Quite a number of Dunning and Williams blue-screen travelling mattes at the start. This was just before the cellulose-acetate screen was developed for background projection. It must have been slow film, as they had real trouble trying to keep things in focus.
Theres a lot of rear projection in this were theyve dropped forground debris infront of miniature shots of buildings collapsing like the guys in the office at 0.26 etc. The running crowds are hand rotoscoped.. I dont think theres any TM shots?
Think the Titanic is in there somewhere! 😉 This is real good for the '30s but what is it about New York that the movies were wrecking even back then?? lol
Give a kid a small model of New York City and in a few hours after you've gone to the local bar to relax, you come back home to small New York City totally destroyed by a 250 foot child a-la Godzilla with diapers. (Hopefully he did not crap himself into oblivion).
