Egg suggestion: tap the fat end lightly with a spoon until you hear a snap, then THEN tap it all over to crack the shell, THEN peel. The air in the fat end separates the egg from the membrane, which is the snap sound you hear. Works every time

Hey, FutureCanoe! There are several reasons for uneven heating on the stovetop. The burner might be too large for the pan, the cookware could be warped, or the heating element might be damaged or dirty. These are just a few possibilities, but I hope this helps a bit.

This! And if I might add, part of the reason it could be sticking is because the tofu hasn't developed the crust. It needs longer in the heat to get golden. Once it gets to this stage the tofu should come right off. Another reason could be more oil was needed. Hope that helps too!

The outro music is one of the best things about the videos. It's part of the entire package. I watch Dancing Bacons videos and one was just bentos he got to eat while traveling on trains in Japan. They all looked better than anything you would equivalently pay for in the US. There are those clay grills that use the crazy complicated expensive charcoal that seem to be casually used indoors in Japan. I know the grills are on Amazon.

The mitarashi dango looks lovely! The apprehension over soy sauce in a dessert is weird at first, but they're so addictive. Also, for the Beef Gyuudon in your first recipe, usually sugar is also added to the sauce, which might help cut the salty flavour to it. Thanks for the video, it brought back happy memories of living in Japan.

I have a hack for peeling eggs easier. Just take a tea spoon and insert it in between the egg and the membrane/egg shell and work around it gently until it is all separated

I think one good way of stopping those dango sticks catching on fire when you torch them is soaking them in some water before you get the skewered! Might make it easier to get them on the stick in the first place too
