Denim & Motorcycling 

I'm 61 and an old school British biker, I own two Triumph motorbikes a Speedmaster 1200cc and a Trident 660.. Since I was a teenager I've worn a Marlon Brando stye jacket, black boots and jeans, these days I do wear protective jeans, but removed the armour that came with my leather as I don't like the look or feel of the jacket when fitted, and yes I do know this is stupid as I already had a bike crash 16 years ago that nearly took my life.. Thanks for the video, always look forward to your uploads, I don't follow many biker channels that are not British, but absolutely love your content and been subscribed for a while now.. I find the choice of denim to be a question mostly of style rather than functionality. As you point out, jeans don't breathe, so they're terrible in the heat. They're also awful in the rain, and they offer zero protection in a slide. I guess I'd rather stick out as a motorcyclist with my armored, synthetic pants than try to blend into social scenes with denim. What's funny is that my Klim pants are actually more comfortable than jeans, especially in the heat. I may lose points for coolness, but I'm okay with that.

I think we've already seen technical fabrics enter the market, indeed it's the latest denim that's in many motorcycling subcultures that is superceding them, replacing Cordura and the like. I now have single layer jeans, with an AAA safety rating comfortable enough to wear all day, every day whether I'm on the bike or not.
