What an exciting match! Though beaten, Gideon/Sukamuljo should be happy with this result as they are (arguably)back to their old self, Gideon hitting hard from the back and Sukamuljo flexing his wrist at the front. Of course congratulations to Alfian/Ardianto. They managed to hold their nerve when constantly trailing behind. It's weird how they are down a place in the world ranking when they are having their best year of their career. Hope they can maintain the form till the closing World Tour Final event.

💯 I think Gideon is showing much improvement on his net game and being able to play shots at the front that lead to winners, and overall following up on the shuttle this way. It makes him more versatile and able to balance out Sukamuljo and provide more variety. Even though they lost it was an even better return to form than the match they played against Chia/Soh. It really is a bummer the umpire didn't call the obvious shot from Alfian out. May have affected Kevin's play at the end

Was the service judge the one who confirmed that the shuttle did touch Fajar, or was it Rian? Or maybe both? Because we clearly saw the umpire asked Rian about it and he said yes, but Oma Gil who could see the whole court said the umpire asked the service judge. So I think it's both. That's why the umpire was so sure to change his mind.

Yes, I remember from being in the venue it was the service judge making the call initially. Good sportsmanship by Ardianto at the same gesturing to give the point away, after seeing the replay on the big screen - they did deny at first, or at least claimed ignorance

Didalam pertandingan, ngga ada namanya junior senior. Semuanya sama. Marcus kevin emang kurang konsisten untuk penyelesaian rally nya. Makanya sering di comeback in sama fajar rian. Agak kurang setuju aja sih, sama kata kata "memberi semangat untuk yang muda". Padahal fajar rian juga better banget di pertandingan ini.

Nahhhhh. Kevin has tried to play with other pairs and wasn't very successful. Gideon paired with Kido and had success. Gideon allows Kevin to be flexible around the net because of his stability. Gideon just had surgery in both his ankles this year, but he's still competing in the most competitive era of men's doubles. No specific men's doubles players have managed to stay on top after Kevin and Gideon's dominance
