@@rdu239 yeah I always thought he was too easy for being the first ever soulsborne knight boss. But this theme gives him justice and the screen shake when his attack lands looks like it would make him a little bit harder to dodge. I’m happy either way tho :)
The coolest thing is that it is still technically the same theme from the original. Tower Knight and Penetrator both got a unique remix of the PS3 OST for themselves in the remake.
While having differences in its composition, the Penetrator's theme is made after the Tower Knight's original theme. You can hear bits of it throughout the composition.
@@rdu239 Fun fact, after the Penetrator boss battle, you can fight 3 enemies that don't respawn and use and drop the weapons of Phalanx, Tower Knight and Penetrator(fans speculate that they are the human form of the bosses before they were turned to Demons, similar to False King Allant). So in other words, they were the original gank squad.
@@georgehouliaras7239 When fighting the 3 bosses, phalanx, tower knight and penatrator, you can actually see their human phantom forms after defeating them. Go into photo mode after killing them and look at the mist. You will notice that their human forms appear inside of it for a brief moment.
Penetrator has his own theme song with his name on it. This can be seen in the list of the soundtrack for the game, but for some reason it plays from the Vanguard demon
I really like this theme, has this opressive melody, you're fighting a man with a huge sword, who's fast as fuck, you should be afraid. Edit: Also very glad that this boi has his own theme now. And it's sick.
@@theatheistbear3117 Eh I would say The Old Hero, Storm King, Armor spider and even Flamelurker (the bombastic soundtrack actually fits that boss imo) are way cooler now. I actually don't like the new Penetrator that much since they changed the effect on his sword and the colour on his clothing, this might seem like nothing but the whole "blood effect" makes it feel like they didn't know what to do to make him more Demonic and they forced that on us, I loved the blue tint the sword had because it made him more heroic while the purple clothing is literally a symbol of royalty, which gave a really cool contrast to him being a demon. It's also really dumb how he's making random grunts etc. since it makes him more human even though they gave that "blood effect" for the exact opposite reason. Soundtrack is pretty cool though even though it is a little bit short but I guess it doesn't matter since the actual boss is really easy and dies super quick with the few moves he has.
Good on Bluepoint for giving Penetrator a theme of his own. I always thought it was strange that he had to share his theme with Tower Knight. All the other bosses have unique themes so it felt odd that Penetrator got the shaft there.
I'm starting to like the new Penetrator theme, even more than the remade Tower Knight. To me, it's a more heroic and more corrupted version of the Tower knight, and it sounds awesome!! ÷)
This honestly sounds fantastic. It's just sad to see how many people want to find something to hate about the remake. First it was the atmosphere, then bluepoint fixed that, then it was flamelurker, and bluepoint fixed that, and now it's the music. Honestly if you want the original game then just play the original game.
In general that’s an understandable argument but then again, would you rather play the original that’s barely hold 25 FPS with many glitches and is kind of outdated or would you rather play a brand new solid 60fps with better graphics and modernises the game. Saying if you don’t like the remake then play the original destroys the point of the remake.
Totally agree with you. Some remakes butcher the original, mess up the lore and stuff games with PC and push their own agendas down our throats. This was a clean remake to my knowledge free of all that. And it runs like a bullet train on steroids performance wise. Besides the original is right there. I don't want to play the same game again while the original is available. If anyone is to blame its sony for condemning Demon's Souls to PS3, "Exclusive" My Ass. I'll never forgive them for that.
@@theatheistbear3117 Yes really, and thats the good thing about it. Maiden Astraea isn't even the one trying to kill you. The new soundtrack perfectly portrays Garl Vinlands heroic duty to protect his maiden, somber tones eventually turn to more aggressive and focused notes signifying Garls intent to keep you from Astraea. Coming from someone who listens to this music on the daily for years the pure emotion given throughout the track signifies exactly what I've said, and this opinion isn't made out of thin air, many others think much the same with me.
