Lady, you just clicked a switch in me. That applies to ALL things in life. I always knew but today it clicked when you said a battle that didn't need to be.

So true, it is about the person individually, not about our discomfort or what others might think.

I love you. This is the first video that he ever seen from you, but I felt it and i needed it, and you’re 1000000% right. Thank you. ❤ Side note: my pawpaw passed from this, and his mother the same. I helped him take care of her during that time, and couldn’t be there for him that way, but other people I love dearly were. BUT, I have a high functioning autistic daughter about to start kindergarten and the biggest thing I took from this was about my baby. Keep spreading what the Lord has put in you. It’s reachin people you don’t even realize. All my love

Oh thank you so much for your kind words. You’ve really blessed me. And thanks for sharing your story. Autism and Alzheimer’s/Dementia have a lot of similarities bc they are both neurological conditions. Bless you and your sweet baby! Take care.

This is so true babe, it's hard for the patient and on the people caring for them. Celebrate the shirt not criticize the tag!

What if she pulls down her pants and tries to go to the bathroom on a wet floor sign? Do I just roll with it? Cause that's the kind of thing that happens at the dementia unit.

And that’s why dementia competent training needs to be mandatory so that staff know what to do and how to prevent these types of things from occurring. The fact that you called it a “dementia unit” tells me that your company doesn’t invest in training for the staff, which is a disservice to those who live and work there. Thanks for watching 🙏🏽.

Thanks for your comments. But there is a slight difference; adults know they’re adults so you have to maneuver a little differently.

Umm if you are taking someone to Target w you then you obviously would make sure they are fully dressed! It’s ok to tell them the shirt is on backwards and help them change it! I work a dementia patients and I don’t agree w anything you just said!

It's just as easy to teach 'front' and 'back' at the same time. But that's my opinion and I respect yours.

So you want to teach her like a child? A grown person who probably taught you front and back? Thats condescending and will cause defensiveness and unnecessary resentment. I hope you aren't dealing with someone suffering from this....

@@JustAskDrMacie OMG! Please, no! I wasn't talking to you doc! I was talking to the person who said they would use it as an opportunity to teach front and back!!!! I SOOO hope you see this, I have nothing but the utmost respect for everything I heard from you and was actually defending you when you said you weren't sure what she was getting at.
