I love your video... so much so, that i saved it under it's own category in my RU-vid account for reference when i buy the hardware to mount my already to go custom outdoor sofa. The part I liked the best was from about 9:20 onwards.. and how you wrapped the rope back on itself .. used temporary Z-ties .. then wrapped around the outcropping "legs" of the couch. THIS is exactly how I am going to do it now (instead of drilling a 2" hole thru the wood beam and then a knot). The dowel makes it ..!! This is easily removable to be able to move my couch to another part of my covered deck. That was a GREAT idea. I have pondered on how i was going to do things and NOW i know. I need to buy a rope of rough twine to match my marine rope... and so on. THANKS ...!! Please do not take your video down as i will need it to use it for reference

So great to hear, this is exactly why I made the videos! Yes, I needed a solution that allowed me to remove the swing should I need to, worked perfectly. Any questions, ask away!

Thank you! This felt very DIY, especially when you modify it to your needs.

Would you have added more clearance space behind the swing if you had to do this project again?

Good question, I’m thinking of adding a small pad so that it cushions, but if I had a wider porch, yes I’d add more space behind. The thing is, you only hit behind if you really push the swing, then you’re not relaxing, your exercising haha. Thanks for watching!

Thanks Justin! The type of rope is “Manila” I believe. 1” thick rope I bought at a fishing equipment store.

@@TinyLifeTAKEOVER I bought 1 & 1/2 inch rough marine manila rope .. virtually the same but a tad wider in diameter.

@@bmwrulesforeternity5218 yes, makes for a great country-style look, tho they don’t give that rope away do they! Worth it though.
