That was the best demo that I've heard of the TSa15H. Great demo. Great playing. I already own the TSA15H......It's nice to hear what other guys can do with it Thanks.
I agree with all you said + your positive comment "It's nice to hear what other guys can do with it" i also own it and it BLOWS my mind, in a good way that is :)
I own this amp for a while and I strongly recommend to switch tubes! After the change of preamp tubes (for JJ ECC83S/12AX7) and power tubes (for paired JJ 6V6S), I have to say, big WOW! :) Really, I would never expect such a big tone difference! I always fought I have very good sounding amp, but now, I have a killing machine! :) Significant sound change, lot s of muddiness and dirt disappeared, now it has a strong low end and clear highs, with less mids, 100% top class "fender" sounding amp. Super super clean. Somebody could miss mid frequencies and dirt, but I much prefer adding gain (by pedals) instead of removing it (which could be mission impossible :) )
ahoj chcem sa opýtať na tú úpravu zmenou lámp vieme sa nejak skontaktovať? zaujíma ma ako si to vymenil prípadne ako sa zmenil zvuk a či môžem potom vratiť naspeť tie lampy a podobne
For clarification, the 'loop' is not a true loop as found in most amps (it is not an insertion between preamp and amp). What it does is allows the insertion of the guitar or other pedals after the on-board tube screamer or boost rather than before.
I bought this amp. It is just awesome. It really has a great clean tone. It is genuinely clean with warmth. The over drive is typical TS 808. The amp really does make each guitar sound unique. This is a very very hard to better for a 5 - 15 watt amp.
Thanks man!!! Yes, I would say so. A varm, very clean sound with a bit of compression when you play hard. The new 30-watt version are fantastic too and with a bit more headroom. Cheers! Magnus
I bought this head and I am curently running it through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 1x12 extension cabinet. The head is extremely bright, It is voiced like a Marshall, I have to run the highs at about 8 Oclock. The built in tubescreamer sounds great but I don't use it live. I run it with the boost switch engaged and crank it up. The clean sound reminds me of a Bassman. The amp screams when it's cranked up...
Finally someone who made a good demo video of this amp!!! All the other demos and sound clips on youtube are garbage. The tone is clear, unlike the demo even done by Ibanez themselves...... Thanks
It is loud enough for me to gig with it, even with the 1x12 cab. I always mic it up and don't really like it too loud on stage. If you play with a very loud drummer will it probably not be loud enough, or maybe I should say "it will not be clean on that volume anymore". But you can look at the 30-watt version, it is defiantly loud enough for any situation you can find yourself in. Cheers! Magnus
This is the only video I've found so far of Ibanez amps and cabinets There's a shop I know with 2 Ibanez IS412CS Cabinets, one is slanted, so it does form a stack, and they are quite cheap, and I'm wondering if those are more special than they seem
I got one of these. Playing a hollow body and Tele custom. The lballoning blues is fat and expression comes through in all levels 5w or 15w. 15 shakes the walls and windows. Very well crafted amp / speaker. This one will be a sort after classic soon. Those of us that got one for around $500. Got a gift. I'm getting a tv 5w just because there really nice and have the tube svreamer as well. Bonus. Collectors item.
@ zivrock1992. Thanks man! It has 2 12AX7 in the pre-amp and 2 6V6GT in the power amp. I have not tried all the versions of the small Orange amps and I am sure I would like some of them, but I love this one. Knowing what i know now would I get this one. Cheers! Magnus
@ Yngwue. Yes, I think it is. I have done loads of gigs with it outside. But like I said in my answer above, I don't really like it too loud. Cheers! Magnus

@MagnX wow, extremely good for the first serious filming and editing job I'm also trying to improve things all the time. I think we're both on the right track. Georg
Thankyou! I just have to decide between this half stack, and the Bognor Alchemist 112 combo. The Alchemist looks versatile and good for me because it keeps me from buying a bunch of pedals because it has cool features such as tap tempo delay. But the amp is also assembled in China and some people seem to have bad experiences with the durability of it. This TSA seems like it would give me less problems.
Hi, May I know what is the brand of the Green Telecaster style guitar in the background wall? It has the Green flame maple top, maple neck, 2 humbuckers and floyd rose tremolo? It is really nice!
Can I ask that what green flame maple tele shape guitar in the middle is? It looks like an Ibanez FR but they never made one like that, the trem looks like a lo pro too.
