An American icon, A statement for seasoned bikers, That Arnold jump comes to my mind once I see it, it is a dream for me, the only harley i love and respect
I have bought myself a brand new Fatboy just a couple of weeks ago, and I really like it. Before that I had a Fatbob . When it comes to corners you are right, a little challenging, however you quickly get used to it. Stability is just absolutely great. I love this bike! Finding neutral is a hassle, had same thing on my other Harley
Strange that .I just last week rode my 2002 fat boy for the first time .I found cornering no prob or finding neutral no prob .But mine is 20 years old.
Just bought mine. All the Harley’s I’ve owned were sometimes a bit difficult to find neutral if you wait until you come to a dead stop. I’ve learned, for me anyway, to go to it while still moving (the last 3-4 feet) prior to dead stop. Not saying it will work for everyone every time, but works for me 99 % of the time.
Amazing Harley Davidson Softail Fat Boy, no doubt at all it has always been my favorite motorcycle ever since I was a child, very Nice video and Excellent explanation, thanks for sharing!!
I have a Lowrider S, a Heritage Classic and a Fatboy. Of the 3 the Heritage is the most comfortable for me. The Fatboy comes in a close 2nd. Being 5'6" with a 29 inch inseam, I can still flat foot either bike. I have done 500 mile days on the Heritage, but for around town and shorter rides I do enjoy the Fatboy. If I could find a fairing with an audio system for the Fatboy I might try some longer distance rides.
Not finding neutral is a thing that happens with every motorcycle, with me at least. Some sometimes, others more often. In that case I release the clutch a little so the bike moves forward a little. And voila, I find neutral. I have this with my 2019 Fat Boy and with my Honda Blackbird (2001) and with my brothers Yamaha XJR1300. Best looking Harley Davidson ever btw. But that is how I feel the Fat Boy.
Excellent review you buy the bike you like is your money your choice, there is a lot of pros and cons with everything and lot of experts out there telling you what to do , I am newbie but I will go for the FB because this is my dream bike love you channel you have new subscriber ride on and sty safe
Finding neutral on the Fatboy which I have the 2023 model and just recently the Fatbob 2023, punch down on the clutch pedal as if engaging first gear. Release the clutch until creep a touch forward in first. Now tap up to get neutral. Sitting at a set of lights or rolling to stop position it would be very difficult almost impossible to find so always stamp down to first and engage and then find
I have had 3 evo Harleys one after the other since 1989 .i never had a problem finding neutral on any of them .My last one was a evo wide glide .Rode it for 18 years , no prob getting neutral .Maybe since they ditched the evo engine thats when this neutral shit started.
I agree 100%, the bike is a little lazy in the turns but you get used to it, I bet. You have to get Cruise Control, it is a game changer. Good vid, thanks for posting!
I've been wanting a Fat Boy since 2006. They have always been the most ergonomic books I've ever ridden, but I could never find one I could afford. Well, thats no longer the case, and I just put a deposit down on a lightly used (only 900 miles) 2023 anniversary edition. Coming off a 2006 Victory Vegas Jackpot, I can't see the corners being anywhere near as lazy. 🤣
I have the same issue with neutral with my 200 Fat Boy. Sometimes it is impossible for me to find it and it pisses me off. Harley of course says there is nothing wrong with it. Brakes lock up in emergency braking as you have to order one with ABS and Harley does not seem to have floor models with ABS.
I've owned and ridden the Fat Boy for two years. It's the worst handling bike I've ever ridden. I still really enjoy it! The neutral finder was impossible to find until the bike was broken in. Then it's no problem. The size thing; this bike looks even more awesome with short riders. It's a scale issue.
@@IronBornRider No. I have a short friend and he looks way better on my Fat Boy than he does on his own Road King. I happen to be average height and a bit athletic,in build, and sometimes I feel that the Fay Boy appears a bit small with me on it.
I became a fanboy of the Fatboy when I saw the Terminator movie. However, I would worry air turbulence from semi’s and crosswinds in Illinois, where I live.
When you want to find neutral you just blip the accelerator a little as you’re moving the shift lever.Never fails! By the way, how long have you been riding?
Thanks Ken, I might try that. I've only just discovered recently that a blip of the throttle with clutch lever pulled in will overcome that almightly clunk when going from neutral to 1st gear (when the oil is warmed up of course, can't do it when it's cold).
For me on my fatboy, finding neutral was a bit hard for the first 500 miles. Eventually it got easier. I can’t explain why. Maybe shit had to break in a bit
Been looking hard at a 2020 Fatboy. On the fence. Love the looks and feel of the bike. My questions are how's the reliability. Is this a money pit,is this a bike I can live with for the next 5 years. Been reading HD forums and have been scared after seeing all the issues. I've also been looking at a 2014 Fatboy one owner. Different bike I know. Opinion please??
You have to adjust the clutch on the Fatboy then it should drop into.neutral easily the clutch can't be riding on the engine at all if you shut the motor off it drops right into neutral that's how I figured that out
finding neutral on a new Harley seems to be difficult. I don't think it is isolated to the Fat Boy. I am not sure if it a matter of breaking the bike in, or just getting used to how sensitive it is. It does seem to get easier about 1,000 miles in. I ride a 2022 Fat Boy with a 131ci engine.
@@Doobie603 I really enjoy it. The torque is just insane. I had to do a third party tune to get the most power out of it, which voids the powertrain warranty. Is it worth the expense? I am not sure about that.. but it sure is a lot of fun.. and a great conversation piece when folks notice it. 137hp, 147 lb/ft torque. Using the cam that came with the kit.. could probably get 150hp with a difference cam.
Very true. Neutral does come easier the more you ride, but I still have bad days trying to find it - and it’s always guaranteed to happen when you pull up to a cafe with dozens of people staring at you 😀
Great video and wonderful comments below. Thanks a lot. I really appreciate if anyone could give me an input about CONFORT to travel with a fat boy 500 miles with wife on the rear seat. (I am 184 and wife is 120 LBS). Thanks in advance.
So if you have to borrow money to buy a motorcycle, don’t. With just the taxes and fee’s associated with the loan you can buy a beautiful low mileage garage queen and be debt free.
Would love to buy a Fatboy - at the appropriate price - given they’re assembled in Thailand (of 49% non-American parts) for everyone in the EU, Asia and Australasia. Same goes for Triumph who are playing the same games. Very disappointed in both of these companies.
