fight; start wearing down her HP so the pressure isn't all on you. You don't need to survive forever; you just need to outlast her. -Use Susie's Red Buster twice, then switch over to Kris's X-Slash when it appears after her refusal. When you're up on HP of course. X-Slash is the best way to wear Paula down. If you're really doing well on TP you can throw in the occasional Ice Shock from Noelle on the same turn to really hammer home the damage. -There's a psychological edge to these battles as well. When you get an overwhelming attack (like lightning tied in with Paula's frying pan; a nightmare combination) just bite the bullet and try to avoid the worst of the damage. You might want to choose to get hurt by the pan sparks if trapped between two attacks, as it's better than taking 12 HP from a lightning strike. If your HP is already high then you might make it through with a decent amount of health remaining. -If all else fails, watch someone else do the fight. I'm trying to beat Genocide Ceroba in Undertale Yellow right now, and watching someone else do it without taking any damage hasn't made me a master of the fight, but it has at least made her attacks go from impossible to almost manageable. I used to find the fight impossible; came back to it after a year of not playing Chapter 2 and beat Paula first try. Eventually, the correct set of tactics imprints on you.
it happens because kris becomes deceitful in the obliteration route and sets up a fake version of red buster that'll target kris and the team instead of the enemy (in hopes of killing the player)
Being hit with a red buster cannot be fun. Especially as a light world human Also does pressing the interact button during red buster still deal more damge if it hits kris?
You know its nice to see the soul getting blamed for once and everyone hating you, not kris, but i really do wonder: What does kris think about us during pacifist? We know he despises us during obliteration, but does he like us when we spare everyone? Is he afraid of us? Does he think we are trying to manipulate everyone? What about when we allow him to say he dislikes us? Is he relieved? Or is he worried? From what we know it seems like kris is extremely worried that we will eventually just snap or that we are just being nice because we are bored. It seems like kris has no more of an idea of our motives than we have of his. I really wonder how the relationship between us and kris will develop over the coming chapters.
From what I gathered in my Pacifist playthrough, it seems like Kris definitely doesn't LIKE it. But they definitely have noticed you mean no harm. They just want their body back
Wait do i have to do this to continue my route? Cause if i actually have to do this then i would kms, susie was literally carrying me throughout my run, casting rude buster to everyone so if i have to make her this status then im fucked do i really have to or no?
You do not. I picked the "You hit me????" Option and i'm still on the Obliteration Route. According to the wiki you don't even have to hit her but that doesn't sound right
I think in obliteration, they want to believe that each of the worlds was just a dream. There’s some dialogue about it at the end of section 2 obliteration. That could be why you’re devious and deceitful stats go away. Remember to kill the mole in waterfall and you should be fine. It’ll make a sound when you’ve aborted the route.
Kris, I believe, becomes "deceitful" after the talk in Q.C.'s house, and Susie's "devious" status goes into effect after saying "shut up"/"I want you dead". So far, Noelle doesn't have a special red effect
Pretty sure there's 3 rn: Concussion (On Kris, decreases stats) Deceitful (On Kris, Red busters hits you instead) Devious (On susie, makes her not do what you want)
Wait, I thought it was normal because I got this on my obliteration run lol, I literally wanted to kill Susie because she was always in the way, so telling her I wanted her dead was as close as I could get and yes, knowing that it's possible I also wanna kill Noelle lol
That’s just messed up. Genuinely feeling that way about the characters kind of proves you have harmful lack of attachment to characters in general (or haven’t played the source material, most likely).
@@poyopowerplant "harmful" I love susie and noelle but it's not "harmful" to not be attached to them. They are VIDEO GAME characters. Not real living people.