@@stockimageofaburglarwithag2284 perfect explanation. this guy hasnt even played the og demons souls nor the remake as he stated in another comments thread anyways
Yet another instance where the remake's take on the OST is actually better than the original. Say what you will about Sony's insistence on having every track feature a full on orchestra, but in some instances like Flamelurker or this one, it does pay off.
@@lepurpleboi3266 i know, i know. Don't get me wrong, I really like the original tune for both, but it sounded a bit memey. Like, it's a fun track but it's really goofy and doesn't really fit with the vibe of the actual fights. These renditions certainly heighten the tension a lot more than the original
Another really awesome track for this awesome remake. I like how they echoed the fact that penetrator and tower knight shared their boss themes in the original yet still gave penetrator his own theme. Also, is it just me or does anyone else sorta get star wars vibes at about the 35 second mark?
who is the best fromsoft knight contestants are: Arty the wolf boy Big Dick "Penetrator" Metas Plin Plin Plon High King Aladeen ROBERTTT! Death Santa Sully Zappy Boi HOT HOT HOT Gank Squad
i've always imagine the penetrator having it's own theme. it's my favorite soulsborne boss. this is better than i could have even imagine. got insane chills doing this fight for the first time on ps5.
Why does the frail dexterity sorcerer take massive amounts of punishment from the penetrator and still live? Because WARDING that's how! Take notes fellow dex mages Not only that but you'll be tanking false king too. Ig that means in any situation use warding. Even second chance isn't worth it because you won't be able to use warding. Warding is legit better than second chance. Atleast in my experience.
Such a badass boss and theme, but he was such a push over.....the only time I wish a boss was harder, he was way too easy :( I really feel like this boss was disrespected purposely, from having to go though four bosses that were hard, then get through the bs hell stairway, only just to meet a boss that seems threatening, only just to be a big pushover
Storm Kong’s is good, tower knights and flamelurkers are epic. Maiden astraeas is one I could see in argument for, but the rest were forgettable in the original and still are to fit the forgettable ness of the original. Like who remembers leechmongers theme?
@@KirkWilliams300 I was agreeing with you and saying how it’s funny that penetrators theme is more reminiscent of tower knights theme in the original demon souls
Fighting this boss with Biorr ruined it for me. Literally you can kill him in 10 seconds with Biorr. Highly recommend not freeing him from his cell until AFTER you kill this boss unless you like the easy way out lol
this and storm king and some others i really love because they remind me of the original gow games. it just feels so grand and menacing i love it so much.
The new Tower Knight plays a bit like some music in God of War This reminds me of Knights of the Sky from Battlefield 1 at some point And that shit slaps
This soundtrack seems to have a higher production value yet fails to capture the mood or tone of the original game. Demon's Souls is such a lonely and foreboding gaming experience. It's very different from Dark Souls in that respect. The original soundtrack had a lot to do with that. Demon's Soul is not an epic it's a tragedy.
That’s a semi fair argument, but the music doesn’t mean it’s not a tragedy. I’d say Dark Souls is far more of a tragedy then Demons Souls due to the sheer fact that there is not a single happy ending in the game and everything that you’re fighting for is based on lies and false hopes and there’s nothing you can do to make it better. Yet Dark Souls still has some very epic compositions, I don’t think it takes away from the point, I think it’s just a different way of telling the same story through music.
The original was tragic? Wtf, this has some of the same elements of it, but is more modern. Listen to the OG tower knight/ penetrator theme, it wasn’t tragic. Maiden asraea=tragic
Completely disagree. Dark souls is way more tragic than demon souls. Dark souls you’re just a nameless undead who goes on a quest in a dying land for reasons he doesn’t know. In demons souls however, you’re the last hope to lull the old one back to sleep. You go on an adventure to be able to achieve this goal. If anything the new music is more fitting than the original
Some ten years ago I, a stupid person, made a stupid joke about 'Sticky White Stuff' in an old video cataloguing the shared Penetrator/Tower Knight theme. Today, I say: It's still pretty creepy.
