It's universal, so no matter your income level you'll always have that $1000 to fall back on. And it gives value to jobs that are currently undervalued, like Yang's wife, stay-at-home moms and other caretakers. I'm not too clear on how that last part is sustainable but at the very least, those people will be getting money for simply doing what they do.

The freedom dividend also helps more people start new local businesses which heightens market competition making them more price efficient while contributing to economic growth.

The great depression of 1929 was made worse because the dollar was linked to gold. He is making all Americans taxpayers. The dollar would not lose its value and inflation would remain low. The tech companies will lose some value so the Dow and Nasdaq would fall on wall street.
