Dennis Rodman interview: I never talked to Michael Jordan

He's a professional. He came to work and did his job. I work with a lot of guys I never talk to but we get the job done.

He's actually a super nice guy. I saw him at a party in a marina in Miami once. He's walking in as I'm going the opposite direction. At first I'm like... Damn, that's one enormous dude. Eventually, my eyes made it to his face and my jaw dropped. I'm from Chicago and have always been a fan of his since I was a little kid. He noticed my jaw drop and gave a huge smile and walked right up and introduced himself! Good thing, or I would have walked right past, too afraid to say anything and regretted it forever. So, instead of leaving the party early as I had planned, I got to sit around and have drinks and bullshit with rodman and his friends. It was pretty awesome, I must say..

Who cares about his looks, the man is a genius. His basketball IQ is unreal, and he is extremely articulate. If this man had a sliver of stability during his upbringing who knows how far he could've gone. Ending up in the HOF was this man's floor not ceiling.

Dennis was a freakish athlete and genius. For his size, he had enormous strength and agility. He was stronger than guys that were bigger than him.

they say he is shit. he has the highest basketball IQ ever. know the ball will bounce and when and where to pass. kids saying hes trash coz he wont score dont know shit. thats not basketball IQ

sometimes i forget how real people are...rodman is complicated. he is human

This guy is a genius in asking questions, very open ended and non-judgemental. He brought really good answers from his other interviews like with Manny Pacquiao. He also reacts correctly while Dennis is answering. Great!

I heard somewhere that after a game, after playing an entire fucking game, all the rebounding and hustling, Dennis still got on a bicycle machine for at least 2 to 3 hours. Rodman was a machine.

and that is how you conduct an interview . definitely this dude has to teach these main line news anchors how to conduct interviews especially FOX.

He's kind of like the Lawrence Taylor of football. They say Taylor knew the offensive plays better than most quarterbacks, which made him a more effective linebacker. You've got to study kids....

Dennis is the epitome of hard work , and second ... to show you that if you live in chaos and channel it, surrounding your self and looking at a goal and are die hard to get it.... you can even though everything around you is chaotic... Dennis loved Michael so much too.... such respect for his leadership they didn't even have to talk. They just understood how to act and perform.

I really loved his game. wonderful player with so much heart and passion.

This guy's a genius man, imagine the amount of tape he watches, it took him to the point where it keeps on playing non stop, even in real game, that's why he get all those rebounds. Practice makes perfect. Dennis saw the game like he see it through a glass of water. What a scary player to play against man, give me chills down my spines. #realtalk

I still think that (pound for pound), "The Worm" was the greatest defensive player of all time. Rodman was around 6'-7" and led the league in total rebounding 4x and best average in rebounding 7x. Not to also mention that he had a couple seasons of averaging 18+ boards per game. His on and off the court antics didn't show it, but the dude had one the greatest basketball IQ's ever known.

This is what ppl don't understand about the Bulls. They were there to do a job! Not be best friends! The league today is a big hippy love fest. Guys are too emotional. This team understood they were there to do a job. Not get in anyone's business and show up and do your job!

I remember Steve Kerr saying on NBATV that Rodman probably could've averaged 20 points a game with ease, but he chose not to, and was in fact prouder when he had zero points. However odd a personality he might have, that's the sort of single-mindedness that only the true greats ever have. What a champ!

All I know is that Rodman was a TOP player in his position. The rebound master. I enjoyed watching him play for the Piston then the Bulls.

He was an outstanding rebounder before the Bulls. When the Pistons broke apart and they got rid of Rodman is when his attitude changed. Check is technicals before and after. He had virtually none before and he didn't dye his hair all crazy colors yet. After he found his place on the Bulls the technicals mostly cut down. He played great defensive basketball against the best. He was the best rebounder of his time and the best offensive rebounder of all time. He knew how to read where the ball was going to bounce of the rim and go so he would be there boxing out. If he didn't get the board he would pop it out of the guys hands who did. People don't realize he scored about 7 points a game taking 1 or 2 shots because of all the fouls he took down low and in the penalty your going to the line. He averaged over 10 assists 4 to 5 steals and 20 boards a game. He had nights where he had 30 something rebounds with 28 of them being offensive.

These are the types of interviews I love to see. Graham was asking Rodman questions that give us insight into how a player/person came up and succeeded. Nothing about this portion of the interview made Rodman antsy or short with his responses. It was all about showing respect. I'll definitely check out more of his interviews.

People think his game came easy, its some real genius to rebound the way he did at his size, think about it he studied tape to master rebounding ???? .. A true enigma, anybody that wants to master defensive rebounding coming up should study him , truly a legend. Again you don't have to be a scorer to be one of the Goats

Rodman is the greatest and under appreciated basketball player. He understands the game greater than an other player knowing that makes him a legendary of the game.

I think him being apart of that Bad Boy Piston Era that gave Jordan and Pippen a very hard time early in their pursue to be champions is a good reasoning. Those feelings don't go away on both ends. And if anyone knows Dennis played a huge portion in that Jordan Rules dynasty. So him saying they never talked doesn't surprise me at all.

I remember seeing an interview where Bill Laimbeer was once asked who was the smartest person he ever played with and without hesitating he immediately replied, "Dennis Rodman"

I was in elementary school when the Bulls were unstoppable. I couldnt get enough of them. Loved Jordan (who didnt/doesn't) and I really liked Rodman for his play and his uniqueness (my parents not so much lol). But I do remember wondering if they ever talked much or were buddies. Now I know! Ahhh nostalgia... Thanks!

Rodman was the true defender. I can't think of any current player who wants to be known for their rebounding and defence. This is why defence is lacking in today's NBA and the game has gone soft.
