California Congressman Adam Schiff is the latest Democrat to insist President Biden drop his reelection effort.
A slowly progressing number of Democratic lawmakers have called on the president to step aside following a disastrous debate performance last month. They have also expressed concern about Biden's ability to serve another term and his chances of beating former President Donald Trump in November.
Schiff, who is running for Senate, released a statement explaining why Biden should withdraw.

I've watched closely what Joe Biden has said and done since his debate performance. I've been satisfied that Biden can do the job and is mentally capable. I expected a poor performance from Joe, I just wanted him to tell truths. Made my decision way before the debate, I decided when Trump put his name in the hat. I WONT vote for him, I would've thought Donald was serious about the Black Vote and at least picked Tim Scott for VP. But nope just like his cabinet in 2016, we're going another direction with that one. I'd like to see Crockett on the ticket in 2028', so does George Clooney like hang out with Joe on the regular?