Hey Fernando, It is a LACS model based on the Ibanez FR series. It was never available with a trem like the one I have here, but otherwise basically the same guitar. The 3 guitars one the wall to the right are also the same model. My absolute favorite Ibanez model ever.
Okay thanks. I thought I would sound better running it directly to the PA because ur not releasing the sound from the cabinet, then trying to capture it again with a mic. But il take ur word for it; after all; everyone seems to mic the cab these days. And is the tube screamer no good for live? The TSA looks good for me cause I have a Stratocaster and I play at a church. Seems to be suitable notes for what I need.
can this amp do any trash and gash metal??? I'll look forward to it if it does, if it doesn't maybe I'll go for tbx 150 instead. please give me some advice or suggestions. thanks.
Excelent review, just hava a question I play from maybe the most light rock to almost the heaviest metal, is this amp, you know, recommended for my tastes? Cheers
Since you have the overdrive in the preamp, if you use a distortion pedal should you put it in the fx loop?...I'm wandering.. by the way, excellent demo!
@MagnX I'm looking for a small gig amp. This sounds great for blues and classic rock, but we also play country. I need something I can get a warm twang out of as well as the classic and blues tones. Is this possible with this amp?
I bought one of these amps as I like 6V6 tubes. I can confirm its very loud and great sounding. I use clean channel with a TC Nova effects unit. It is a great sounding amp and very suprised its not being raved about for the money and as a great backup amp. Don't buy it for the tube screamer as it is ok but just a great clean channel for pedals and on its own. You need reverb pedal but would buy another if it let me down but it appears to be built like a tank and runs 15w or 5w so you can push the valves and if you like tube screamers then use it as two channel amp. I have run amps from fender to Boogie and Marshall and yes its a basic amp but great tone.
would you recommend it ? i have a couple questions if you could somehow give some insight :) im thinking of either getting just the head and running it through my marshall avt 412 cab, but im not sure how that would sound as the cab is not one of the higher end marshall cabs. so its either that or getting the tsa15h and ibanez cab, and im not too sure what i should do. thanks in advance !! :)
Sounds good through most cabs to me its a good solid amp. The tube screamer is a bonus but just as a clean amp its great and takes any ohm cab from 4 ,8 to 16. Takes pedals and effects units well but if thats not your thing it just sounds nice on clean or with tube screamer setting. It should sound great through any 4x12 and my 1x12 basic seventy 80 celestion is great and tried on WGS speaker cab that is higher spec speaker and sounds great so I am no sales guy, but it is a great little amp that surprised me and delivered but it is not in the premier league cost or build wise but Ibanez did a good job. I have a mesa Boogie amp and this is my backup and both do the job. will be keeping mine.
Kind of off topic here, but I've been lusting for an AWD-82/83/102(or 103 can't remember).I haven't seen too many videos on them, but after buying, playing and LOVING my as-93,and being a strat player,I know I NEED one. What is your overall impression of these guitars?
Mycket bra demo. Gonna write in english som everyone can read it. :-) This is one of the best demos I´ve seen when It comes to small amps. I often find it disturbing that guys who can´t play or don´t have the right action in the fingers shows demos. That can make the avarage musician think that some amps are really bad. Your demo shows what this small amp can do and beyond. SO I can just say: Excellent demo, 10/10
Greetings fellow man of the north! great review you really play awsome! do you think this amp would do well with a 2x12 cab with a greenback and a g12h in it? Best regards from Denmark
Maybe I could plug it straight in to a PA system through the "sent" output that is used for the pedals? Do u think it would be hard on it if it wasn't using any power to power up cabinets?
Hey, one question - When using this head in the 5 watt mode, are we making tonal compromises ? as in , in comparison to the 15 watt setting, will the 5 watt fall short ?
I'm trying to decide wether or not to buy this head but im not sure if i should get the ibanez TSa15h, fender super champx2 hd, or an orange tiny terror. either one i buy will be plugged into a Marshal mg412 4x12 cab, so i dont know which one would be the best choice with pirce, tone, effect options, or compatablity so anyone with an idea or that has tried any of theses heads please write me back. thanks!
Mvh Magnus
+Patrick Hlavinka Hi, Yes, using an overdrive before the amp sounds great (just like it does in front (or after) a normal tube screamer. With a Surh Riot in front of it, for example (it is what I use), do you get into real high gain land with an amazing tone. Cheers, Magnus
@mrstillarookie get yourself a good distortion pedal and i'm sure it'll does the trick, but if you want a metal tone just from the amp itself i guess you should look into other amps...
